It looks like my Nano plot is about to change already.
The new story is an adventure/quest type of story where the main character has to gather clues and resolve a puzzle before other people do. She is helped (or maybe hampered?) by a big dog and a man that is afraid of the dog for some reason.
And that is about as much of the dream as I can remember right now, but it seemed like such a good idea for a story, so I'm using it.

A group of teenagers think they are in control for the first time in their lives, only to find out that they are the farthest from it. And the only one who can get them out of this situation thinks he is useless.

Wow. Inez, if you're still doing the clue-related quest one with the big dog and the man I want to read it when you're finished! I'd love if you could send me a copy when you finish! I love quest/travel type stories as you probably know :p
My novel is apparently about a time-travelling / reincarnated ( ? ) sociopathic psycho killer.
Or about a series of unrelated characters and stories each in a different genre including but not limited to: romance, horror, thriller, suspense/mystery, drama, and so on and so forth.
And it's not that I haven't decided yet, it's just up to the reader to decide how they want to take it.

Mine is a fantasy novel starring the usual elves, humans and orcs, along with a few oddities like warwolves, messenger birds and the eilanarth. However, nothing is quite as it seems: the elves are losing the war, the humans are somewhat oblivious, and the orcs are trying to have a revolution. The Eilanarth want to conquer the world, and the warwolves... well, I haven't figured out what their opinion is yet. It would take a long time to explain in detail, but basically the slaves of the enemy are attempting to throw their masters out before their side wins, leaving them slaves forever more. Other people are trying to help the orcs, or are still under the impression that all orcs are monsters and are trying to kill them off. It varies. Revolutions, assassinations, terrorism?, non-violent resistance, large battles, and lots of espionage and counter-espionage are all afoot more or less simultaneously.

Mine's a dual romance with a twist - the guys are from Floran7, a planet a few galaxies away. They were enroute to consult with some of Earth's environmental scientists when high levels of pollution in our atmosphere caused their engines to fail. They crash landed on an organic farm in the Saint John River Valley. Forced to trust the mother and daughter team who owned the place, they ward off military forces from both Canada and the United States and accomplish their mission with some unexpected help along the way.
