Hey, Welestra! How are you?
I'm Gale, and this is my second year. I had a FANTASTIC time last year, which carried me through to May, writing enthusiastically. I've slowed down a bit, though, and I'm hoping that doing NaNo again will get me going once more.
This year I am planning to work on a fantasy setting murder mystery. MC is a (possibly not) reformed thief. I'm going to plan out the plot in October, but then I'm intending to make extensive use of dares to fill in the details.

Hello all,
I'm Rhonda and this is my third year doing NaNo. This year I am also doing a fantasy murder mystery about the three fates called Covenance.
Look forward to meeting you all!
Rhonda.

Hi! This is my second year. I kind of lost steam last year, but I'm hoping to win this year, especially since the project covers a HUGE span of time- 1558 to present day. It's the complete history of a family of sorcerers that exists in my writing 'verse. (last year's MC's boyfriend's family).

Name: chris
Doing Nano since: 2005, so this is my third go-round
Mood: Incredibly psyched up and excited.
This time, instead of the teenage aliens fanfic that I've done over and over again, I'm hoping to work with a slightly more unusual premise that a few friends on the #nanowrimo chatroom and I worked out together - a story of magic-hoarding royal families, 1950s technology, dinosaur-people and part-dinosaur people, and intelligent talking animals. Sound cool? :)

Hi, Viorica!
Hi, Girlwithapearl! Have you checked out the Mystery & Suspense forum? I started a Dares thread just for people writing mysteries.

Hello! I'm Vicki and this is my second year doing Nano. I'm going to be doing a crackalicious smashup of fanfic and zombies. It should be cheesy and ridiculous and tons of fun to write. :)

Hello all!
This will be my first attempt at the soul consuming, life destroying project commonly known as NaNoWriMo. I was recommended by a friend, and hopefully I'll be able to make the deadline - we'll see!
While I'm currently living in res at university, I still consider the Hamilton area my home and get back there as often as I can - what can I say, I'm not all that enthralled with the University Experience, haha! As a classic rock addict, it seems only natural that the current story outline is focussing on a hard-living rock 'n' roll star, and I'll have to see where it takes me. If nothing else, it should have a fantastic soundtrack.

Hi there. I'm Merlene. I've been the co-ML for Hamilton for the last couple of years but my life has become pretty chaotic lately (divorce, forced to move, trying to get job, etc.) so I've decided to hang up my highligher yellow ML shirt for this year. I'm hoping to come back as co-ML for NaNoWriMo 2008.
Meanwhile, I'm not even sure I'll be writing a novel this year. I'm not ruling it out. Somehow I think once Nov. 1 rolls around I'll be wanting to join in the fun again.
Good luck & Happy Novelling!

Hi everyone!
I'm Meg and this is my second year in the mad glee of NaNo. I know you're probably thinking - wait a sec - she's in BC, but.... I'm moving across the country to Vinemount (above Stoney Creek) at the end of October so I'd thought I'd join you fine people - maybe meet a few new faces! I'm originally from Ont. but I've been a Westcoaster for 13 years - I'm excited to move back - goodbye Starbucks, hello Timmy's.
I'll be writing historical fiction again this year. This time about about a girl determined to go to the Klondike Goldrush only to be shipwrecked, fall in love with a jaded Scot, and end up pioneerin' out in the Fraser Valley. Sounds like fun!
Have a great kick off Party! I roll into town 'round the 31st with laptop in tow.

Welcome back to Ontario, Meg! We're talking about a kick-off party on the first weekend of November, so maybe you will be able to come.

