HAY GUYZ!
Welcome to a brand new year of NaNo and welcome back to all previous participants! I'm the Halifax Municipal Liaison, my name offline is Jaymee, but it's really easier to type "Jha".
If you're in the Halifax region (or are not but close enough to attend events downtown), HOLLA!
And if you are, the following are tentative dates for meetings, the Kick-Off, Mid-Nov, write-ins, and TGIO! I need votes on which is the best date for the Kick-Off!
Mid-October Psyche-Up Party:
October 14th, Sunday
NaNoWriMo Kick-Off!
Either
a- Sunday, Oct 28th,
b- Wednesday, Oct 31st, or
c- Thursday, Nov 1
Mid-November meetup:
Nov 17th, Saturday
TGIO:
Saturday, Dec 1
Write-ins:
Pick either Saturdays (3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th) or Sundays (4th, 11th, 18th and 25th)! Or we can do a mix of both. It's all what's best for you guys!
All events will be downtown in Paperchase Cafe. I'm working on a system to identify you folks so we can all get a 10% discount there.

On Blowers Street, above the Paperchase magazine store.
The store's been there 20-odd years, the cafe's been there for about five.

Just checking in - all dates are alike to me right now - seeing as I only plan to come out of my cave for NaNoWriMo, maybe, probably, if a squirrel doesn't scare me back in or something

Bah, you suck. You've scheduled your Psyche-up for the weekend I'm in Ontario for my cousin's wedding. *pouts*
Ah well. I love you anyway, Jha. ^^

Hey,
For the write-ins, either day of the weekend is good, but for the kick-off it would depend on what time it was for either Wednesday or Thursday. I've got classes at some inconvenient hours on those days.
I'm looking forward to meeting some local writers.

*waves hello to Halifax-area Wrimos*
For the kickoff, Sunday the 28th is better (booo, high school) and it's my birthday. *grin*
Can do either Sat. or Sun. for write-ins - doesn't matter, so long as it's the weekend.

Hi! ^_^ I can make Saturdays or Sundays for the write-ins. For the kick-off, it would depend what time of day it was. I'm also in highschool, so I wouldn't be able to get to Halifax until about five on weekdays.
(I'm Keira, by the way. Was here last year, but didn't have a chance to make any of the meetings)

lonelybluenoser: Welcome back!!! I can't remember your name but I remember I mistook you for someone else, lol. She's left Hali now (boo) so I won't get you confused again! (Yay!)
paperperson: Hello there! You're a new name in my recall! Hope you make it out to events! The socialite squirrels are scary but they don't bite!
Tsuki: You know you're welcome to any of our events! When're YOU having your Psyche-up weekend??
Carleone: Hey Carl! Welcome back!
Keira: Hiya! Hope we'll see you out more often this year!

Hello!
----------I just moved to the Halifax area from Edmonton in August, so I’m a new name. =) I don’t know how many events I’ll be able to get to between working crazy retail hours and a complete inability to navigate myself around your dazzling city but we’ll see!
My first attempt =)

Hi Rennire! Welcome to Halifax! Don't worry; it's a small city we've got, and as long as you carry a map on you, it's fairly easy to get around after a while!

Peter Smith, standing by!
Let's rock this as soon as possible and start it off at the 28th. There's always too many words for a relaxed atmosphere once November begins.
Too many words.
Uh, I prefer sundays in general, if that's alright. I mean, that's what I'm voting for.

Okay so I'm going to feel stupid at asking this lol but Write-ins they're just writing parties right? Say that five times fast. I can make most dates as long as I have some advanced warning. My jobs are going to be picking up shortly so in order for me to get the time I'll have to book... now-ish lol. As soon as we know is cool.
Yes you will need a map to navigate Halifax. As my brother said when we first moved here "It's like they slapped a donkey on the ass and made a road where it walked." That being said it is small and will be pretty easy to get used to just stick to main roads for a bit.

Peter! HOLLAAAAA!
Eddie: Yes they are! Don't feel that you HAVE to make it to ALL the dates if you can't. Work comes first............ NaNo's just the best way of procrastinating. I just need to fix the dates and I'll know by the Psyche-Up Party!

