I'm all about the basement of Wilson Library, and occasionally the curvy couches in the VU

Does anyone write in Fantazia? Also, does anyone go to poetry night on Monday nights?

I might go to Fantasia tomorrow. The problem is that I don't have any money now. :-(

I usually hit up the Horseshoe. It's always open, the food (and booze) is cheap and somehow the constant activity really helps me to focus. If I'm ever in need of material, all I have to do is look around me.

All right, you guys. You need to enlighten this old man:

Does this mean the Black Drop is defunct?

And what is "Fantasia."

(The Horseshoe smells.)

I don't know about it, but I don't really go to the Black Drop.

Fantasia is a coffee place on Cornwall, in between WaMu and Left Coast Designs (the weird furniture place).

The Black Drop is just closed this weekend because of Veteran's Day.

I usually stay home and write if it is not open.

I'm not very fond of Fantasia. I used to go there a little in the evenings after the 'Drop closed, but then the bands they had play in there drove me off. I haven't cared enough to go back.

Not that I've had time to be downtown at all lately. :(

Fantazia has poetry night on Monday night. I honestly haven't been there on other nights to hear any of the bands. It's walking distance from The Black Drop and the Horseshoe both (closer to the Black Drop). And, yes, the horseshoe smells...smells like meth addicts. :( :( :(

Remember - anyone in the northern side of things: we are meeting in Lynden on thursdays at the Woods on Bender St. Nice atmosphere, sofas in front of the fire..great way to get some writing done.

".... To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, ...."

It depends on the work.

I often do my best work when I'm half awake.

No Black Drop for me tonight.

I hit the big Five O, and while my novel is far from finished, I'm going to take a break.
