Yikes, I’ve just realized that October is already more than halfway over. And all I’ve got is a bare-bones outline. Not that it’s a bad thing, of course, but there are probably a lot more people more prepared then I am.
So how is everyone’s novel planning (or lack thereof) going? Do you have a plot? Putting on the final touches to your twenty page outline and raring to go? Going to sit back and write by the seat of your pants? Or maybe somewhere in between?

I've got...............
Nothing! Absolutely nothing! And october is rotting away before my very eyes.
I get little brain children.
Oh, I'll make such and such.
Or oh, this could be a start.
Then quick like lightning, they're gone.
Oh deary me....maybe I'll just "write what I know" and do another cleverly disguised autobiography like last year. >:U

Planning? What is this thing you speak of?
Actually I hope to have the whole thing planned out before I start. I've got it in my head to do my 50k in rhyme. I know I can do it, but I need to have everything ready so all I have to do is translate it into a ballad type thing, instead of trying to come up with the plot as well.
So far I have the first 300 words planned. I've looked into my crystal coffee cup though and I foresee many nights of frantic plot making just before November 1st.

I have the beginning of a story, but no idea where I'm going to go with it. I keep getting ideas then throwing them out cuz they just stink. I realized that late night thinking probably isn't a good idea for me lol. Last night I had a whole plot mapped out in my head and I woke up this morning and remembered it and realized it was way too stupid to make even a mediocre story. Guess I should brainstorm a few new ideas.

Writing by the seat of your pants isn't so bad...especially if you're very good at doing things off the cuff.

Augh. My replies don't make any sense without context.
Elouise: Writing by the seat of your pants isn't so bad...especially if you're very good at doing things off the cuff.
Morel: Wow, that's really impressive to have the first words already planned out. I'm not even sure *how* I'm going to begin mine.
kitkat5505: Just as there are no stupid questions, there are no stupid ideas in Nano. Heck, if you've summarized some great classic novels in a few words, even they sort of sound stupid.

lol! Don't be too impressed! :-P I'm working off of an ongoing series and they all start the same, so I didn't really have to work to hard at that. I did have a bit of a brainstorm the other day and drew a partial map for my story. So I know where my MCs are going, just not sure what they'll do when they get there!

I'd planned on having this thing completely mapped down to the scenes by this time. What do I have? A general idea of the beginning and the end, and very little in between. ^^; I'm hoping to wake up and find a complete outline tied up in ribbon under my pillow, compliments of the NaNo fairy. It's my only hope. ;_;

That is the other half of fun when writing. Always thinking of a plot. But I think right now I'm just doing a "cleverly" disguised autobiography,. But seeing that makes it seem like I can't be creative, so I guess I need some random time-traveling ninjas to appear and kill something.
