Ready? hahaha Oh, dear
For me at least it's tradition not to be ready
(Excited, on the other hand, I most certainly am)

I completely am.
Family issues kept me from getting far last year, so I've been nursing my plot this whole year as well as making changes to the characters and such, so I'm more than ready!

I'm probably halfway ready. I need a better title, and since I plan to use a lyric quote at the beginning of each chapter, I need to break out my CDs for inspiration.

Ready? Who needs to be ready? Was I ready last year? No...
I just want to get started with that writing and no, I don't want November to come, because when it comes, it'll be over and then it's again waiting and waiting and waiting till next NaNoWriMo o_O
(It's just too addicting to have the forums back, that's the point)

I lack plots.
But do I need a plot?
Of course not!

Well, I've got a lot of outlining to do...but I still have all of October for that.
I actually have a plot now. 8D

Haha, no.
I have a vague idea of where I'm going. Note the use of the word "vague", there? Yes. I have a few characters, but I know none of their names, nor what they look like. I only know what they do and who they're related to.
It helps that I'm looking at 15+ characters, here.
I can only say this: thank god it's not a We Must Save the World! novel.
Edit: I really need to get a hang of replying on this forum...

Psh. Plans. The plot of mine has changed about seven million times over the last couple of years and right now I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up with a road trip to Texas, despite not having either cars or Texas in the world in question.

No, really. It's not. Even though I'm writing satire.

I know my characters' names, I have a long and hugely elaborate backstory planned out for them, and I know more about Algeria than I ever have before... Do I have a plot? Who cares?
(Amazingly, I do actually know what's supposed to happen in my novel, just not how it happens. Plenty of time for that, though :D)

I was totally the opposite of you (and still am to a degree). I knew plenty of ways things -could- happen, I just had no idea what actually was supposed to happen in the end.
Complete lack of direction in other words.

I'm very excited to see the boards up :) I'm probably not ready for November yet, but why should I, it's still a month away? :D Last year I started on the 4th of November without a plot, and somehow (don't ask me how I did it) I ended up with 50k. So I'll probably start thinking of a plot a few days before November :D
Though I just realized I do have test week in November, which isn't very nice of my school...Ugh, normal schools have test weeks in December.

Ummmm, readiness. We'll just skip that question in general. ^_^
I have some characters and I sort of have some bad guys but I really don't have major ones and that's not helping my "plot" at all. Ah well, such is life.

Yes, I'm ready for NaNo! I've been ready for about eleven months. Not that I have a plot. Or a title. Or characters. Or even an idea. But that's what's absolutely fantastic about NaNo. You can go in with nothing and come back with everything.

Ready?
I have 1445 words of planning, and one scene is haunting me already, because oh goddamn it, they're so cute, and it's so significant to the plot. And I really want to get to Part Four, because all my characters lose their minds.
Yes, this from a story that's supposed to be a lighthearted thing for my fourth time at NaNoing.
My muse hates me and wants my brain to die.

I'm so ready that my Inner Editor is wrestling me to the ground to keep me from starting early. I think if I ever figure out a name for my third character, there will be no stopping me.
As for plot... I'm actively trying not to think of one. I plan too much, and it makes my writing static. This year is an exercise in making things up as I go.

This is my first time - I have no title, no characters, no plot.
No - wait, I heard about a character at the weekend who is so ludicrous I have to put him in my novel - but he'll have to be a really minor character.
And if I've got him then at some point someone will have at least attempt to fly a kite.
Well, it's a start.
I can't wait to find out what happens.

First SERIOUS time. I signed up last year, but after being completely unprepared I ended up writing 5 pages before hitting a dead end and giving up in favor of schoolwork.
This year, I think I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I say that meaning I have a plot idea, I basically just need to make a timeline and give the characters names.
Given that I'm writing this post in the middle of an all-night paper session, I'm guessing that this November is going to consume my sanity. I imagine it's gonna make kicking my pop habit more difficult for sure.

Me neither, Zette! I have characters (well, I'm writing a sequel, so that part's easy) and a plot outline that's about two sentences long. Apart from that, no. But I have a whole month to come up with a proper, scene-by-scene outline, so I'm not panicking yet.
Really.
Well, OK, just a little bit. I've heard of the "sophomore slump" and that's not going to be me. No sirree!

Ready? Ha.... Hahahaha.... Bwahahahahahahahahahah! *wipes tears* Seriously now. This is my fifth year doing this, and I've NEVER been completely ready when November comes.
This year, though, I think I might be a bit more ready than I've been before. My outline (which isn't even CLOSE to finished), is looking more solid than before, I really love my plot and I think it's worth writing, and unlike.... some of my previous efforts, I think I might like it even after November's come and gone.
Titles, characters (oh heck, I need more characters! *frantic*), outline, worldbuilding - I've got at least the beginnings of all of it.

I was somewhat coerced into attempting this.
I have a plot... I have characters... I have a story outline.... am I ready? *bites nails* Probably not. I thought I might try to write some extraneous chapters based around my story, just to get myself immersed in the world. Dunno how well it'll work, but I guess it's worth a shot.
Good luck to everyone.

I'm not! I keep coming up with random plots and just don't know which to go with. I haven't even chosen a genre. There's one idea which I had a couple of months ago. There's not much plot but I have some scenes and characters. But no, totally not ready. But when was I ever ready?!
