Just finished a little over 5,000 words. A little over 4,000 yesterday. I don't know if I can keep this up. A bit less than 15,000 to go. 3 days left. That's 5,000 a day. Whew. That's a lot. I can tell you one thing. I'm getting pretty dang good at stretching things out, prolonging resolution, squeezing in really long appositives, and taking long, loosely connected digressions.:)

Yes we can! I only wish my characters would be more helpful. They could care less whether or not I finish there story. I guess I'll just have to show them.

Whew, glad I am not the only one buring the midnight and pre dawn oil to finish this story. Heck, I didn't even know the ending until around noon today! & boy, was I ever excited to know where I was finally headed because more than anything I did not want the dreaded predictable ending.
I managed to buffer my word count with some nifty run on sentences - thankfully, I have some long winded characters and when they start talking, well, I can't shush them. Not to mention the dragons... who am I to tell anything that can breath fire that they need to be quiet?
I have faith - you can do it - everyone of youse guys can reach the end of this month as winners.

My problem wasn't knowing the ending...I already knew the ending before I started. The problem was being able to get there. And even when I get to 50K I won't have the insides completely fleshed out, so I still have some work to do after the Blitzschreib. Yack. My problem is that my characters aren't long winded enough...lol.

I'm at 4100 right now. It's exactly 12 a.m. 900 more to go for the day. Almost there.
I have two main narrators. One is a fourteen year old girl and she narrates from her diary. She's been my savior today. When she gets something in her head that's real important to her she can really flow. I just finished a chapter where she speaks. My other narrator is older, and she's speaking from a time years after the event, so she's much more reflective and cautious. Her sentences are more elaborate and she chooses her words more carefully. So, she takes much longer to write. My next chapter is hers, so I'll be up for awhile longer.
Keep chugging, everyone!

Heading for the final push. I have a lot of areas where the story could be expanded, so as much as I hate to say this in the hearing (er, reading) of those who have a lot further to go than I, my biggest problem right now is deciding which of my scenes that need work to work on to get my just under 3000 needed to win. :-) It's been a blast, and here we go back at it...
Keep writing gang! You'll make it!
