All in the title, really: Chchchch people, where/when do you want to have your TGIO celebration?

A cafe? The dux? A picnic on the arts centre lawn? Other, please specify?

My vote is an afternoon BBQ party at a private residence on a Sunday where people can come and go, bring their own food, and cook as they arrive and just mill around and chat until a reasonable time before the sun goes down.

Does anyone else have a place like that? I'd volunteer if someone else brought a BBQ but I don't think it would be safe to have a party around here with a new cat in the house.

We have a BBQ but I'm not sure about the logistics about having a party here. Plus it's way out of the way for most people - in the south of the city in the very quiet suburbs.

Not to sure if I'd be able to go to a BBQ at someones house, but if it were somewhere in town, I'll drop by and add my lament about how study and exams killed my hope of finishing. xD

Well, if someone could think of somewhere more public but still accessible we could use a BBQ (but maybe not the Groynes since that's so far out of town)? We don't have to go with my BBQ idea at all! How about a food court instead? That might have to be a Saturday affair unless someone knows a place in town with late opening hours. Other than that, it's kind of dependent on people's personal budgets.

Anywhere that I can get to by bus, or on foot is good for me.
Anywhen apart from Sunday morning (while I'll be at church) or Sunday night (when I'll be at church for something else) is good for me. Saturday morning is now not really a good idea though, I think I may be having another 10 hour sleep when I get to bed.

Personally I vote for Sunday afternoon at the Arts Center, that way we all (or almost all) know where we are meeting up and there is a selection of food around if people want to eat.

I'd be keen to come but only if it was on a Friday or Saturday, or after 5.30 ish during the rest of the week

I think the Arts Center again would be good.

Easy enough to find, and its close to plenty of food choices.

Hi people.

Unless I see a post indicating something otherwise before I head to church in the morning I'm going to aim to be at the Arts Center at 2:30 in the afternoon.
In case other people haven't realised it yet, the Santa Parade is going to be starting at 2pm and will be finishing at about 3:15 so you may need to allow more time than normal to get through the people that will be lined up for the parade.

There's no way I want to miss out on this meeting, I had a 10,000 word day on Friday. That merits something special.

Fucking fucker santa parade. >.> Yes, I am unreasonably bitter at/about those things. I guess I'll have to try and get in before it starts then because otherwise I won't be able to get across.

There was four of us meet up this afternoon; keieeeye, Kelzninja, mattdw and myself. But we didn't really discuss our NaNo attempt as much as discuss random things from our pasts it seemed.

And again, as to when/where. At the Arts Center either of those days works for me as long as it's not Sunday morning. The Arts Center should be easier to get to this coming weekend as there won't be a santa parade on either.
Really though, Sunday morning is the only time I won't make it, and with buses going everywhere in the city, as long as I can find directions at maps.google.com or wises.co.nz I'm fine with any location.

I'm going to Dunedin on Wednesday so I won't be there.

I didn't finish. I only got to about 25k, but it was nice. I spent the 25k working up to a really cool bit, but the cool bit wasn't so cool to write. But the characters developed, I've never stuck with anything long enough before to have that happen. :D I think my exams went okay...okay meaning I passed but prob only got merit. :( I needed 13 more excellence credits to get the certificate and I don't think I got them. They can't mark down for off topic rants in the 'extra answer space' pages can they?

Well done everyone who won.

I can make it next Sunday afternoon I think, but I can't promise anything at the moment.
Arts Centre sounds all right. I'll probably just eat before I get there. =)

Either day should be fine for me. Somewhere in town is easiest for me to get to, so Arts Center is a good place (again) =P

Okies, Sunday isn't good for me as it would seem I'm busy.

So if its Saturday, see you then, if its Sunday, then I won't be seeing you. ;D
