Well, I know for a fact that college and my French lessons are going to be taking a backseat in my life until the TGIO parties. :) And nonsense novels are the way to go. Have any foundation to said incoherent novel, yet?

Hey,

something along the line of switching genres everyday, but I'm not quite sure how. Much, musch easier for a person like me to paint myself into a corner, but hopefully I'll manage to extricate myself out of them :D Mostly I hope to figure out basically how each genre works...

So you are doing french as well? I'm into my third year of it, though I cant say I know the language very well...

And it'll be wonderful for all of us to meet up! Perhaps we should start thinking of Kick-off parties..

'Ello Niyantri!

First of all, welcome to the Nano experience! I'm sure you'll have a great time writing during november!

It's not hectic at all (well... not very... ) :D. Its fairly simple when you try to stay ahead of a schedule of sort, (a lot of people try to do 2000 words a day, so that there's space for bad days) and absolutely never go back to edit. That done, its a piece of cake! And off course we'll all be here to give you support and a shove in the right direction now and then :P

Hey folks,

Name is Sagaro, final year student. Second shot at NaNoWriMo. Darn the end sem exams, which always fall mid-November, killing my novel.

I second the thought of all of us meeting up sometime before we all get set.

cheers,
Sagaro

Thanks, that's good to hear! It feels pretty scary; there's no one my age here attempting this! I'm in my final year of school....

Hey Sagaro!

My end sem exams are getting over on nov 3rd! hah! But we're starting our college play shortly afterwards, so instead of exams (which I can ignore at will) I've got a play to handle!

So which course are you doing?

Niyantri,

If you are in the last year of school, then you must be 16 or 17 right? That probably means I am just a few months older than you, or perhaps ever the other way around! I still have 7 more months to go before I turn 18... And off course there are people on this site who are 13 and going for it with full gusto! so it'll be no problem at all for you :) If you are looking for company of people your age, try the "teens" forum, it's a great place to hand out!

Luck bum! I wish I could say, that my exams could be ignored at will. Being in final year, I don't have the luxury to have an arrear or two... have to be extra careful.

Theatre, cool! I did try my hand on that, but miserably failed, so I took to film making. :D Best of luck with your play and please do pass us some free pass :P

I do B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SVCE... yup! Pretty unfortunately.

You?

Cheers!

Yup, I just turned 17! That's reassuring...for some reason I thought everyone on this Chennai forum are in college! Where do you study?

Lol! Not that I would love to have arrears.. but still! :D

Anyway, I'm more keen on the backstage part of theatre, than the part under the spotlight.... for some reason that appeals to me more.

Film making sounds interesting! Got any to your name as yet? And what kinda eqipment do you guys use?

hehe. My brother is doing his last year at SVCE but in Automobile engineering.. :D So I'm used to weird SVCE engineering students I guess! :D

As for me, I'm doing my first year in Stella Maris, Eng Lit

Er.. I am in college. :P

If it counts for anything, I've been here only for four and a half months :P. I am doing my first year in English Literature in Stella Maris, did my schooling in Good Shepherd. You?

I'm doing 12th in The school-KFI and wouldn't be too surprised if you haven't heard of that school! Hardly anyone has, and even if they have heard of it they have such crazy notions about it that some of them make me want to laugh :) so yeah...Eng lit in Stella? Some of my seniors are probably your classmates then, actually...so I guess you would have heard of my school:D

have you finished planning your novel?

KFI is a pretty awesome school. Most of my good friends, seniors, juniors and ultimate frisbee team-mates are from that school. I think KFI is quite popular.

Final year, automobile engg., svce. Interesting. Could you please tell me his name? I might know him since I have quite a few friends in Automobile dept.

That said, even I am more of a not-so-interested-to-be-in-spotlights type. Only in my case, instead of backstage, I am behind the camera. Four of us joined up to start our own productions "iPirate" as in "I pirate films" like the touchstone pictures/dreamworks films types. We guys are working on our third film, the script for which is being painfully put together by us.

