This is pretty empty for now, but it will grow! This isn't just a place for the MLs to post, either -- feel free to add any meetings or write-ins that you yourself want to host (hey, you never know!). You and a few other people busy on the nights that most of the group agrees on? Meet up yourselves, and don't forget to post here so that other people can join, as well!
Some of this information might be repeated on other posts, but it's always useful to have things like this in one place.
Upcoming Meetings Overview:
- October 4 - Pre-NaNo Meeting 1 (Introduction) -- DONE
- 6pm, Central Library
- October 11 - Pre-NaNo Meeting 2
- 6pm, Central Library

- October 25 - Pre-NaNo Meeting 4 (Planning the Kickoff)
- 6pm, Central Library
- November 1 - Kickoff Party
- Acting date, subject to change
Upcoming Meetings Detail:
DATE: Thursday, October 18
TIME: 6pm
LOCATION: 251 Dundas: Central Library, Downtown; 2nd floor, tables near the escalator. Look for the giant pencil!
DETAILS: An informal get-together so your MLs can start to get to know the new members, and so returning members can reunite! Low-key, low-pressure, but (hopefully) high in social connectivity. Your MLs will be on hand to answer any questions and assuage any doubts you might have regarding NaNoWriMo, and to take suggestions on what kinds of events everyone would like to see during November. If you can't make it, don't worry -- we'll be holding events at the same time and place every Thursday throughout October. This week, we're doing something different, so bring a pen!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: For those who take the bus, the Central Library is located within two blocks of Dundas and Richmond, and within one block of Dundas and Wellington, making it within two blocks of every bus that hits downtown. Those who drive, parking is available through the Clarence, Wellington, King, or York street entrances of the Galleria Mall. Bring your ticket to the 2nd floor circulation desk and have it validated for two hours' free parking!

Woo, it's almost perfectly scheduled for me not to be able to attend! (I have class 6:30-9:30 Thursdays all semester.)

If you can't make the weekday meetings, that doesn't necessarily mean you're out of luck 'cause we could always have some additional weekend meetings too. I mean, NaNo-ers are encouraged to get together with others in their region and even if your MLs aren't available for some of the get-togethers (though I don't see the problem with adding an occasional weekend, to my schedule at least), you can still use the forums here to set up another day, place, and time for anyone who can attend. :)

Exactly. *nods* Carrie's right -- these are just the preliminary meeting times, the sort of basic 'get together and chat' things. It doesn't mean they'll be the only meetings during the month -- indeed, I hope for more (like mixed write-ins, for one!). We'll most likely add in some weekends, and maybe another weeknight here and there, depending on interest.
You can definitely, if you find that times which work for you and some other people don't coincide with 'official' meetings, use the forums to organize get-togethers with those who can make it. Carrie and I will add them to the calendar (once the site recognizes that it exists, of course), if that's what you decide to do.
In the meantime, though, what are good nights for you? Are weekends better? Friday afternoons? Mondays at 3 a.m.? (I kid, I kid.) The goal is to make this accessible for as many people as possible.

Thursday's pretty much my only bad day.. anything else, something-came-ups notwithstanding, is fine from the mid-afternoon on or (in the case of Fridays and weekends) wide open all day. I normally don't complain about my class schedule in the slightest, but Thursdays are carefully designed to be a maximal pain in the ass for me. Yargh.

Well, the good news is, I'm working on getting my weekends free in November (if I do work them it'll be the night shift, so as long as I sleep in until noon and take another nap around 8pm, I should be fine), so maybe we can work in some weekend day/afternoon shifts.

Hey guys! I'm back from last year (and a few before that). Crazy gurl and I hope to be at that meet tonight. We're looking forward to meeting you all.

Can't make it tonight. Actually, Thursdays in general are sucky for me, though the suggestion of weekends may work slightly better. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, again or for the first time as the situation applies.
Say hi t all the eager authors-waiting-for-November-to-just-start-already for me, okay?

*salutes* I told everyone hi for you, though it was before Avery and Erin showed up and I forgot to say hi to them as well. But I'll remember next time. ;)
Yeah, what we'll be doing in November (not enough people/interest to do this in October) is having two meetings, on the Thursday and the Saturday. People aren't committed to come to both but definitely can if they want to, obviously. That way we get as many people happy as we can! *grins*
Also -- I know you were posting about what you planned on doing in the old forums, but they've disappeared, and now I can't remember. Care to refresh us? ^^

Is there any way that those emails can be sent out a bit earlier? I didn't get the email about the meetup for last night until last night! If they were sent out a couple of days ahead of time, I'd be able to make it! :)
I'm definitely gonna try for the next one though!

Whoops!
I've been sending out e-mails once a week reminding people that these meetings are every Thursday, same time, same place, and it's in the forum, so that's why I figured sending out a last-minute one would be adequate. But the forums have been weird and probably the e-mails as a consequence of that. Sorry!!
I can definitely add a few-days-before e-mail, specifically regarding that meeting, since we definitely don't want to miss anyone! I'm glad you're trying for the next meeting, though. :)

Haha! Truth be told though, I didn't really start checking the forums until a few days ago. I didn't even know that there was an initial meetup! I'd like to see some old face and meet some new people. ^^;; But thank you Lorata! I really appreciate it. :)

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the London area, and would love to join you guys for a meet-up if time ever permits and if you'll have me. If you ever have a meeting on a day other than Thursday, let me know. I'd love to get to know people *other* than those I work with. *headdesk*
Cheers. ^_^

Welcome to London, Adwin!
During October there's not as much keeping us going, novelling-wise, so we're sticking to one meeting a week. During November, though, we'll be adding Saturday to the official weekly roster (not sure on time yet), and any additional one-shot meetings that might crop up on a weekly basis, so hopefully this works for you.
Also, and this is for everyone -- remember that if there are no ML-organized meetings that you are able to attend (though we hope that won't be the case!), you're free to set up other meetings amongst yourselves. It's easier for Carrie and me to do it because we've got the mass e-mail powers of doom, but just let us know and we'll send one out on your behalf.
Which reminds me, it's time for the reminder for this week's!

I have all day meetings south of London, then a lecture in the evening Thursday. There is just enough of a break for me to drop into the library for an hour or so. I will endeavor to be there, but don't save a chair for me in case something comes up.
