Gah! Just a few more days! Isn't it bizzarre how much NaNoWriMo has affected your life in this past month?
How are you coming along? Are you right where you need to be? Ahead? Hopelessly behind and in need to multiple espresso shots?
Anyone ready for next year already?
do you recon you'll get around to editing this novel, or will it languish on your hard drive?

It is beyond hope, but I have begun to get a handle on the story. There is something there at last that might have turned into something. I'll write a bit more, see if something else turns up, but if I hit 30K it will be luck, not pluck.

I didn't do any writing over the Thanksgiving break. At my job, I spend every day, all day at a computer, and I couldn't bring myself to turn it on.
I think if I get to 35,000 words, I'll be proud of myself. This is my first nano, as well as my first novel writing experience ever, so I've already exceeded my expectations. I just hope I can keep my motivation up post November to finnish it.

I was ahead before turkey day. I'm behind now, but am catching up (over 2000 words already today and plan to top 40,000 in the next hour or so ...I type a line or two when I need to think at work LOL bad me).
I am likely to finish even if I spend Friday night in front of a screen frantically writing 6-7000 words LOL. I really want to get to "the end" but that I think will be more around 60-65000 words or so and I'm not sure if I can write that much this week. Who knows, I can get 2000 words in most lunch hours and if I get 1 hour computer time at night too... my hubby has been hogging the computer doing "senior design projects" and other such meaningless homework, I mean really I have a novel to write! hee ;)

I had planned on going to B&N but I worked late so I'm home eating and then I need to run to walgreens and I just have other stuff that needs to take priority :(

shame on me.. i have about 10k more not typed.. i don't know what's worse.. having the words or not having them typed and realllllllllllllly not wanting to

I feel the same way as pookaprincess--- I've only got just over 5,000 words to go, but my story needs more than 5,000 words to properly. Of course, the goal was 50,000, but I'm going to try to push past that and have my goal be an ending.
Last year, I won, but the story didn't finish, and it's still languishing on my hardrive, far too complex for me to dare going back in and saving it.
fingers crossed!
Congratulations to everyone else, it seems to be going well!

Finished , but continuing work on a few more scenes in the middle of the book. Will start full re-write This weekend, Nano convinced me this is a lot harder than I thought it was, but that it IS do-able. Of course NaNoPubMo might tbe a whole lot harder !!
During a couple of brain cramp episodes, I decided where the next book will go, as well as some more ideas. I plan to eventually try to get the thing published, so I will be writing ever day, editing this one and plotting the next book. I want to produce 1000 words a day on draft 2 until it's done. And I already have enough ideas that did not make it into this book to write another someday (although no need to get too far ahead since this one might really suck ;-) even when it is done and I'll have to sell it with free soup at family reunions or something.
I have a plot for next years NaNo - to be set in the 12th century Middle East. It needs some research, although I have studied the area and times a lot ever since it was my area of interest in the military, so I should be ready by next November. .
