Hey all,
just to let you know about the Events page on here. When you click on your beloved region of Darlington, there are three tabs at the top. One leads to these forums, and another leads to the Events section. I've just posted a Write-In Event this weekend, but if anyone fancies organising their own events, local write ins for instance, and you want them posted on the Events page, then just let me know.
For now though, in case it doesn't work(!) There is a Write-In, 12pm this Saturday (10th) at Caffe Nero in Darlington. Come along, bring novelling equipment and meet fellow Nano-ers.
good luck, all
Bel

Hrm. Could be a problem, but not in getting there. The fact that I don't have a laptop to write from wouldn't help me much...

actually, the one annoying thing about Nero is the fact that there are no plug sockets anywhere to plug laptops in, anyway!
I usually take a notebook with me when I'm at work, scribble things down in my lunch break, then type it up when I get home. If you are a quick typist then it doesn't take too long, Its the creative bit thats time consuming!

I'll try and be there. Whereabouts in Neros will you be lurking, and who should I be looking for? I guess you will all be relatively conspicuous by the laptop/notepad abundance.
I'm the very tall blond, usually wearing a knitted hat! :) Well, it is cold!

Wooley hats are always good, everyone needs a Novelling Hat, keeps the brain warm after all!
----------ok, well Nero isn't actually very big so I don't think you'll lose us! I am tall ish, a bit gothy, reddy-purple hair and this year's novelling hat is a little black beret. Failing that, I'll probs be wearing the official Nanowrimo t-shirt!
If last year's crowd are anything to go by, then we're sure to stand out!!

I had to stop wearing my novelling hat. My brain overheated and shutdown. It nearly turned into a Mills and Boon with werewolves. Is it okay if I wear my novelling facial expression?

Mills and Boon with werewolves could be interesting. At least it hasn't been done before. :)

Bel will know what I mean when I say 'Pills on Spoon'!
Aww, sounds really good, to meet up and have a write in. But the fact I'm like 300 miles away and have no laptop is a bit of a sticking issue. :-(
I shall hopefully be doing some novelling on Sat anyway - be there in spirit even if not in person!

afraid it has. Try mary janice davidson or charlaine harris. My other half was most put out to find out that the 'fantasy' series he liked so much is kepy under 'romance' in waterstones.
On the plus side it does sell well.

Now, if I can get the coding right, we should have PICTURES...
ok, pics are huge - scroll sideways for a better view!
Rumbabaaa, modelling an extreme example of Novelling Hat.
Suedo, who still achieved an impressive 500 words in 15 mins, even handwriting...
Bea, in a slightly less OTT novelling hat
Hysterisiscure posing with Spawn of Rumbabaaa
And finally, yours truly. That expression is "grim determination", with additional promotional material subtly added into the shot...
Cheers to everyone who came along, good to meet you all!
----------Will keep you posted on the next one!

Anyway, that is pretty rich coming from someone who hasn't managed to show up to anything yet! :-) and what happened to the one you were supposed to be organising?? :-P
Anyhoo, watch this space and your emails for the latest news. I think everyone needs some major WRITING TIME in the last week or so!

Er, I never said I WAS organising one. There's been two: One when I was in school, the other while I was playing for a band. I can't be in two places at once.
----------And I happened to get roped into another band rehearsal.
