I'm just wondering if anyone else is going to be using the sponsorship program this year?

As a writer in a small town with a college in it, I lack other NaNo participants to spend my long November nights with. I'm hoping this year to push myself out there by asking around for sponsorship, and then maybe I'll run across a few more participants too.

How about everyone else?

I'm definitely donating, but I won't be doing it through the sponsorship program. I don't actually know anyone who'd be able to spare the cash, frankly. :) But I'm an ML so I get to mingle with other Wrimos anyway -- it's part of my job!

Yea, I'll be donating too, but also not through the sponsorship program.

If I have the money, I'll donate on my own.

In the meantime, I signed up for the sponsorship program. I don't know that I'll get a lot of response, but at least I'm trying, right? And I'd really like to get one of the donor packages.

I'll be donating right after my next trip to the bank! I figure, NaNo has done so much for me and my writing that they've earned it.

I just donated $25 since I have a bit more money than last year (I bought a shirt last year instead). I haven't heard about the sponsorship program. What's that?

I'll probably donate this year, like I do every year, but I won't do it through the sponsorship program. Going around asking for sponsorship sounds miserable to me. I still remember having to do that kind of thing for elementary school programs; I've never missed it.

I must've missed the sponsorship thing somewhere. I've been recruiting like mad, and somebody came back and said it was a con because there was a fee ... wonder if they saw something like that by mistake? I have assured her that it's purely free and donations are voluntary, but haven't heard back yet.

I donated last year, and will do so again this year. I definitely get my money's worth out of the forums. :)

I know I'm going to be donating something, but don't have the money right now and won't for a few weeks (online shopping is not good for me but the books are so pretty!). So I might try the sponsorship, but only with family and friends.

I've donated, but I'm not sure what this sponsorship program you speak of is. I shall investigate and see, but I'm deployed and doubt anyone shipboard would be interested. Most of my shipmates think I'm a freak for reading, much less writing...

I'll donate in a couple of weeks, when I have money. It won't be much, but still. I've never heard of a sponsorship program, and I doubt I'll use it.

LOL. Exactly, I am too. Only one semester away from my exit show! Yes!

Anyway, I'm doing the sponsorship program because I'm a broke little art student, but because I'm nvolved on campus I've already spoken with alot of people who would rather donate money without the novel writing. My sorority is doing a Rock a Thon on November 3rd, where you rock in rocking chairs all night and people donate money, so by my rocking chair there will be the jar for my fraternity, and a jar for NaNo, because I'll be using that time to write.

Since I also spend most of my free time in a hookah bar or Starbucks, my little NaNo mason jar will be traveling there with me as well. Whatever gets put in the jar will get donated, and then I'm throwing a social in my hall to raise money for it as well.

Because I'm a crazeh do - good kinda person like that. ^_^

Probably not donating, but I will be buying a shirt since I'm running the group at my school. If I have any spare money, I might donate.

Bought a shirt (or two),
Bought a mug,
Donated.

I've donated a little every year so far (although the amount has been increasing.) I was even planning on making a donation in 2005 after having failed (again) in 2004 and decided to not actually participate. (Changed my mind at the last minute, and produced my first 60,000 word novel! Wheeeee!)

I already have. I also bought a shirt. I am eternally grateful to the Office of Letters and Light and NaNo, they have been a swift kick in my writing pants (figuratively speaking, I don't actually have pants that write...but that would be useful in November, I should start working on that...)

I'm not doing the sponsorship thing. But I always try to donate or at least buy something.

So I just donated and bought the poster from last year. It will look great on my wall at work and who knows, may inspire some of my co-workers!

I'm thinking of donating. I've bought myself a t-shirt, but I'd like to donate directly as well. Not sure of how much I'll chip in with, but it'll be something, at least.

I would if I could, but I can't afford it. (I did buy a T-shirt, though, so I don't feel like a total moocher.) I can't do anything about sponsorship, since I have no-one to approach.

EDIT: I've just had a look, and donations are now starting at $10, making me feel like a real heel. The currency exchange is still an annoyance, and I'm still pretty broke, but I've at least gone from "no" to "maybe".

EDIT 2: All right, I've scraped up $10. NaNo helped me get over writer's block, so I owe them. And I get a nice warm glow!

Last year, my first year doing NaNoWriMo I donated after I finished my novel, this year I bought a T-shirt and donated some money, my thought being even though I am currently at school and not working I always have $25 somewhere that I can donate. And I feel like I owe them, not only for providing the forums that I love, but also for getting my off of my lazy behind and motivating me to write.
