Everyone up for the usual Wednesday (19:00) and Sunday (14:00) write-ins this week? I expect I'll be able to make both.

I can't make Wednesday, because I'm getting a free meal. Er, I mean, my uncle's coming to visit.

I can probably make both this week, unexpected deadlines allowing. Sorry about last week. Work went mental for a few days and that had a knock on effect for the rest of the week.

Still, I spent most of the weekend writing when I wasn't asleep - and my main character Colin has finally met the space pirates :-)

I was going to be there on Sunday (with the Aardvark), but this real life stuff keeps on getting in the way!
Still the word count isn't going to badly, I'm just over a day ahead (way to Tiylaya 42,000 words! I reckon you could be the first in the region to pass 50k!). This Wednesday, will be a close call I think, I'm planing on being there, but...well we'll see.
Next Sunday, is carved in stone! I'll be there, the Wednesday after that too, it's the first day of my holiday! I've taken the last 3 days of the month off, so I can put those final words in.

I really am hoping to make Sunday, Wednesdays are never good for me. I'd like to put some faces to names!
Where would it be, the Watershed?

I'm sorry to have been missing the last few days but I had a bit of a mishap with a cat which resulted in several bites which left me somewhat helpless as both hands swelled up and I was unable to do anything :o(

The swelling is down a lot now and starting to recover some movement.

I hope to at the watershed wednesday and sunday as well ... but less sure of that date due to work committments.

Georgina

I'm going to try and make it this Wednesday. Illness and galavanting around the country has prevented me from coming to the last few so I really hope to make it this week.

I might even be there on Wednesday too! but maybe I'll be lazy and try to write at home (the half hour bus ride gets in the way of writng as much!)
but I'll try because I'm away this weekend So I'll probably miss all the rest.

I've been neglecting my homegroup hideously so far this month so as much as I'd love to come on Wednesday I think I should go and see them instead. I may yet end up there anyway, it depends how badly I feel the compulsion to write... I shall be there on Sunday, by which point I hope to have hit 50k, and if I haven't then I shall achieve it at the write-in - I'm determined now!!

can't come tonight after all - am poorly sick and I think staying at home and early bed is better for me than getting on buses etc.
I can always write at home!
waves hello to everyone though!

Well I'm here, sitting alone with my pint.. Not sure where everybody else is, but there's some kind of film festival on here, so it's quite busy..

Oops, I meant to come but the words were flowing as I sat in front of my computer, and the thought of trekking to the watershed and writing longhand wasn't appealing at all...

But hang on, wait a minute. 292,000 words? What the HELL?? I'm sure you were on about 2,000 the last time I saw you at the write in?!

292,200 is an error, caused by me using mobile phone-based browser to update my profile while I was sitting wondering who else was coming tonight. It's only 29,200.

It was lucky that there was only a few of us tonight - The Watershed's "Short Film Festival" (still haven't worked out whether that's a short festival of film, or a festival of short film - I wish these people would be less ambiguous) meant that space was somewhat limited.

Here's something that someone sent me - I know the cakes are called Nanaimo Bars, but it's not much of a stretch from Nanaimo to Nanowrimo. I made some at the weekend, and they're absolutely gorgeous;

Now, someone had better give me the recipe for making my own custard cream biscuits.. ;-)

Oops, sorry Russ! It was nice to see my homegroup, they are amused I am still continuing with this daft challenge.

I will be there on Sunday and I will have finished 50k by then, I am determined!! :p

I'll be there Sunday. If anyone can't find us just think about Nanowrimo and I'll track you down with my magical nanowrimo psychic powers.

Hopefully there be more than three of us there this time!

Oh bums I can't come on Sunday either. This is getting silly. I'll have to make a concerted effort for next Wednesday.

A thought struck me - are we all going to keep in contact once the Month of Doom is over?

I'd like to stay in touch, you've all been very nice. :) Also, I would appreciate the kick to actually *finish* the novel now that I've managed the wordcount.

I was thinking just the same thing on the way back from the write-in yesterday. I'd definitely like to keep in touch.

Me too. I was wondering if anyone fancied starting a writing group in Bristol. There seems to be a distinct lack of an INFORMAL one in this city, but the one I went to in Leeds was brilliant. Is anyone interested? We could meet once a week or fortnight. See how those 'novels' are going. Anyone who's interested NaNo mail me or we can just discuss it at the TGIAO party.

Sounds good to me. It would be nice to keep in touch and keep up the motivation for writing as well as just getting to know one another a little better.

Fabulous idea Josie! I'd definitely be able to make a fortnightly visit, as I work a late shift every other week which finishes at 8pm.

The Watershed seems to have served us quite well so far - is that still a good venue?

I have a Watershed food recommendation too - the potato wedges with sour cream and salsa, plus bacon, cheese and jalapenos are an absolute delight. And they don't take any prisoners with the jalapenos either. ;-)
