Come on capetonians.
I'm starting to get a bit bored of waiting around venues hoping that people arrive after they say they will, and a little embarrassed by the absolute lack of response. Joburg is beating the pants off us on attendance and we have more members?
whats going on?
So far I have had two write ins- both where two people showed up.
Not fair guys.
I'm willing to drop what I have scheduled to be able to accomoodate wrimos- thats my job. But you guys have to meet me halfway. Please let me know if you can attend or not- that way I know to reschedule, or if spending money and CO2 on travelling is worth it.
Thank you to those few who have been making an effort- its is much appreciated.
and everyone in Cape town- if you cant make it - its ok. But please let me know- its the polite thing to do. Everyone keeps shrugging and saying, "its capetown..what can you expect?" dudes, I just want a little support-
So-

Next write in:
Suggestions on where/ when / etc are welcomed. If I get no suggestions- then I will take it that nobody wants to meet. either is fine- Its your nanowrimo. I'm here if you all need me- just drop me a mail-

i am quite ok with the lodge.

if - for what it's worth - you decide to run another one on the other side of town again, [like the friday one] please cheerfully assume that i won't show up. heh. however, in that event, i'll tell you, anyhow.

the only thing that worries me a lot about the lodge is the food. they seem to be reluctant to cook. ;) ah well. i did, eventually, have a decent wrap. [i finished it off. was quite good.]

thanks, again, for showing up. i enjoyed it, for what it was worth.

yeah- the catering is a bit suspect! I'm probably going to put writeins on hold for a week and see if I can get to arranging the TGIO . I'm going to try and push my own wordcount abit this week as well- just so I dont miss finishing like last year. but will keep you posted. Thank you for attending, it does count.

sorry I missed the write ins. I meant to come on Sunday but had major car trouble and was stuck! I have major times issues for the next few weeks, as I work about three nights a week, so try and keep the others vacant. Mornings are fantastic for me, but I am assuming most people have 9-5 jobs and aren't freelance. Unfortunately the kids make it a bit difficult for me also, as previously mentioned. An excellent solution is Deer Park Cafe WAY up at the top of buitenkant st, it has EXCELLENT food, and the kids can play over yonder in the far distance...

But I can't expect everyone to just accomodate me!

Sorry we're being bad sheep...

sheep? no not sheep- writers are more like cats. Infinitely lovable, very independant, intelligent, mysterious, good looking....
:) but not inclined to gathering in groups....

Its really ok, we cant expect everyone to make it to all the meets, and the last thing I want is for you to beat yourself up about it. This deer park cafe sounds like a plan. I'm just going to let it lie for a bit, so that we can all concentrate on getting our wordcounts up and then see- we still have two weeks left, and if anyone does want to do a meet- we can always arrange one.

also if there are other writers who can do mornings, nothing stops you from having a mini meet- I'm encouraging those since transport can often be a problem for a lot of people- I was carless last year, and it was hard to have meets in far out spots.

Lets play it by ear and see what our groups needs are. I'm willing to pitch up for meets as long as I have definate rsvps, and am open to suggestions on convenient times and places.
