Anyone else stuck?
haha
It's day 1 and I still haven't even taken 5 minutes to consider what to write about.
This will be a very interesting project.
I'm determined, though. I've done it for 5 years, and I know it's not too hard if I keep current with the first week. That gives a great deal of momentum to keep on in the following weeks.
What is everyone writing about in 1 sentence or less?
I think think think that mine is going to be
girl slowly breaks down after traumatic experience
But who knows? I haven't written a word yet. :)

It will get done. It will be stupendous.

I can choose between two options: wordflow, shaping landscapes, or finishing part three of the trilogy that I started two years ago. last one starts with finding my manuscript floating in the lake, because the people in the story didn't agree with the text.
good luck to you all!

I'm working on a story that's been forming in my head over the past two years. I just never got around to writing any of it down. NaNoWriMo was exactly the kick in the butt I needed to get going. So the writing is good so far today, and I don't forsee getting stuck at all during the month. My problem is in finding a quiet place to work. This is NOT paradise, what with construction going on next door, friends visiting who I have to cook for and entertain, the phone ringing, emails to answer, and just the general hectic life of a Caribbean island. I managed to get more writing done in a coffee shop in Toronto when I went back there for a visit this summer...
In a sentence, my novel is about two inseparable girls, friends for life, or so they thought, who have serious a falling out, but then meet up again much later as older women.

ooh.. the last option sounds great. I love metafiction!
Have you read Italo Calvino's If on a winter's night a traveler?
I bet you'd love it!

Yup, right after day 1.
I had a thought to write a semi serious book again this year like I did in my first nano year Day 1 went OK, then came day 2...
Day 3 was more like day 2 than day 1 so the most I think I am hoping for at this point is to get enough of the actual story created so that I may be able to salvage something on rewrite.
If anyone dares look for themselves:

I really need to figure out how to get those things ordered properly...
Oh, and besides the block, I am also in the heavy procrastination mode. Tweaking my programs and scripts that help in my nano projects and mucking about in my nano spreadsheets.
all the best,

I was like that for all of 10 seconds, then a story came to me, all I need to do is channel it properly. It's Fantasy Fiction with roots in reality, if that makes any sense. I got the character totally ready made and everything. I think my brain needs an outlet >.<

I was like that for the first few hours. I scrapped the 800-plus words I wrote and started over. So far, it's been working fine. Good luck.
