So... how's everyone doing?

My story started to actually find a bit of flow today (don't let that word count fool you). It's so nice to write with an actual idea!

How are y'all coming along?

I'm okay, I suppose. My MC has found and discarded one suspect and has questioned another one. He is about to go check out her alibi and see what's what. (Hint-- he's got at least one more suspect at large...) I 'have' to watch a show in about five minutes, but I promise I'm staying up late to write tonight. I'm also using my Saturday to type my little fingers off. There's no family disaster roaring at me this weekend. (thank you God!)

I'm kind of worried about the pacing. I so don't want to run out of story 5K short. Uugghh. The stress! Why do I do this to myself???

I was a bad girl tonight - two episodes of Psych instead of 1600 words. >.<

But hey, weekend, right?

I will probably be too tired tonight to get anything done on Nano after I put in some time on my paying novel that I've worked on for the last year and a half. I'm revising it now while the guy who's idea it is sends the first few chapters to entice publishers. That's one challenge this year. I've got to put in 8 hours per week (the number of hours he's budgeted to pay me), then put time in on the Nanonovel. I was caught up yesterday i.e. at the average work count for the 15th of the month. I'm already a day behind now though so I'll have to catch up tomorrow (and still put in time on the other book).

However, I don't go to work this next week so there's no excuse for me not to spend time getting to 50,000, which I'd like to do by Thanksgiving.

I don't have any warm, fuzzy feelings about this one but it does have its moments. Still, got to keep churning out those words.

I have to second that. My grown son came to visit - he spent a week with me during which time I wrote maybe 500 words and lost touch with where my story lines were. I've gotten back in the swing this morning with a marathon session at Atlanta Bread Company in which I've so far written over 5000 words.

Don't worry, I'll keep on keeping on.

Lysle is back in the game! (My husband, who wrote last year but partway in this year decided not to.)

Plus my writing buddy in Canada popped back in on the 16th to sign in for the year.. Yay!

Buddies are good. :)
