I figured we could all use a little back-patting among ourselves, wouldn't you say? Who do you want to thank for their support among the Edmowrimos? Did someone give you a ride somewhere? Talk to you when you didn't know anyone? Give you a challenge that helped spur you to victory? Suggest your novel idea?
Here's the spot for shout outs to fellow ninjas. Go nuts!

Without all of the challenges I ended up taking, I might not have made it so far. In fact, I might not have gotten my 10k day that brought me back into the running.
So a hearty shoutout to EgoAnt, a.k.a. Aaron for the Challenges.
Another hearty shout to Sarah, for just being an awesome ML.
And another hearty shout to Superninja, a.k.a. Laina for her awesome come-from-behind victory while under the weather.
And to everyone else, just being there.

Well, I have to thank Sarah for her encouragement lol, Karen for caring about my well-being (it's one thing to write 200K, but are you eating healthy?)...Patrick for his encouragement as well. Nicole for being my secret word updater when I was trying to give Montreal a BIG surprise.
Chibification for saying that she still loves me even if I don't get 100K...Alaria for being a good competitor and fellow wrimo. And everyone else for supporting me in my crazy venture!

I just wanted to thank everyone in the chat room, and the people I met at the midway madness party. Really, you all rock! It was really great to know that you would make a newbie feel so welcome.
Even if I sucked at Guitar Hero.
I'm definitely planning on doing this again next year, and I can't wait to see as many of you as will be at the TGIOP!

Now I just have to try to remember all the names (and I know I'm going to forget somebody even still).
H.Night (Joe) and spacetiogh (... Janet?) for talking to me at the kick off whist I was isolated in my personal bubble in the back corner of the room. As well as everyone else who introduced themselves to me (long list, so this is where either a name or an entire person will be forgotten; Laina, Alaria, animal74, Patrick, Denton, umm... and there definitely were more, but I refer you to earlier in the sentence). Denton and Chloe for encouraging me to get to 50k. Granted, it didn't happen but, as Chloe said, next year is my year. Sarah for giving me the 500 words in a fifteen minute word war challenge (I came so close, so next year for sure), as well as all the other great things she did for us this year. Not to mention the other two legs of the ML triumvirate. Patrick and Denton, for checking up on how I was feeling multiple times last night. And... umm... I'm quite sure there's more, but it's not coming to me at the moment (I think there's some sweeping orchestral music starting up, anyway).

Oh lord, there were so many fun people this year! I actually got way more involved and got to know people this year, which is funny since I’ve been doing it for 5 years (but I’m shy).
SarahJanet for twisting my rubber arm into doing NaNo, being an ML and nagging me until I completed my novel. EgoAnt, Wolfe_boy, Shaisukebe, ShirtNinja, SuperNinja, Aquadeo, Arnold, Chloe, Kibben and Plipington for inspiration (I’m sure I missed people here). Folkgirl, Dreadsci and Contrariwise and, of course, BattleJesus for the many word wars. Patrick for being the third leg so that the Tripod didn’t fall over. Aquadeo, EgoAnt, ShirtNinja, Patrick, Chloe, Sarah, Wolfe_boy and Wolfy Jeebus for making me laugh until I cried (I certainly needed it this month). ShirtNinja, for your dedication to Nano, that’s one of the things that makes MLing worthwhile. H.Night for patience and good humor. Shai for loving us. Brad for being silent (and mini-eggs). EgoAnt for getting my novel un-stuck at least three times, you are humblingly smart. Wolfe_boy for our running Hudson’s Bay Superheroes battle, for being such a good sport, and for generally being awesome this crazy month.
Thanks also to all the cool new folk I met for being fun. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better next year. (I miss NaNo already. Sniff!)

Thank you to the MLs for the NaNo Passes. I am apparently easy to motivate if you promise me punches on a card *lol*

Yeah, but after my little quote came to light at TGIO, I realized how ironic it was.... I mean, I *AM* a "real musician" and I couldn't get halfway through one of the easy songs. *hehe*

I have serious amounts of admiration for everyone who tried and/or succeeded - because it's one hell of an undertaking! :)
On a more personal level, I most certainly could not have gotten to 50K without Sarah. The nag list, the chat room encouragement (I'd log in and the first thing I'd see would be 'LEARAN - WORD COUNT?'), and every insane challenge that she put to me. It would have been absolutely impossible without that immensely entertaining support.
The pep talks from the MLs were a great help (I know you all had a hand in writing those), as well as every single person who was in the chat room. I would log into the chat room in the evenings when I knew I should have been writing (but really didn't feel like it) and end up joining in some word wars because everyone was having so much fun!
Before November, I didn't know anyone in the city and it was really starting to bother me - but thanks to everybody's warm, friendly, and equally crazy demeanors, I now feel like I've got a few local buddies. For as much as NaNo is about writing 50K in a month, for me it quickly became about spending more time headed for a common goal with this great group of people.
You all rock. :)

Thanks to the MLs for organizing everything! It made NaNoWriMo such a pleasant experience knowing that there were people going the extra mile to help us get our writing off the ground. It was nice meeting a few of you at the JP Library Write-In (silentbrad, swiffner, Patrick) and I'm sorry I didn't get out to any other events. Good job everyone!
