I don't know about you guys, but it was quite something to be from a desolate, forsaken tundric area and know that other people, all around the world and even in the same desolate, forsaken tundra area as you were doing something this great and huge. Any last thoughts about the process? I've had writer's block for almost five years. This had a lot to do with shaking those cobwebs out and get words back under my command.
See you in the winner's circle!

Good luck coming across the finish line, I managed it this morning and let me tell you it feels good.
I hadn't written this much since college.

I have 9599 words to go yet. But I'll do more than that just to nail it. Not sweating since I've been doing 6,000 or more a night the last few nights. Problem is I work too many hours to be able to finish it.

Not having a traditional goal is spurring me on to write the climax even though I have no idea what's going to happen, and no idea what happens after that.

I had a couple of sentences laid out before I began for each chapter. So it let me freely write and have an idea where it was going.

Problem is I'm finding I dont' like what I've written. Not enough conflict. Too much explanation. But then that's what this whole contest is about. To write write write.

Finally! 50,000!
Now just a spell check to take care of those nasty typos over the last 10,000 words and I'll be uploading.
But wait, I have to finish the story. I figure another 1000 or 2000 words if I decide to get wordy!
I can smell the finish line!
I'll be done by 9pm.
Now on for the last leg of the race!

Boy I really had to streamline that last chapter. There was enough in there (from a storyline perspective) that I could have written at least another 5,000 words. But I hit 49,000 and wanted to finish and get to the punch line. That done, I can say I'm done.

Like going to the bathroom after holding it through a 4 hour long mass at church.

I am *relieved*!

Way to go! Love seeing all that purple. There's always plenty of conversation in the forums the other 10 months of the year too. I'm not usually one of them but I do stroll through on occasion. See ya'll next year!
