I know last year there was a few people who where in Albany and doing NANO, so I was wondering if anyone else is doing it again this year from there? I'm going to attempt to do it between work and school, so here's hoping.

So how random is it that we both posted topics on NaNo in Albany at the same time? By the way is this someone I alredy know? I'm pretty sure crackerjack11 is an obvious givaway for people who know me.

I am in Albany, although I have been wrestling with whether or not I should attempt this another year in a row, as I've failed the past two. But perhaps the third time really will be the charm, or maybe the humiliation of looking at my roommate who blew the her 50K last year like it was breathing will spur me to the finish line this time. At any rate, I'm here once again and ready to either make it happen or take my shame like a big girl.
Good luck to everyone!

I'm not in Albany itself, but I'm right up the road! Good to see some SWGA love.

I've failed miserably the past two years, but I too will be aiming to fail again this year.
Actually I'm just lowering the bar in that I've already started, and hope to use the month to 'further' my writing rather than actually finish. I really need to learn to not edit until after I'm finished.

3rd times always the charm, and if not, then sheer determination to finish and not fail again will usually always work to.

Yep, another one here. Just started at the midnight kickoff. Probably going to make a lot of people want to kill me when I finally finish this morning.
What I'm really here for, though, is an open invitation. I say all of us here in the Albany area should meet up at Elements one of these days.
Any takers?
Besides Pareathe, I mean. She's always in and out of there. *grins and ducks*

Dude, I never would have expected so many people from Albany of all places. XD But that's me, always underestimating this town. Anyways, I'm a burnt out college student who's just switched jobs and a writer in desperate need of a sledgehammer to break down my Writer's Block. D: Hence why I joined NaNo; figured it would give me a boost.* Nice to meet y'all. ^^
*Notice it's five days in and not even 1,000 words XD;;

God there a lot more people from Albany this year then there was last year. I think there was what? Only three last year that I remember, or that I saw openly admitting it (sometimes I don't want to admit I'm from Albany).
Speaking of Elements, is it any good? Me and My one friend keep talking about stopping by there one day and checking it out but we never do.
I know everytime I go into BAM and I see someone sitting in Joe Muggs I wonder: Are they doing NaNo... and then I want to hit myself for being so stupid and wondering such things.

Elements is fabulous, and they have a drive-thru. I don't even drive past Starbuck's anymore thanks to Elements.
And I'm a bit floored by how many folks from the Albany area are doing NaNoWriMo this year! I know there haven't been many in the past, but it's great to know I'm not suffering alone this time (despite how bad my word count is at present.) :-)
Well, I'm off to try to catch up a little while I can. Good luck, everyone!

I've never considered myself a 'coffee guy', but I decided to go through the drive through after this post and didn't regret it a bit. In fact, I even enjoyed it.
And just to make this relevant, I'm so horribly behind it's not even funny. I'm glad I entered this year knowing I'd be an "also-ran."
