Hey peeps!

So our opening pre-Nano party of awesome went over very well. A great, animated group of people who I'm sure will seemingly all complete the 50k.

We decided as a group to have weekly get-togethers so that we can rant or rave about the wonderfulness of Nano.

Place: Hava Java Coffee Shop, St. John's
Date: Mondays
Time: 7pm

Just look for a bunch of people laughing about downloading hamburgers and such. I'm sure it will be quite obvious who we are.

See ya'll there, and good luck!

--Jam

PS: Not Monday, October 29. We won't have written anything, silly willies.

Probably not this monday coming up, but hopefully I can make it to a few of these. Meet people who are just as crazy as me. People who think writing 50000 words in one month is fun.

Why can't I have that attitude towards my studies?!

Because then I wouldn't be a real University student, I 'spose.

Gah.

Hey guys!

Well we had our first meeting, and sadly, only four of us (plus one friend) showed up! I had received near-ten RSVP's, so I was disappointed with the turn-out, but we managed to have fun anyway. Nothing productive (of course) but still good.

Next week, Monday the 12th, we're going to try to bring substantial excerpts from our novels so that we can read and know how/what other people write and get some insight on our own work.

I hope to see you all there!

Hava Java, 7pm, November 12th.

Wellity, wellity, wellity.

No one is here. Well, Ben and Lilly and I are here. That leaves something like eighty of you who are not here. Good. A+.

We're still going to be here every Monday, whether you like it or not. That's right. It's a threat of some sort.

Now, I'm going to go drink another expensive latte and then I'm leaving. That's right.

EDIT: ALSO, Angus showed up. Werd.

Um, I won't be there again tonight. D: Actually, it's because I'm really trying to push myself to finish this novel this week, so I need to take whatever extra time I can get to do it, but this means that if I pull it off, I'll have a finished novel next week! (Which means... maybe out of 50k, I'll actually be able to get a decent sized excerpt. XDD) Sorry about that, especially considering the lack of turn-out last week. xP

Hey hey, my naughty little donkeys!

This week's little pow wow is cancelled due to several things, not limited to the fact that it's shitty out and I'm not changing outta my pjs, thank you, and that it would only be, as far as we can tell, me, James and Angus. Hey fun, but still.

SO.

Next week, I think at least twenty new people should show up because this week is cancelled. Yep. It's only logical. I did the math.

to sum up:
This week's meeting? CANCELLED.
Next week's meeting? The Event of the century.

Anyway, good night and goodluck, my wee writers, and hope to see y'all in masses at next week's meeting!

I'm going to try to be there tonight (hopefully, a bit early, so I don't have that problem that I had the last time I was at a meeting - you know, ended up on the bus that was heading back to the garage and had to switch busses and ended up nearly an hour late. Durr) - just as long as my stupid stomach calms down, and I can manage to leave by around five or so.

I'll be there, maybe even on time this week. The word on the street (and by street I mean three posts up) is that it's going to be the event of the century.

Guess who are the best MLs on Earth?

I'm glad you said that, because I've bad news!

I, as in Lilly, the ML who doesn't really do anything but post messages that are boarding on a familiarity with you lot that is just creepy, have a paper due on Lucifer and Faustus tomorrow morning, thus cannot make the meeting.

James, the other ML, also cannot make the meeting. HOWEVER. ALL IS NOT LOST. Don't cry yet, darlings.

First of all, let me clarify darlings as carla and angus. As you two are probably the only ones going.

Second of all, NEXT week is really going to be the event of the century, no fooling this time. Because it will be the 'Thank God It's Over' Party of fun times! Heey!

So, bottom line:
The MLs will not be at the meeting tonight, so if you lot don't want one to go down, that's fine. If you still want to meet and chat, also fine! Hey, you can talk about us since we won't be there! And heeey, I see Carla and Angus are finished, congrats from here in my home, where I am buried in papers!

Next week, monday, no doubt, there will be a meeting. A meeting to celebrate the end of the meetings! Yay! I do apologize for being lame, but papers are calling and I just gotta pick up or the phone'll just keep ringing and ringing...and I'll fail. And y'all don't want that, do you?

Sorry again, and can't want to see you lot on Monday with your finished works so we can talk about them and read them and all that stuff people do when meeting about writing!

Slighted again, sad times. I'd go off and find some corner to cry in, but I think I'll go shopping instead. Maybe a new pair of shoes will cheer me up.

Anyway, see ya'll next week.. good luck with the evil paper.

*is actually at Hava Java right now*

And guess what? I can't make next week's meeting. xPP I'll be home in Carbonear (because when I'm studying for exams I need the least amount of distractions I can get) until the 5th. I can't win this year, can I? xPP

(By the way, if anyone wants to drop in anyway at Hava Java anyway, I'll be here probably till around 7:30, 8 o'clock. I'm in the very back of the place, attempting to work on a paper for one of my English classes. We can talk about NaNo stuff anyway or whatever - procrastination is my friend. XDD)

OH NO!

Oh carla. my love. I shall make it up to you in medieval class by actually doing the reading and drowning out that guy. You know who I'm talking about. Yep.

Aw sad-New shoes cheer you up?

Also sad? I need new boots, so the snow in my sneaker tells me. And my wet socks concur.

Yes, next week! Which will be the event of the century. I'm going to keep saying that until it's true. And thank you! It truly is evil, what with the devil and the soul selling and...Yep.

Yes, yes, yes, oh my Jebus yes, we will be getting together tonight at 7pm at Hava Java!

I'm trying to think what I can do to make it "the event of the century", as Lilly so wonderfully put it. Those of you who finished, I'd love to read an excerpt of your finished work! Anyone who feels comfortable should bring their stuff - I'm sure we'd all like to check out what other writers wrote!

See you all tonight!

Great, I'll be there. How do I spot nanowrimo people? Are there distinguishing characteristics to look out for such as battered finger tips and word counts written in ball point on the backs of hands, bloodshot eyes propped open with tooth picks, nanowrimo tatooed on foreheads, laptops worn around the neck the way hot dog vendors carry their wares? Do you meet upstairs or down?

Oy gevalt, my internet is being a bitch today.

Upstairs is where we've been rolling, yeaah. And you can spot us by looking like you are looking for us and we'll be like 'heeey' and whisper about you for a moment then motion you over and ask if you are looking for Nano people. And then say we aren't because that's how we make funnies. And then yeah. You sit down?

Anyway! Maybe I'll make a sign to help! Probably not. But who knows!

I see from the Yiddish that you are a member of the chosen few.
I'll be expecting a sign. Bolt of lightning, perhaps?

Thanks, guys, for coming out last night. It was ineresting to meet you all. I feel a little guilty for not having made it to your earlier meetings, but I'm not sure I could have managed to go to meetings and finish my novel. I can understand how it must be hard for moderators to finish a novel.

If at first you don't succeed, sky diving may not be for you!
