The turn out for the write ins has been so low I'm cancelling the next one (scheduled for Sunday 18th November).
If people really want a write in on Saturday 24th November, then some firm RSVPs here might persuade Anita (who has been sharing cat-herding ML duties with me) to go ahead and arrange the final write in. I'll be at the retreat that weekend, so won't be handling the final write in.

I did actually show up on Saturday, but there was no-one about that I recognised and I'd been lugging my laptop around town in the stupid, stupid heat for ages and so I decided to go home and drink very cold water for a long time.
I didn't show up the week before, due to an accidental all-night party at my house...

I've had an exam on both of the last two saturdays, so that's why I haven't been there =(. My apologies for not notifying you in advance; 'tis my first NaNo, still getting used to everything =).
I would be free and glad to attend a write-in on the 24th if other people were to go; I'm not fussed either way though.

I intended to go to all the write-ins, but family came first. Apologies.

This is the first time in three years I've asked people to RSVP for a write in, so I had no expectation of people notifying me in advance. This year is also the first time I've had other people covering the write ins for me, which has complicated things organisationally.

It's been that kind of year all round, hasn't it?

*tear* and it was in my date book and everything.
Oh well, at least we have the retreat.

Oh no, that was the only one I could make!
Oh well. Holding out all hopes for the retreat!

hi Kat,
there were two of us with our laptops at the table... how could you have missed us? I would have appreciated the company of another NaNo'er -- the second person who I was sitting at the table with was my husband who had come along simply to get out of the house which was bursting with teenage boys analysing their cricket match from that morning.

It doesn't sound like anyone is much interested in meeting for a write-in on the 24th. I'm not going to cut my weekend in Margaret River short in order to come back to Perth and sit on my lonesome again, so please rest assured, the only write-in activity the weekend of the 24th will be at the retreat.
:-)

Anita - I saw the laptops, but didn't recognise either of you (obviously, as we've never met) and I didn't know if you were write in people or if people with laptops are a normal thing in that shop, or various other possibilities that aren't realistic but that went through my head. I've not been here long enough to lose the up-tight British thing...
