My dear, wonderful, amazing writers!

Who else is a Purple-Bar Bandit?

For those of you that have crossed the magic finish line, or those of you that are running to get there - post ye tales of terror/glory here.

I must admit - weekends were awesome for writing for me but BRING ON NANOEDMO (National Novel Editing Month)! I think my inner-editor is going to be comatosed for a few months yet ;-)

Oh! Me! Me!

I got my purple bar last night~

Editing must be done once I finish the actual story! Then I owe some backstories that were bet in a game of poker...

Just got it! And halfway through a sentence.
Story is no where near finished, though.
Happy to be done.
Yeah, serious editing needs to be done, especially since i changed a major bit half way through, and need to write out an entire character!

Well done, guys 'n gals.

Sadly, I won't be joining you. For a while there I was going to attempt to stay awake for 36 hours straight on Red Bull and get there, but I figured my heart would probably explode... :-(

Still, 42,305 is a respectable effort, and it gives me something to work with to get the darn thing finished!

And definitely looking forward to next year. Five weekends next year! :-)

Eh, be joining you all in an hour or two, depending on when I actually start writing.

... To think that if I had kept the same pace as in the first ten days I'd have about 150000 words by now...

Desperately trying to finish. Did a marathon effort today ... just over 4000 words to go but my brain hurts, not to mention my wrists and shoulders from all this typing :-(

Gonna grab a beer and get back into it. Seriously want to beat it this year.

Only an hour twenty to go though ....

Oh my god, I did it. Never mind editing, December is for all the SLEEP I have sacrificed in the last week.

And yes, I stopped mid-scene.

I did it. The last 4000 words kind of degraded into a stream of consciousness type narrative, but I reached the magical figure.

Next year I am not leaving half the word count to the last few days. It's not worth the physical or mental pain!

Ha ha! Just read back over my last few scenes and I have managed to completely swap two of my characters. Somewhere around the 42,000 word count Dete became Dirk and vice versa. Not that big a deal, except that Dete is a powerful mage vigilante and Dirk is a vampire godfather-like fugure of the underworld.

Oh well, I guess that's what national editing month is for - fixing stuff like this ;-)

My thought process on winning:

Yay I is have more than 50k I is go bed now yay.

It was nearly midnight on the 29th, for me, but I diiiiid it, yay!

Even though my novel changed genres on me at 22,000, and by changed genres I mean from 'medieval fantasy' to 'post-apocalyptic gaslamp/steampunk'. I just put all the wrong genre stuff in bold to be fixed later and kept plugging away.

Editing this puppy's going to be interesting.

I changed to steampunk too. But that was at only about 500 words :P

Didn't make it to any of the write-ins, but I made it over the line last night with 4 hours to spare. :) Story-wise, I'm probably about half-way...or less. Blurgh.

I've been out of it the last few days, so missed this post, but I crossed the finish line somewhere in the last week. Haven't written since, LOL. Still only half way through the story though, so I've signed up for FiMo, but then, last year's NaNo is starting to make noises about being edited, so we'll see what happens.

Congratulations to everyone who made it!
