Who else has a madhouse schedule to contend with while attempting NaNo? Everyone, right? So come on in and let everyone know how dedicated you are! We're like the Post Office, we always deliver no matter what!
My schedule?
Last year's NaNo novel is in editing with its publisher, so there's that.
Another novella will likely begin pre-publication edits in November as well.
Ditto another full length novel, very well might begin its edits in Nov. too.
I am currently working on four other books and one short story. Average about 2-3k a day outside of NaNo.
I'm moving into my new apartment a mere two weeks before NaNo starts, so yay for getting settled and setting the apartment up during NaNo.
The hardest part is going to be making time for the edits for the other books. Editing is harder and more time consuming than writing the darn things!
So how about everyone else? What are your roadblocks to making that NaNo wordcount?

Heh; at least your crazy schedule involves publication! What could more fitting than that?
November/October are my film-making disaster months. My private-funded series is shot all through this month, but the editing and CGI work - all done by me - have to be finished by the end of November. So that ends up with some 12 hours spent writing, and then 11 hours and forty five minutes in the editing suite. (That leaves fifteen minutes to sleep approximately, if that.)
No, lol, I've never had a problem finding time to sit and write. I can shoot out 1,667 in under two and a half hours, so most of my November is going to be *gasp* devoted to non-novelling things.

LOL, yeah I have no complaints. Spent my whole life wanting to be doing nothing but writing, so it's a happy busy schedule!
15 whole minutes of sleep? You lucky bastard, you. I think I can count on both hands the number of hours of sleep I got last year during NaNo. This year will be just as bad, if not worse!

Well...I just recently moved into a new apartment so there's tons of boxes still needing to be unpacked...and I've spent all my time working on my NaNoWriMo outlines as well as a considerable amount of time here on the boards...so I see how well that's going, lol.
I'm getting married on Oct.13 and will be on the honeymoon from the 14th til the 18th...then I have to come back and get settled and write out tons of thank you cards...
By then, it will be the end of October...and hopefully things will calm down a bit come November. But who knows...
All I know is that I am completing this goal of finishing the novel.

I'm a second year special education teacher. I attempted last year and failed...but I tried and I do still plan on finishing the book ~ especially now that I've got more experiences to put into it...even a couple of evil nemesises for my main character. But this year I'm ready and determined. In spite of...
* IEPs being due at some point during the month. I'll only have 3 ~ unless I get a huge influx of children in which case worst case I'll have 10 to do. Which would suck. I'm getting two done next week, so I'll go ahead and get the other 3 written as best I can before November even starts.
* Lesson planning must still go on. I can do broad strokes stuff now, but specifics have to be laid out as I go.
* Grad school classes 2 nights a week along with their assignments.
* A few workshops on Saturday and/or Sunday.
* And already bought theatre and opera tickets. I think that's only 2 nights though.
My plusses?
* I've got a good grip on at least one of my primary characters.
* I have Veteran's Day (observed) off
* I live alone and won't be traveling over Thanksgiving. (Still deciding about going into Manhattan to see the Macy's Parade...I want to do it at least once!)
So I think I'm in pretty good shape... I hope.

Between work, school, and homework, I'll have to get a word done every 13 seconds of my writing time. That means no time for writers block. This is gonna be the toughest year so far for me. Good luck to everyone.

Yeah, I've got college. And in November, there is a day trip to Nogales with my languages teacher(both French and Spanish), then my college is hosting an all-day marching band competition and I have to be there all day, and a football game I have to play and that trip will about two days. That's in the first week and a half. That's not counting any homework or papers I'll be assigned or any social things I'll have to go to or church. And I can't write in a vehicle unless I can't see outside because I'll get motion sickness. I've thrown up in a car before, and that was from a comic book... Although the rest doesn't look too busy other than a jazz concert I have to play at.

