Well, I have to admit to SF as well (so does everyone here who isn't writing fantasy...)
But to a somewhat dystopic kind of future. Though I just might break down in the middle and start throwing in them ninjas.

I'm headed toward something between comedy, magical-realism, and biography! I'm fairly sure I'm going to have to go everywhere to accomplish my 50K though. Ninjas, pirates, song lyrics, dream sequences - I'll do what I have to!

i'm still not sure. it's definitely fiction but taken from my life with the names changed to protect the innocent.
which period i'm still not sure.
all my friends say they don't need to watch soap operas on tv, my life is plenty enough for them.
could be in the us, could be in israel.
pretty sure it's english, tho.

I... I... I don't know :(
----------Fantasy, probably. Maybe magical realism. Might go for SF. We'll see how it goes. Still have a couple of days to decide, right?

My story is going to be an urban fantasyish thing. "Digital Watches" is set in a time/place much like today's, where magic is entering the world, and causing havoc. A small band of (I'm not sure what) are fighting it, and their trademark is the digital watch (signifying technology vs. magic). I don't know how to make it last 50,000 words...I don't know what it comes out to. I should probably word-count my short stories and see how it goes.

This time I'm going to try to write what I suppose would be called "historical fiction". I call it "historical romance" cause the driving issue, beyond the historical circumstances as they affect the protagonists, is the romance between them. But then again I guess any decent story has to have some "love interest".

surprise, surprise, I'm also writing SciFi. Something dealing with classic space pirate/virtual reality/engineering colony from the perspective of four different women... still thinking about it.

What I have in mind isn't really SciFi, but it is speculative, situated in the near future and will hopefully be a Prequel to my first Nano'05 (-winner) which turned out to be a Post-Apocalyptic Dystopian Coming-of-Age Quest Romance novel. ;-)

So i just started otu with some characters, but basically i'ts trning into a piece about the years after undergraduate for some american frum jews and dealing with dating, settling down, careers and all that fun stuff. It's set in Chicago, where I used to live and characters are based on various amalgamtions of people i KNow, but I'm trying to avoid have any one character be just one person I know with a different name. If nothing else, becasue I don't want people coming after me and complaining that I portrayed tehm unflaterringly.
