Right.
So, liek, this was my first time at NaNo. And I spent way more time drunk than writing, so yeah, didn't end up happening.
But! I think I'd be encouraged to finish next year/join AA if I were able to see some "Here's one I prepared earlier"s. That and I would love to support local, budding writers. Furthermore, some of your story ideas sound damn good!
If I'd finished mine, I'd have been cautious about whom I gave it to. Heh. But if others aren't as discerning as I, I'd love to have a gander. Link me to your Lulu.com page of previous years! Personal message me with email or other contact so that I can wrangle a copy once it's edited! When I get another job, I'll have more money than sense, so I'll have both time and cashish to read 'em. If anyone wants proof-reading or feedback, I'd be happy on that front too. But if I had written a novel and someone like me had offered to critique it, I'd be all "STFU, Rummy! Write ur own first. LOL"
Is anyone else interested in reading others' NaNo books? I'm interested to read anyone's... c'ept maybe only Ellie's during a heat wave, so that all those cold showers won't be an inconvenience.
Peace out, coral trout!

I love having people read my work, but I would rather let you read my 2005 effort. Much better than this year. I don't have a Lulu.com account. Can someone tell me about it? I would like to have more info.
I would also love to read any one's who would be willing to let it be read. I must warn you though, I am now a qualified senior school english teacher! Let me get my red pen out...

If you're serious, check out people's profile pages. There's links to blogs on most and you'll probably get at least snippets. To save you the hassle, mine is lanabrindley.blogspot.com. The ending isn't there (yet!) but the first 30,000 words or so are. Caveat: You need to let me know what you think before i give you the ending ;-)
Enjoy!

I do have an LJ. To be honest, I can't (won't?) really read books on the computer. :'( I'd either want to get them printed up like a manuscript mahself or pay people their costs + some if they were to give/lend me one of their own. I'd be getting it printed at Officeworks or something, 4-6 cents per page of black-and-white after a certain quantity, and a few bucks for binding.
I have a friend who won NaNo in '05 and spent a few months editing her book, then uploaded it to Lulu.com. Later she put up a second edition and she's working on a third. It's basically only a cheap and easy way to get your hands on a "book" book. From what I've seen, really really good books do sell quite a bit and make money - for the authors and the website. But it's more for writers like you and I to get our stories to the people we convince to buy them. ;) It is possible to get perhaps cheaper in the long run and better publishing privately, within Australia, but it'd be subject to a minimum order, like 1 000 or something. I dunno. Lulu.com is unique in that there is no minimum - they print 'em up and sell 'em as they're ordered.
I'm presuming that it'll be a few more months before any Brisbanites have an edited version that they'd be able to manuscript or Lulu. So! When ya'll do, lemme know. :D
Mine will end up on Lulu, if/when I finish it. But I'm writing under a pen-name and very few people will be told about it. Especially people I know IRL! haha. Other writers? Meh, that can be an exception.

In that case I'd love to have you read my 2005/2006 efforts! :-) (Available in PDF or HTML from the link on my user page.) This year's won't be seen by anybody till it's as polished as it can get -- and before that happens I've gotta write another 30,000+ words to finish it off...
As for Lulu: love it! I got my afore-mentioned 2005/06 novels printed through them, as standard paperback size. The print run of my second novel had a couple of flaws (one copy even had some pages out of order!) and wasn't quite as good as the first -- but even so, they do a generally good job. I'll probably have a couple of mine with me at theTGIO if you're there and interested...
Bottom line, though, it's certainly worth looking into Lulu if you want a few copies to hand out to family and friends (and co-workers, and pedestrians, and anybody else who so much as glances at me sideways. Er, never mind! :-))

You can has mine. I have it mostly posted on deviantART. http://doozerdan.deviantart.com But I will get it printed through Lulu once I goes through editing.
However, last year's novel is up http://www.lulu.com/content/614480 The story is alright, but it's so full of mistakes it's not worth the money unless you're a sucker, or my friend. Haha. But if you want to read, be my guest, I need one more sale on their before they pay me... :-/
