For those out there who feel like procrastinating with me, who's your inspiration?

My novel this year is inspired by the artwork of Dave McKean, the imagery of Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, as well as Tim Burton, and the childrens books (particularly Coraline) of Neil Gaiman.

My book is kind of Steam/Clockpunk, but fantasy. Oh, and young adult.

How bout everyone else?

For this project I'm conjuring up the spirits of Tristan Tzara, Alfred Jarry, and John Berryman.

Right now, nobody. For a while, I thought I might write a story within the story like Oracle Night, but it just didn't happen. So I have no model, no mentor to look to, I am truly alone. Boo hoo for me.

Characters named: 3
killed: 0
chais: 0
mind changes: 2 biggies so far, many squabbles that were resolved by just pushing on...

this is the first words that came out of my head and really this should be these are...

At the moment: William S. Borroughs, Kurt Vonnegut, William T. Vollman, Mark E. Smith's lyrics, and various and sundry proliferators of anecdotes and speculation of paranormal occurrences.

I suppose I should say Final Fantasy something, since I know the characters were originally side-characters in that series. But I never played anything of FF, so don't ask me which one. At the request of a friend, though, I tried to join a FF RP, and she gave me these three to work out. Unfortunately, I got most of the things that were already decided wrong and I couldn't really change it in my mind anymore. So I just made them for another story, one I invented myself. The one I'm writing now. Still, if it hadn't been for FF (and the RP, especially the RP), I wouldn't have them.

Right now I'm going at about a book a day from The Sandman series by Neil Gaiman, and I'm definitely taking a lot of inspiration from that. I'm also inspired a bit by the last three episodes of the third season of Doctor Who (but I won't spoil it for any poor soul who doesn't already know)... I also have been listening to the 8Gbs of music I have on my computer and sort of stop thinking to think, I know that sounds weird but it's how I work and it's gotten me as far as I am since I started.
My book is well... It's sort of a tragedy/horror/romance/fantasy/theological disaster-waiting-to-happen/maybe some erotica if my main character ever gets there. Ah, I've never been good with placing things into a genre, you know?

Characters named: 14
Characters killed: 9 (including the main character, it's complicated)
Mind Changes: Not to terribly many, maybe three.

*blushes* for this year (my first year), Illusion's Artificial Girl 3. It's utter lack of a story, and 'create your own adventure' *snicker* gameplay captivated my imagination, and brought up a title suggested by a friend.

Side Note:
The plot of the novel (in theory) strays vastly from the core gameplay.
