So I'm sitting in Murky Coffee with Casey and Eric. And we're all wondering if more people in Arlington are looking for writing groups. We're thinking of coming here [Murky Coffee; 3211 Wilson Blvd; 2 blocks from Clarendon Metro] on Saturdays. Free parking at the 12-hour meters on weekends! Look for a book standing on end surrounded by people typing furiously. Hope to see you soon!

Wow Rachael, that sounds like a lot of fun and a great idea. I would meet you guys there, but I am working until at least 500p. Don't know if you will all be there then.
I am in another writing group in Arlington that meets every Wed night at the B&N in Clarendon. We will probably devote at least one meeting this month to nanowrimo. We are on meetup.com if you want to check us out.

Some of us may also try to get together at various points during the month. We can let you know if we do if you like.

Guys,
I can't make it Saturday. I'll be in Pennsylvania. If Casey could reply to this, it would allow me to put you both on my Writing Buddy list. I don't know if there is another way.

----------Everything I write is genious. (Note: When you're really rolling, genius has an o in it. That should be a Nano rule or scripture or something, maybe just my new signature.)

The Saturday wite-in at Ballston Common Mall - Food Court was a success. The bummer is that parking in the garage costs a buck, but that is for all day, not just a few hours. I was there from about 8:00 AM unitl about 3:00 PM. There are plenty of eateries for food and drink. Upstairs there are even a Starbucks, for serious caffeine, and a Panera Bread, for free Wi-Fi connectivity. I will be there for the three Saturdays and on Columbus Day, as well. Just a suggestion.

Are you guys going to Murky on Saturday or only to the mall? If you go to Murky, what time would you be there?

I'll be at Balston this weekend unless my best friend ends up coming down for the weekend. I'd love to meet you guys at Murky Coffee, too... but I don't know how to drive to Clarendon and I take the METRO every day, so I hate using it on weekends. Maybe next weekend, though!

----------OK, Thanksgiving killed me. I didn't write at all. I won't win NaNoWriMo, but I'm still going to finish this book!

Hi there,
I'm also in Arlington and am writing furiously and having the best time. I've already written a novel, that because there was no need to, I didn't finish for 3 years. It's not published yet. I love this process. I'm also a member of the Arlington Meetup writers group and this coming Wednesday we are dedicating our meeting to nanowrimo. We meet at the Barnes and Noble in Clarendon at 7pm. It's a fun, active and eclectic group of writers. Feel free to join us but do sign up on the meetup website so we can have enough tables and chairs.
I have another suggestion in addition to Murkeys and Ballston. Have any of you been to Busboys and Poets in Shirlington. It is such a cool place. It's a bookstore, restaurant, bar and coffeehouse. They have these large long tables with stools where you can work on your laptop with free wi-fi. The coffee's awesome--organic, free-trade and shade grown. The food is amazing. So that's where I plan to be from 10-2 on Saturday.
Feel free to check out the excerpt from my novel, Mombasa Woman. You can find me in Northern Virginia as gaylefleming

To All Y'all,
The last of the Saturdays at Ballston Commons Mall - Food Court is tomorrow. I plan to be there from about 8:00 AM until about 3:00 PM. I take up a position next to the Down Escalator straight across from Bloom's Grille. I will have a power strip with me that allows about six plug ins. You will be able to recognize me bacause I will be sitting at a table with a black view binder on end showing off the two NaNoWriMo flyers. Please, come by and say "Hi!". I would greatly appreciate it.
