9.34am, day one, and I'm at... zero words.

I have to move today! And I'm sick! Give an ML a break.

Well to be fair, I'm at work... :P

The funny thing about writing is that whether you're doing it well or you're doing it poorly, it LOOKS the exact same... that's actually one of the main ways that writing is different from ballet dancing. ~John Green

2:23pm on Day One and at 0 too. I was up past midnight and sat there with my laptop and couldn't think of how to start. :/ Well, actually I was mainly debating over which of two ideas to do, and I think I know now, so hopefully I'll actually start typing things up after work, hehe.

... Stupid school / after school activities. Oh well. I can't completely turn my back on my social life. Or lack thereof.

I'm at about the same, just over 25K. I was doing better, but my laptop died, and I had to go back to a backup. I ended up losing a couple chapters and a couple days, but I resurrected the laptop and I'm back at it again... typing like crazy at 1am...

I'm nearing 30k (still haven't updated my word count meter in like, forever). I just realised that I have spent 15k on a single day. Yeah. I need to really pick up the pace, because I'm going to end up really squishing together the whole conflict of the thing, and it's going to go by really fast. XDD Which, I think, is the same thing I did last year. Durr. xPP

Oh wells. Back to writing, I suppose. XDD

Almost end of day 18 and I'm at...

13544.

Gah, too much other stuff on the go. Every time I walk past an alleyway I get mugged by exams or work or a lack of inspiration.

I can still make it!

So... it's day 25, how's everyone holdin' up? I'm barely getting in the minimum 1667 words a day; the past few days were really terrible, and I just managed to grind out 1700 by forcing myself to write to 2 in the morning. Today's going pretty good though, and now I'm just 900 words or so over the minimum wordcount I need for the 25th.

(I was just about to go and make a topic about this).

Well, as you can see, I'm finished. Finished on Thursday night, actually - verified it last night at the stroke of midnight. I suddenly have too much free time now on my hands (which, oh yeah, I should be spending on schoolwork. >.> <.<). My story kinda rounded itself out, and it actually has a proper ending and all (I still don't know if I can find a good excerpt out of it all though. xPP I'm way too picky).

You can do it, everyone (who's still in the game, that is. xPP)! *flails*

Congrats Carla!

I finished at 9 or so Saturday morning. Needless to say, I didn't get too much sleep on Friday. I've been trying to relax since I finished but I'm suffering from serious withdrawal. The 20s and early 30s were tough to get through, but after that it flew and the rest was like chocolate-covered awesome. There's nothing like the 40s where the thousands are like a countdown, except, uh upwards.

What I came out with was only the first part of the novel (of three distinct parts, by time periods). I was pulling towards the ending of the section, not the ending of the story, but it still felt damn fine to see that 5 up front. I'm going to start in on the second part tomorrow. I actually went back and read a bunch today, and it wasn't that awful and there was actually stuff in there I really liked. It blew my frickin' mind hole. Amazing what pressure and time can do (any geologists in the house?).

Congrats, yourself! :D

I know what you mean by withdrawal - I haven't been able to find something to do with myself since I finished on Thursday. I don't feel like starting what I should be doing, but on the other hand, it's not like I have NaNo to distract me now from doing so. And while I have some other storylines I want to work on, I don't think I'm quite ready to work on them so soon after NaNo (I always have this period where I know I need to take a break for my brain's sake). I found the 20ks and 30ks difficult, too - it was like it just never ended! D: And then I hit 39k and was like, "Okay, there's an end coming. Finally". :D It was so great to hit 45k and realise I was thisclose to the end now.
