This is my first year in Nanowrimo, joining from Huntsville.

I'm kinda working under a couple different difficulties for a first try at this - I'm starting four days late, and I'll be spending most of the Thanksgiving part of the month in San Diego, probably with no computer access. Guess that means a lot of coffee and longhand.

I'm not writing a novel from scratch, though. I already have about 50,000 words on the novel I'm working on, one I began writing in high-school and laid aside due to a very busy period in my life. But I want to see if with the help of the Nano community spirit and a firm deadline, I can add another 50,000 more words to it and hopefully wrap it up.

It would be nice to get done with this story which has been haunting me for about seven years. I've been putting off finishing it forever and it's time to kick it up a notch and get it on the page before it passes out of my memory.

So, with that being said...what's up, talespinners? :)

I joined on November 4, too, and this is my first time as well. Your predicament sounds so much like mine! I've had a story that I've been working on for several years, but for some reason, I've never really had the drive to do it. And I hope that this deadline really does give me the swift kick in the pants that I need.

I've got the same thing going. I got this idea thirteen years ago, but my writing skills have just now gotten to the halfway decent mark. I'm starting with the fourth chapter, having written the first three and then getting stuck several months back. I'm hoping to at least reach the climax of the story. I think I could finish up the last couple of chapters in December. Then it'll be editing in January.

I joined on November 4, too. Back in 2005. :o) Nanowrimo is addictive!

There were a couple of days that I didn't have much to show last week, but I've caught up since. Yay! That deadline, plus how many people know I'm doing this, plus my lovely (Nov. 4) b'day gift of this year's Nano shirt are kicking my butt into writing mode. And I need it. :o)

Keep typing. Do it whenever you can, and you'll be surprised how the words can add up. Go for it!
