Hey Guys,
It's early for me again, but I wanted to say, "HI!!!1!". Because it's that kind of morning and I'm psyched. I'm going to throw up some fliers on the KSU campus today (I've already posted one at work) and see what I can do about getting some at the local libraries.
First off, I think we need a sweet writerly name for our region so I can post something like, "Pirate Warrior Time Traveling Ninjas Who Write More Than Everyone Else" as our region heading for you in the forums when you need to see something. Give me your ideas!
Secondly, I need a headcount. For swag things. Yay! So even if you don't usually post in the threads, post here, so I know you're there. Don't worry, I can't bite you over the internet, so no fear. ^_^
Third, have you guys heard the Madonna song "Hung Up"? It's seriously awesome.
Fourth, I'm trying to rustle up some people to meet at Varsity this Friday. It's Monday morning now, and I think maybe I was a little too short notice about saying Tuesday in the other thread. Just think about that chocolate milk with ice in it, and raise your hand if you're coming, or might come, or what time.
Fifth, go forth my little WriMos and lure in more writers, and would-be writers, and people that don't even know that deep down inside they have the Great American Novel ready to burst forth like in the Alien movies... Er. Only in a much better way, and non-lethal. (Sorry, I haven't had my coffee yet.)
Sixth, if you go to the music forums they're organizing the traditional CD exchange, where you make a CD with writing music on it, and trade it with other WriMos for ultimate noveling power. I'm doing it, so it's easy for me to make more CDs if you guys want to trade too. Let me know if you do. ^_^
Ok. I'm gonna go find the coffee. See you later!

How could you not be psyched? It's almost NaNo time! Now, in order of inquiry:
1) "Pirate-Warrior Time-Travelling Ninjas" is hella cool. Add in "Magic-Wielding Bodice-Ripping Soul-Searching Zombie-Killing" and I think we've covered almost all the genres.
2) *waves hand vigorously* Obviously I'm here. Did you think you would escape the presence of your Evil Lieutenant?!
3) Nope, haven't heard it. You can corrupt me next time I see you!
4) Count my ass in for the Varsity, as long as it's after 6pm. You know, there's that inconvenient thing called "work" I have to deal with.
5) I have lured my co-worker and potentially a co-teacher. Have I fulfilled my quota, or must I stalk forth and bludgeon a few unsuspecting souls to be dragged in by their hair?
6) I think I shall be bringing my ancient, yet timeless, "Badass" mix for sharing, if folks are interested.

4. No, I counted you in automatically, and if you weren't there the party was coming to your house. *evil, ominous laughter* Oh, btw, Moonlight is on on Friday. And she's totally going to get bitten. *shudder* Want to come over and watch it with me? (/me pretends that doesn't sound like "want to see my etchings")
3. There's freerunning in the video. And breakdancing. And Madonna dances in this leotard thing that manages to cover nothing at all.
4. What is this 'work' you speak of? How's the ghost?
5. Hrr. *pictures caveman!safira* LOL

1.) I'll bet that's fun to say after the first pot of coffee!
2.) *raises hand timidly, wondering if reciting above name while over-cafinated is a requirement*
3.) Nope, haven't heard it.
4.) Not sure about Friday, will have to confer with DH
5.) Definitely trying to get co-worker to enlist, but so far he is resisting the brainwashing...uh, suggestion.
6.) I will sort through my iTunes for something suitable
*sips steaming hot latte* Mmmm, coffee.

1. So if we time-travel, we can write while we're asleep, and if we're pirates/ninjas, we can steal everyone else's words?
2. *waves sword of Head Count +1*
4. *raises hand* I'm always up for the Varsity (the one outside Town Center Mall, right?), and can be there anytime after six on Tuesday or any time at all this Friday.
6. Sadly, I haven't decided on any themes for this crop of characters... *shame*

1. Yes. And, as a bonus, Pirates get Wenches. Funny thing: Ninjas don't. I'm still a little astounded by that fact.
4. Yes, the mall Varsity on Friday. Anyone have any particular times they're free then? I think I saw someone say eight, and I can be there pretty much all night except for my fiendish love for Moonlight and omg Beth is getting bitten this week. Sorry, I'm a total fangirl. ^_^

1. Nothing to be astounded by, it's perfectly logical.
A ninja, being a "Stealth Death.... From Above!" sort, has no time for wenching; he is too busy flipping out and killing people while striking from the shadows. Also, hanging about with wenches is not exactly unobtrusive; one cannot engage in wenching while being invisible, and ninjas are all about the Art of Invisibility (if they aren't, then Splinter will make them do ten flips now while making a funny).
As for pirates, wenching is an important component of the pirating ethos. I mean, what's the point of being a bloodthirsty, plundering bucanneer if one cannot use one's ill-gotten gains to woo comely wenches at some seedy port-of-call?
4. Sadly, I've had something come up and will have to bow out. Y'all have fun, and maybe I'll catch the next one.

Ugh, I am sickly and weak...CURSE YOU, PATHETIC IMMUNE SYSTEM! I might still go if I have energy, but then I'll probably leave right after I get done eating, so if I miss folks, I'll catch you another time.

Just found out about this this morning (thanks for the e-mail to the group, Whitney). I'll try to make it for at least a little bit. I've never eaten at the Varsity, but I've heard a ton about it.

1. You forgot vampires. How could you forget vampires?! Magic-Wielding Bodice-Ripping Soul-Searching Zombie-Killing Pirate Warrior Time Traveling **VAMPIRE** Ninjas Who Write More Than Everyone Else. Works for me.
2. Headcount +1.
3. I haven't heard it, but I really like Tori Amos's cover of Like a Prayer.
4. Thank goodness for time traveling. This is my RSVP to let you know I'll be joining you at The Varsity last night, and it'll be really nice meeting you. ;)
5. My critique group meets on Sunday. I know they do Nanowrimo, so I will see if I can lure them into joining us for a write-in.
6. I mostly listen to Angsty McEmopants type music, but if anybody's into that, just let me know.

Consider this my late check in. I've been hiding in the shadows for a while, ninjas just do that.
Anyways, I've got some peoples in the area into this shindig, hopefully they'll write like crazy and make me keep up. Let me know of any future plans to get together and hang and write or whatever.

The madness all starts tomorrow, so I thought I'd wish everyone luck with their novels. Here's to another month filled with zombies, ninjas, quests and hundred-page prologues!

Hello?
*taptaptap* Is this thing working? I hate public speaking.
Greetings! I live in south Canton. I am interested in possibly knowing some NaNo people. I missed the kick-off and the first write-in and the varsity thing. I didn't join NaNo until Nov 1st, so I am a bit behind in socializing.
I wirte slow and very little. I will never make 50,000 words in 30 days. But I would love to be involved.
Anyone?
Are the lights supposed to be this bright? Is there an audience?

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing! I only signed up for this insanity yesterday...
I don't know if I'll be able to attend any of our meetings, as I'm unable to drive. I hate epilepsy! Either way, I work at Starbucks part time so I'll have plenty of coffee to keep me going PLUS I get a free lb of coffee a week!!
I wish I could meet up!! That would be lots of fun!!
I'd invite everyone here for free coffee and lots of 'what have I gotten myself into', but I live with my dad -dispite being old enough to have 18 year old children- and, based on past experience, I know he wouldn't appreciate a house full of people!
No idea what my novel will be about or titled... I think I'll just sit down and type - no one will know what's to come - me included. Sounds like fun!
How about this for a region name: Biker iguanas from hell on acid!
