Inspired by today's Q&A I'm ***tentatively*** thinking about putting together some sort of Maryland writers' retreat next year. If I did such a thing, would anyone be interested in attending?

This year I spent the first weekend of November at a condo in Ocean City with a group of friends. They weren't writing and there were lots of distracting activities going on (among others, we invented a new blender drink consisting mostly of mint chocolate chip ice cream and Godiva chocolate liqueur - mmmmmmm. . .) but I got a fair bit of noveling done anyway. I can only imagine how much more productive the time away from family and local obligations would have been if everyone else had settled down with their laptops for a few hours each day instead of continually dragging me into board games, beach walks, hangover-reducing sauna sessions, wine and cheese tasting parties and human pyramid contests. This is not to say such activities wouldn't be eminently suitable for a writers' retreat; it's just that the novel-to-play balance would need to be tweaked a bit for optimal results. ;-)
Gosh, I'm in wordy-word hyperbabble mode. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to express myself succinctly in writing for at least two weeks after this thing is over . . .

By the way, we split the cost of this penthouse beachfront condo seven ways and it ended up being something like $40 per night per person. Gotta love the off season! So it can be pretty reasonable, depending on how much you want to spend on ice cream and alcohol . . . .
