Okay, we're gonna try this again. My name is Terence, and I'll be acting as the Twin Falls M.L. again this year. I'm working on putting together a Kick Off Party, and hopefully weekly Write-In, so if you're in Twin, or surrounding areas, say hello and we'll get this ball rolling!
Cheers,
Terence

Hi All!
My name is Becca and this is my first year doing NaNoWriMo. At this point, my mood is best described as apprehensive anticipation. I'm really excited about this but hoping I can get some of the balls I'm juggling under control before kickoff!
I am from Twin Falls, and would definitely be interested in meeting. Anything to keep motivated and get to 50,000 words.
Here goes...

Hiya Becca!
Welcome aboard! I definitely think the first year was the most nerve wracking, but fun. Remember, you only have to average roughly 2,000 words a day to make it!
I'm excited to get the Kick Off Party and Write-Ins planned for Twin!
Cheers,
Terence

Hi everyone! I'll be moving back to the Sun Valley area (Carey, to be exact) near the first part of the month of November so I'm signing up to be an official NaNoer in Idaho this year.
This will be my fifth year doing NaNo (I'm addicted, what can I say?) and I'm excited once again! Hopefully I'll be able to make one or two of the Twin Falls meetings since that looks like it might be the closest group. If not, at least I'll be able to add my word count!

Hi!
I'm in Jerome this year. I've done NaNo 4 years and have lived in a different place each time. LOL This will be the first time I've been close enough to attend any meetings, so I'm thrilled to know there's a ML in Twin.
I don't know much about what I'll be writing in Nov. I'm sure I'll discover it soon. I'm trying to finish up, or at least get to a good stopping place, two other projects. One is a novel I've been playing with for years. The other is a collection of short stories that tell a larger story. I just started that one about a month ago and haven't done a lot on it. I might work on it for NaNo, but I'm thinking I will start something entirely different. There's something brewing in the back of my brain and it will be ready to "taste" soon. :)
Looking forward to meeting whoever shows up at the Kick-off and other meetings. (I hope they won't be on Tuesday nights, the only night I'm committed elsewhere.)

Hi Lar and Stephanie...
It's nice to "meet" you, and I'm so excited that our little group is growing. I just thought I'd add that Thursdays are the bad night for me for our meetings.

Hey I'm from Twin too - well sort of ... 20 miles east. would love to know if people are going to try and get together for nano. this is my second year doing it and I'm having trouble deciding between two novels to write. i'm not insane enough yet to try both :)

Wow, yes, two would be insane! Do people actually do that? Be glad that you have two ideas, though. I'm still grappling to come up with one solid one. What did you write about last year? Did you make it to the full 50,000? It's nice to meet you. :)

Hi all! Sorry I haven't been here! The site slowdown has had a big effect on a lot of the M.L.s. But, I think Chris and Russ have most of the bugs worked out and it's looking good!
So here's my plan: We start on Thursday, November 1st this year, but I know it's hard for people to gather in the middle of the week. So, I'm considering holding the Kick Off Party on the 2nd. Right now my prime location candidate is Moxie Java in Twin. I'm still finalizing the details, but hopefully I'll have NaNoWriMo goodies for everyone that shows, and the first round of drinks is on me. :)
If anyone needs to email me, my personal addy is terencewest (at) gmail.com, and I check that pretty regularly. This is my fourth year doing NaNo, and I'm excited to see a lot of writers in Twin and surrounding areas! You guys rock! I'm so excited about NaNo this year.
Cheers,
Terence

Nice to meet you too! I wrote a fantasy (everyting I write is fantasy from high to urban to sword and sorcery) about shapeshifters last year and made it to 72,000 words. It was easier than I thought it would be and I had no trouble completing the word count, even with a (at that time) three-year-old, plus work. This year my daughter is in pre-K so I have mornings to write (yea me!)
This year I'm debating between a sword and sorcery about firebirds or an urban-type about elementals. I just can't decide!