Hey, y'all (Particularily those of the Naggin Gale circule [Ms Gale, Ms Laura, Ms Welestra, and myself!)!
Ms Merlene, I'm sorry to hear that:-( But, I hope you can join us this year, even if it is sparingly.
I doubt I'm doing nano officially this year because I have a couple stories lined up already that I want to get further in, so I'mm be picking on and writing 50K for it. Since its already started, I can't contribute it to the webbysite, but don't hold that against me! I still wanna come to the write-ins and participate in the forums!!!!!
I was going to do a story entirely comprised of dares, I wanted to do this since last year, but since that's out of the Q, next year!
The most likely story of pursute this fall is a sci-fi taking place on a space-ship, the Antigone Marris, and there adventures. Its a look into the future of the Earth and an indepth history that starts not to far from where we are and goes to 5,000 years in the future (their present day). It's pretty cool. They try to uncover the mysteries of the Earth, since it's not widely known as the origins of life.
Though, there's still hope that once November First (Which is international skip school day, so I get the entire day to work! Yey) rolls around I may change my mind and start from scratch to feel not so left out! No ideas what I could write yet, I'll get it like the week before like last time (I was so scared I was going to come into this with NOTHING!)
Welcome everyone who's doing this for the first time, it is a blast for anyone, however hectic it may get and a great community to expand your writing (Ms Welestra does a great job at organising us all!) And welcome back to everyone else! Look forwords to seeing familiar faces come the Kick-Off party!
I've wasted enough time! That's my intro! I'm Ziggles, by the way:-P

Hi, Ziggie! What would NaNo be without you?!? I AM planning on starting a Nagging Gale thread, but not till closer to November. Have you got all your nags lined up for me?
Meg, I'm sorry; I was confuzzled. The kick-off party will be before you get back to Ontari-ari-ario. But we'll see you at the first write in, right?

Yey! I was going to demand you make one!! Closer to Nov is fine! And yes, totally prepared :-D I'm very excited. I'm trying to get as much homework done as possible (culminating activities and Latin translations) so I have a lot of free time in Nov and my marks don't drop as much as they did last year.

Hi, pat here. This is my third possibly fourth attempt, I flopped out bad last year as I was in final semester and their was just too much work to do. This year I am in the best position ever to attempt nano and hope to achieve at least half the victory goal if not the entirety. Gonna have to have a sit down and decide on what of the many floating topics and ideas in my head are ready to be written.

Hi Everyone,
This is Victoria in Burlington and I am looking forward to giving this a try (again). I will admit that last attempt was pretty half hearted, but this year I'm willing to give it the old college try! I'm looking for lots of support while writing and I'll give as much support to you guys as I can. Best of luck everyone!

Hiii.
I'm Rachel, Mac linguistics student extrordinaire (...that's a lie actually) and I signed up for Nano last year and did absolutely nothing! So this year I plan to actually go through with it instead of humming and hawing over different plot ideas. Best of luck to everyone :)

Greetings and salutations to all my fellow Hamiltonians!
My name is Peter, and this is my second go with the National Novel Writing Month. Last year I actually mananged to pass the 50,000 mark with a few days to spare and I look forward to doing it again this year. The book I was working on last year actually finished just above the 84,000 word mark and turned out rather well. I'm hoping for a similar result this year as well...
Good luck everyone and I'll see ya around!
Peter

Well, it appears to be official now: I am co-MLing with Welestra. GULP! Mostly, I think, I will be learning from her, because she's done this a bunch of times before. I'm happy to help and support all of you in whatever way I can. Cheering, mostly, I expect.
*has a horrifying thought* I can still have a "Nagging Gale" thread, though, can't I? Even as a co-ML?

Hi everybody!
I'm Patti. This is my second Nano...first year fizzled out. Last year I was 9 mos pregnant with a baby who would not move out!!
I'm determined this year to win.
My novel this year is just starting to gel in my brain. I'm thinking of a MC that is immortal but not through the traditional vampire/mystical methods. Instead it will be a genetic mutation that began many, many years ago. The "clan" has been searching for the last few hundred years for a way to finally die and this is the age that they can finally figure out what happened to them.
Looking forward to losing my mind with you guys!

Also, how's the baby doing now? Will they be appearing at the Kick Off party or any write in's? *loves babys"
