We're working on getting the last few bugs out of the program so that we can get updated daily. I will post them here as I find them out.
One caveat (at the moment, anyway) is that we're not really sure how many people who are affiliated with our region are people from last year, who didn't sign up this year.
The discrepancy between the number of affiliated people and the number of Raleigh-Durham folks is due to people in other parts of the word marking this region as one they want to watch. Only the folks who have Raleigh-Durham as their Home region are part of the 351 people.
Still pretty interesting to ponder.

Paperclip, in case you didn't already know, any kid who isn't home-schooled in bubble-wrap already knows all the swear words you know by the fifth grade. Since the forums ARE for "everyone," how about not talking to "everyone" as though we were a gang of teenaged hoodlums out to steal your toddler's sucker.
The majority here are literate adults who command a vocabulary of terms far more expressive than six or eight jaded swear-words, and find the school-marmish condescension insulting to their intelligence. Don't try to boss adults around, and don't expect adults to pretend they were in a kindergarten for the benefit of a hypothetical couple of precocious, bubble-wrapped home-schoolies who MIGHT read some truth that their hyper-control-freak parent didn't want them to find out about the real world where "everyone" (else) happens to live.

The Regional Forums are deemed All Ages and should not contain posts with profanity.
Municipal Liaisons act as moderators for the regional forums.
Whether people are already familiar with the vocabulary or not is irrelevant. They are the rules you agreed to when you signed up for this site in the Terms and Conditions. (For the most part the rules are there because many of our participants access the site via library and school computers which often employ filtering software. When profanity occurs the whole page is inaccessible. While that's fine for many of our forums, we consider the regional forums essential and therefore should be kept free of profanity so that everyone can view them.)

Last I checked, the fact that you might have to get out a dictionary to discern the meaning of a word does not necessarily make that word profanity.
There was no profanity in this post, nor in any other post I have created in our regional thread. It is unnecessary for you or your friend, paperclip, to assume that every post that either disagrees with your opinions or uses SAT words is inappropriate, and I resent being spoken to in a tone that implies I may have used language beneath my level of education and up-bringing, when that is contrary to fact.

Bibi - the post I commented on about profanity did have a word in it, that the Nano Staff removed after it was flagged.
I happened to read the person's post shortly after she sent it, and I was hoping to catch her within the hour she had to edit it.

I did not alter the post because I disagreed with it, I took out a swear word so that someone at a pubic library would be able to see the stats.