I work two jobs.
One of which always gets insane during November.
So I'm going to likely be pulling 60+ hour weeks. Plus MLing, which can be rather more time consuming than you'd expect at times.
(Though it's not that bad. My night job has a lot of slack time, so I can write there. XD)

My manager told me tonight she schedules me the most because I actually do my job. So I have lots of hours at work, which will go up halfway through the month, as all the Thanksgiving movies come out.
Our car will be blowing up spectacularly sometime soon, so we'll be buying a new-ish car or riding the bus every morning.
Along with having to work all major holidays, I have three sets of parents to eat turkey with.
Just to keep myself on my toes, my muse gave me two novel ideas that I'm pursuing. So 100k!
I know, lots of you have more strenuous schedules. Just thought I'd add my list to the thread.

Well, my schedule isn't that crazy since I "only" go to high school, but in the end of November (the 24th actually) my sister is geting married, which means that the house is just a total mess, and everybody's running around and shouting and it's ipossible to get them to understand that I. Me... as usual, I have four exams in November which will be holding on to some part of my attention until the ninth, and will then probably be weighing on my mind just a little until the 30th, when my results come back.
My sister is having a baby at some point in the next month and aside from obligatory visits to squee over the new little one, she's probably going to need help with babysitting, or numerous other things. I also finally convinced my mother to attempt NaNo with me, and although I'm not convinced she actually will, I'm hoping the sight of me working away will convince her to at least approach the computer I got for her, which means I'll spend a lot of time explaining computer stuff to her since she hasn't really used one before.
Oh, and I'm going to a concert on the 23rd, where I'll be meeting up with some online friends coming to my area just for the occasion, and considering we don't get to see one another often, it could turn into quite an event.
Writing-wise, I also have a first draft of a novel that I wanted to have ready to send out long before mid-next year if possible, and I want the completion/rewrite of my 2005 NaNo done by the end of this year.
So... not crazy exactly, but unlike the past two years where I've only had study and exams for the first third of the month, there are going to be quite a few times when I will be away from any writing tools with no idea when I'll get back to them.
And I was thinking of looking for a part-time job while I had the chance, too. *grins* I'm looking forward to November.

Man, I feel almost care-free compared to you guys. ;) All I have to contend with is a University workload. Luckily, most of my mid-terms are in October, and all of my final exams are in mid-December, but there's still all of the essays, readings, projects and such-like in November to contend with. ;_; I'm going to have to do all of my homework before writing everyday, and sometimes that's two or three hours worth of stuff (CURSE YOU, LATIN NOUN DECLENSIONS! D: ). But, I figure if I stay "on schedule" and drink copious amounts of tea, I'll be fine, right?

Yes, well.
I'm moving house on the 29th October, starting a correspondence course in Sept - uni degree in history - and I'm self-employed. I clock in 50 hour weeks without any of the other stuff. Oh, I manage a football team as well.
And I quite like sleeping. But in between, I'm going to have a go at it.

YIKES! Snowfilly, about the only thing you can add to your list of obstacles is writing in English as a second language! I totally respect everyone on NaNo who does that. Actually, it's good that we all overcome "something" to complete NaNo. Perhaps those obstacles make success even sweeter in the end?

1st week- Have the study for exams
2nd week- Exam time (like there wasn't enough stress :P)
3rd week- School camp. Bleargh. Trying to convince my mum not to make me go this year though.
4th week- Lifesaving week. Urgh, please, no... Also trying to get out of that.

November: second year of university. I plan to still be working at least one shift a week, and take four courses. Depending on what I take, that could mean anything from two midterms and one paper, to four midterms, three papers and a lab, all due either in November or in the first couple days of December.

Lessee, this year so far:
My good friend's wedding is on Halloween and a big party/reception is the next day, then I am packing up all my crap and moving to Texas from Ohio, either by bus or if I have a car by that. That means I won't have internet probably for at LEAST a week and will have to shuffle my rough draft between computers and emails and the website.
After I get to Texas I'll need to look for a job and a place to stay, within 5 days. After 5 days I can't stay with my friend Kreyas anymore, I'd need to go somewhere else for a few nights then go back.

Well, to most of you my schedule is light and easy. During August I will be applying for my first job so this November will be my second NaNoWriMo attempt and my first with a job. Hopefully I get a job at a bookstore so the literary vibe will rub off. I will also be trying to fit in ninety hours of spiritual work! I know that I can do it if I come up with a schedule but that's the daunting part . . . coming up with it.