Oh, i'll be able to find the cafe. or i can go in with val / lonelybluenoser and she can help me (we're homies and go to the same school :) )
I'm Kasey, by the way, in case that wasn't quite obvious. :)
Any day is good for me, I've got no obligations on weekends.
Although, oh boy, almost 2 hours on the 80 bus! Such fun!
poo metro transit.
But, yeah, saturdays or sundays.
But for the write ins, would these be in the evening or the afternoon?
Because it'd be hard to get out there in time for a morning one. Plus i'm not a morning person.
:D
Although i'm not sure i'd attend the write-ins. I like to write alone, in my dark bedroom in my basement, just me and the computer light, with some music blaring and my cat at my feet. Preferably at three in the morning. It's when i do my best work!

howdy.. I am good for when ever if I am not working.
I would like to get started early and perhaps get together with people to work out a plot outline and character bible. (all of which are permitted) I am wondering if anyone else would be interested in doing something like that. The sooner the better... I have some useful resources

Hey everyone! Just checking in and saying hi :) I definitely can't do the mid-October party because I'm already busier than heck that day. For the write-ins, Saturdays are preferrable but Sundays are workable. Not that it should really matter to me because chances are I"ll have given up by November 15th anyway LOL But then again, you never know -- the fourth try just could be the charm.
Talk to you all later!

Just post the dates and I'll do my best to be there. Evenings or weekends are best for me (except Fridays as I have yoga).
Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Hi all, I'm Heather. Life swept me away from NaNo last Fall, but my schedule is much more open this year, so I'm going to try to come out to as many meetings as I can.
I vote for Sunday the 28th for the kick off!

Kasey: Write-ins and meetups are usually in the afternoons on the weekends. If we do it weekdays it'll be in the evening.
You're free to not come for the write-ins... not everybody does! It's just fun because we get to do word wars and fun stuff like that.
Mythadology: Hi there! Bring the stuff you'd like to bring for the meetup. There's no guarantee we'd actually sit down and discuss *seriously* our novels, but a few of us might!
jen: Welcome back!! Hope we'll see you for the Kick Off!!
DREA! HEATHER! So good to see you again! Looking forward to catching up with you guys!!

Checking in for my first NaNoWriMo! My name is John Marshall, I'm a 20-year old animator, and I live in Lawrencetown, a nice little burg just outside Dartmouth.
My friend, Aaron Fevens, is doing NaNoWriMo with me, but he doesn't seem to be taking it very seriously and won't sign onto the website or anything. I'll see if I can bring him along.

Er, Hello. I'm Heather. This is my first Nanowrimo. I get the feeling I'm a lot younger than most of you...My friend told me about this, although she may or may not do it this year. I'm not sure.
I can't make the psyshe party, I'm actually having my Birthday party that day. I'm excited to start writing in November though! I'm not entirely clear on the concept of a write in...

hello. it's Jillian. for the third year in a row (and I believe that makes it a tradition) I have a new username, having forgotten my password and the email adress I was using this time last year. oh well.
I'll be there on sunday. sundays are best for me for regular meets, but I'm reasonably flexible. for the kickoff, I'd prefer not the 28th because I'll be away.
I'm so excited to see you guys!!!

Hi! I'm Katie! And I'm actually in Halifax this year! *dances* Erm, yeah. I'm from Lunenburg, and there were never really a lot of NaNoers there, so it was very sad. I'm excited to be able to come to fun meetings and stuff, FINALLY! Although, I probably won't be taking NaNo very seriously this year, because, well, university is insane.
Anyway, Saturdays or Sundays are good with me for write-ins, but I almost definitely can't make the psyche-up party, and the 28th would not be good for the kick-off.

John: Welcome to NaNo 2007! Yes, bring Aaron along if you can. If not, make sure you're there!
FrenchFry: How old are you? We've had 15 year olds at our meetups before (wait, to be honest I'm not exactly sure how old Peter was when he first joined us...) so you'll be okay!
Jillian! Hiya! Can't wait to see you!

well... kinda. First year uni has taken me by surprise, and I'm not sure if I'm actually going to do nanowrimo yet... I kinda have to keep my scholarship.
HOWEVER. I will try to catch up/get ahead so that by november I will be able to do both.
