I'm not in Brisbane right now, but I'm there at least once a week to buy up all the good cereal and chocolate bars.
Landsborough is the New Hotness, in case you hadn't heard. Where is Landsborough? It probably helps to explain that the first stop on the local bus routes up here is usually Australia Zoo, five minutes down the road. Sunshine Coast, an hour north of Brisbane. Lots of... wet.. green... things. I moved here less than a month ago and I love it to bits! I haven't watched TV at all since I got here, and instead I'm taking perverse enjoyment watching the Christmas beetles (proper shiny pretty ones!) land on the back patio, fall over on their backs and wriggle for between two and nine minutes each time. They just aren't built for landing on concrete, it seems. Poor shiny pretty things, I watch you fall over and you can't get up... then I giggle. Bugs are way better than television.
Prior to moving here I'd moved ten times in two years, originally coming from the Brisbane CBD. Concrete jungle to absolute isolation? I'm doing a whole lot better than I thought I would be.

I'm on the Gold Coast - Robina to be precise - but I spend a lot of time in Brisbane. I have friends in New Farm I hang out with a lot.
I'll be living in Teneriffe/New Farm for about 10 days from this weekend while I house-sit for a friend who has to travel to Romania for work. I'm really looking forward to it as the apartment is lush.
A picnic in New Farm Park might not be unreasonable, hmm?
