Hi trafuse and others,
Are there any plans for another weekend writing session yet? I'm excited for weekend writing/hanging out and hoping for news!

Also, I didn't want to spam the forums with a completely random thread but I just had to say...I find the snow so very inspirational for Nano. Reason, I have no idea. But I like looking out the window at the fluffy whiteness. It makes me think of Lord of the Rings (which were released in the winter) and Christmas and Narnia, and makes me wish I was writing high fantasy. Even though I don't particularly like high fantasy.
XD
[/crazy random posting]
ETA: I guess that is a reason. It's just a dorky reason.

Snow = meeting people for hot coffee/chocolate.
----------Maybe we could schedule something on Saturday/Sunday?
The Golden Griddle was spacious, open, and i'm sure we don't have to meet there only for Pancakes, right?
Maybe that could be our 'Nano Haunt'

I'm free to meet up this weekend. Preferably in the morning and not the afternoon, but the afternoon would work too, I s'pose.

Hey merpy, I'm glad you've put this thread up. Work has been kicking my ass lately (sorry for all those with sensitive ears out there). I won't be around much this weekend, so wherever and whenever you all can get together, I'll be there in spirit.
I'll second the idea of hot chocolate, and toss out the suggestion of William's Coffee Pub on King in Kitchener. We've been there before and it's a reasonable place.
Toss a few words around for me!

Tim, I believe you mentioned that you'd only be available if it was like after 1800-ish on Sunday, yes? Or have I been mistaken?

I could probably make it to something on Sunday, but only after 11am. Saturday is sketchy, though I might be able to drop by for a quick coffee or tea if people are congregated somewhere. :)

The only thing I would say isn't great about the griddle on the weekend is the student traffic. If I've got my college-kid towns right, it will probably be over-run until at least 2 pm, right? Never went to school in the K-Dub but memories of visiting friends include scavenging for a brekkie joint with no line up at noon.
My choice is Sunday afternoon. Give me a holler where. I like places that serve beer and coffee.
Rock the word count, team!

So if im thinking right,
Where: Williams on King st.
When: Sunday at 6pm?
Why: umm....coffee/hot chocolate and writing.
Does that work for everyone? Comments? Flames?
Ill hopefully have written quite a good chunk by Sunday, so my numbers don't look as abysmal. Just needed to get some essays out of the way first...

Hmm... the location sounds good, though I'd prefer something a little earlier in the afternoon. But that's just me. :)

I agree that the location is good, but I'm with dark_phoenix on the time. To me, 6 is definitely evening, not afternoon. I think Hiro probably agrees too, since he said he'd actually prefer the morning.
So, how about 1pm instead?
Tim, do we need to call ahead and reserve a table or something?

I'm not working this Saturday, so either Saturday or Sunday is fine with me, although I would prefer Sunday afternoon since there's supposed to be some housecleaning done on Saturday.

Sunday after 3 pm works best for me. We could just do a sweep of the afternoon, with people coming and going at the Williams on King as they can and need to. Though I suppose that's only really feasable if there are enough of us coming and going throughout the afternoon... But I'll show up at around 3 and write @ the Williams for a few hours. Hopefully some or much of the 1 pm shift is still around. ;-D
Hope everyone's books are going well!
Mine is starting to stall. It's that whole "sagging middle" syndrome, where now that I've got the problem/inciting incident, I've gotta figure out 1) how to complicate it enough to sustain the conflict for tens of thousands more words and then 2) how to resolve it in some kind of satisfactory way by the end.
Well, that's usually the tricky bit for me anyway, so here it goes again.... Bonne chance, all!

Well, I keep wanting to come out to a meetup but the times and dates haven't been working for me. Hope you have a good time this weekend and hopefully I'll see some of you at the next one.

Ah! Problem! Who's been to this Williams before, because I just looked up the Williams website and it says there are two of them on King St. in Kitchener! Is it 4500 King E, or 198 King W?
Help!!

OK, done panicking now. I looked in one of the old threads, and trafuse said it was next to/in the city hall building, which I looked up and it's at 200 King W, so I guess it must be the 198 King W one we're talking about.
If anyone else had no idea where this is, like me, here's the google map: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&client=opera&rls=en&hs=6AY&q=198+king+...
They're open until 6pm today. I'll be getting there around 1 and staying at least a couple of hours, I expect. Barring unforeseen plot bunnies.