I'm pretty open on time, just a matter of making sure hubby's home to baby-sit.
Which Moxie Java? Aren't there two? I know the one in/at Kimberly Nursery and I thought there was another, but I could be wrong. (very possible actually :)

I was thinking the Moxie on Blue Lakes. It has plenty of tables, and free wi-fi access.

According to the Moxie Java website, there are 2 on Blue Lakes. I personally haven't seen either one. Or any of the others mentioned on the website (one was supposedly on Addison). But that isn't surprising. I've only lived in Jerome for 10 months and I don't frequent many coffee shops. I don't like coffee and I really don't like the prices, so I only go to coffee shops to either write or meet people. Since we have a coffee shop in Jerome, that's been as for as I've traveled to get away from the house to write (on the few occasions I've felt the need).
All that to say, i sure hope you make it clear which Moxie Java we're meeting at cos I plan to be there! In the past, I've had to do the NaNos alone, with occasional visits to the forums. I'm looking forward to experiencing a new dimension of NaNo.
See you there!
Stephanie
PS: In case there are other "older" folks who are afraid the group might just be 20-somethings and decide not to come because you think you'll be out of place, I'm pushing a half-century. So come join us so *I* don't feel out of place. LOL

I certainly will!
As the event gets closer, and we're ready to kick off, I'll send out specific details on the when, where, how, and why! I'm very excited about this year!
Oh, I'm not a twenty-something either. I hit 31 on November 4th... :)

I did just find out that my job (HOORAY! I HAVE A JOB WAITING FOR ME!) will be 8-5 Monday through Friday so I'm up for weekend write-ins anywhere in the area... especially if the weather stays nice!
If not, I'll be vocal on the boards. I love them! They keep my spirits up and my goals in sight!

I've received approval from the nice folks at Moxie Java on Blue Lakes to host our Kick-Off Party there! The party will be on November 2nd, but I'm still trying to lock down the time. I will have SWAG for everyone! As we get closer I'll send out an email with details, and directions.
Are we ready for November?

Hi!
My name is Rose. I'm from Twin Falls, Idaho. I am new to this. Actually my fiance's sister thought it would be a great idea if I joined. Thought it couldn't hurt and I love a good challenge. I've got a great story line, so I thought. The more I think about all the different possibilities my story changes. So I think the best thing for me is not to put too much thought into it and then on Nov. 1st, just let my imagination wonder and hope it all comes together in the end.
I'm looking foward to meeting you all at the kick off party! Take care!
~Rose

thanks for the offer, but no worries. I don't usually plan stuff out, so when I do, there are glaring plot holes big enough to swallow a city. I have the basic premise in my head, and I'm sure it will work its way around to a decent plot sooner or later.

Hi Everybody!
My name is Danae. This will be my third year doing NaNo. I finished in 2005, but dropped out last year after only writing 5k. Both years I wrote mysteries, this year I'm going to write an urban fantasy...I think. I won't know for sure until I start writing. Looking forward to the kick off party. :P

Hi everyone!
My name is Susan (Mariella if you prefer), and I live in Twin Falls. This is my first year in the contest, and I'm really looking forward to it. I was surprised to find that there are others in Twin Falls participating, but pleasantly so. I'm only seventeen but hopefully that won't make much of a difference to all of you. Looking forward to meeting some of you at the kick-off party. :)

Everyone is welcome! The Kick Off Party will be held November 2nd, at Moxie Java on Blue Lakes in Twin (next to Arbys), from 6 to 8 pm. I just received my NaNoWriMo SWAG, so I have groovy stickers for all... if you can earn them. :) My personal email addy is terencewest@gmail.com if you have any questions. I'm here to be your cheerleader and moral support for November. Please don't hesitate to contact me any time. I know a couple of the other NaNo vets in this area, like Danae (Caprica6) would be very happy to give advice too!
This November is going to be fantastic!
Cheers,
Terence

Hi Again!
As our Municipal Liaison has stated I am always available for advice or moments when you need to rant to someone about the doubt weasels or the inner-editor that is telling you "You can't possibly finish your novel before the end of November." Feel free to email me at danae.west@gmail.com if you need someone. I look forward to meeting those of you who are attending the kickoff party.