"So I'm used to weird SVCE engineering students I guess! "

Hey,hey.. hey! I maybe unfortunate, but I certainly am not weird :P

Stella Maris... hmmm... been spending all my Sundays at that place for MockCAT and SimCAT tests...

So my computer just let me down at the cruelest of times. Well, I still have my old trusty desktop with its faulty keyboard and all ... well, I'm just postulating my excuse for my sudden hiatus from the thread. Sorry about that. I'm in the English Literature camp, too. Freshman at the Tamil Nadu Open University, and I'm doing level one French at the Alliance Francaise. :)

I'm all for a kick-off party! I'll help organize, if need be. :)

and hopefully this year's entry will be better if not complete - all thanks to end sems and other misc. things happening JUST now. :)

ello!

welcome back! :D

anyway... english and french huh? planning to go into translation or something of that sort? Alliance is a nice place.. but their level 2 courses have very strange timings.

So far there is around five of us wrimo's wrecking havoc in chennai, and I'm quite sure more will be joining the bandwagon soon... so then everyone, any bright ideas for possible venues and timings?

hey,

I have heard of the name KFI (for some reason my mind keeps jumping to Kentucky fried chicken :D)but can't recall anything about it in particular. But then usually this kind of info tend to give me wide berth as I can never hold it in my head... really? what are their names?

As for my novel, I've been so taken up by the awesomeness of the idea of writing a genre shifting non sense novel I havent thought of much else. :D

you?

Hey,

The name is Ravi Shankar (though what you'll achieve by finding him eludes me :P), this is a blog he's part of, you might find some familiar faces there... http://redliners.wordpress.com/

Camera huh? I get behind the lens for photography, but have never considered film making. ipirate sounds fascinating, so you guys have any trailers uploaded anywhere?

Sundays?! What an unfortunate day for a guy to spend on stella campus! :P

Hey suraksha!

Welcome back! :)

But... that is the charm if nano.. you can write the cheesiest, stupidest, most plot hole ridden novel ever possible to humanity but it will be forgiven because
1) Thousands of other people across the globe are doing the same
2) It was crammed into one month
3) It pushes the cheesiest part of your imagination to its limits!
so then, don't be too bothered about the quality of the work you churn out for nano, no one really cares are long as we're having fun :D

Got any plans for this year's novel?

=) Writing last year's nano brought out quite a few thing in curious perspective - so i'm glad i wrote it, if not for anything else! :D

and this year's novel - Cherry Blossoms - the turbulence of people in one's life. I think. :) Have to figure out stuff to actually PUT in it :P

and your genre shifting thingum sounds wacky =))

Nope don't know him! He is got a nice blog there. I know Tandeep though. You into photography, great! Are you a part of the CPC (Chennai Photographers club)?

Since all four of us are technically challenge, the iPirate site is still under-construction. Have to put enthu and do it sometime. And then you maybe able to see the trailers.

Nah! CAT does require a lot of concentration. Good it is on Sundays, when Stella is dry.

Cheers

Hmm, I think we should hold the kick-off party -next- weekend, 'cause people are still milling in. Give 'em some leverage time. And I'm not really going into translation as much as being scarily obsessed with linguistics, and I'm tending to favor Latin-based languages at the moment. I'm looking for a course in Latin but I have to admit the Roman tongue isn't exactly thriving on the streets. :D

Amethyst sounds like a sweet idea. I'm not sure where Anokhee and Ascendas are, though. Blame it on me spending more of my days bathed in a soft LCD glow rather than warm sunlight.

Nah.. my photographical interests don't run that deep, though hopefully, some day they will. I lack any knowledge on the technical side besides the usual shutter speed, apperture exposure and stuff like that. So let us know when the site goes up.. if you guys are too lazy to do that, why not use something like youtube to upload clips?

Anyway... what plans for november?
