Back by popular demand I bring you...
The Second Write-In.
By now we should all be at a point where are characters have introduced themselves to us and proceeded to kick us in the shins and dictate their stories. Mine have. Mine have also hijacked the genre which, is best not discussed.
Last Saturday had such a great turn out that we had to relocate to a bigger room. I've booked the bigger room straight away this time around.
Date: Saturday, 10th November
Time:1pm till 5pm
Place: Room 5-15, City West UniSA Library.
The pageant will be on, but hopefully being at the other end of the city will save us from the chaos (except on public transport), so try to remember that if you are planning on driving in!
We are allowed to bring munchies into the room. Pretty much anything but hot food so feel free to bring along drinks and lollies and other writer-must-have-edibles. Just remember there will be laptops and powerboards around.
1 thing I feel I need to mention:
If catching public transport especially stuff that involves walking from King William or the Train Station there are trams running every 15 minutes or less, so if you don't feel like hauling a laptop around the city take the tram. I will be this week!
Map:

Directions:
As you can see from the picture we'll be in the library. If you think you'll have trouble finding it and want to go, PM me and I'll give you my mobile number incase you get lost or want directions.
If you are going to be late here is directions to where we will be:
Inside the library you can walk to the elevators (you can see them from the doors) take it to the 5th floor. Once on the 5th floor walk through the aisle of shelves ahead till you run out of books and there will be rooms on this wall. We will be in room 15. I will probably be one with a sign. I will print a sign for the door.
If you require a laptop I can borrow one (only one, sorry guys) from the library. Last week the laptops Cate and I borrowed went unused so if you want to come but don't have one ask and see if someone hasn't already put their hand up, and if they have we'll see what we can do with some other Wrimos and library cards.
Also, at this point in time I may need to leave around 4pm so if someone else could bring a powerboard or two? That would be awesome.
Remember we're going to make our wordcounts grow and have fun!
Sunday Write-in
I'll also mention that if you're not interested in dancing with the pageant traffic that there will be another write-in this weekend at the State Library on North Terrace. This will be on the Sunday and held in the Cafe from 11 onwards.
There is more about it in this thread:

I remember you saying something about the pageant. It's alright. If we see you, we see you, if not, enjoy the day. :-)

Agreed. I had a great time as always, got about 1000 done (meh) - but not bad considering Rose taught me a whole new form of procrastination (Freecell) hahaha :)
Don't know when it's gonna be but I can't wait for the next one. I probably won't be able to make the weekend in two weeks time though (24/25) because I'm going to schoolies as a toolie with my yr12 friends... Oh, I didn't have any problems with the Pageant/Feast surprisingly, maybe I slept through all of that..?

P.S. Didn't get a parking ticket XD

I completely bummed out yesterday. I didn't help that I found the seats uncomfortable and my feet didn't touch the ground in the chairs (yeah, I know, I'm short).
I barely wrote 500 words, but when I got home I got out my pen and paper and it all just flowed. I'm beginning to find that this book flows better on paper and then I type it up. True it takes more time, but I think the output is greater this way.
If anyone wants another form of procrastination, a friend sent my this great game you play through MS Excel called Bubbles. Its probably best described as a cross between pong and tetris, and its highly addictive. PM me your email address, and I can send on the procrastination. Hehe

I had fun too. I ended up with about an extra thousand words although I doubt you will believe me. Oh, the sticker marks, gone in no time!
When I finally walked in the door at home I found out I could have stayed till 5. Grrr!

It was fun. I was pretty burned out that day for some reason though. Must have been having to sit in a food court for an hour at lunch time surrounded by a million billion screaming children. I might be exaggerating a little. Though probably not.

Yay for write-ins! Something very productive about writing in a group.
I got 1987 words done in the two hours we were at the Saturday write-in, and that doesn't include the 1000-odd I wrote while we were waiting for everyone else to turn up (yes, we were the idiots that misread the starting time...)
I also got a grand total of 4056 done on the Sunday write-in.
My word count is looking goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood...
Nice to meet you all as well.
When's the next one? Howsabout a weeknight?
