I don't think I've heard from anybody down south except for JDB in Hobbs. So how did everybody in Las Cruces do? Sybbis?

There was somebody in Gallup and Farmington, if I remember right. How about it guys?

Everybody else?

As fas as I am aware, I'm one of jsut a few in Socorro.
A few days ago, I thought I was going to lose, but then I remembered how much I liked the idea for my novel, and I(why do we even capitalize "I"?) wrote about 16 or 17k in four days.

I keep thinking that I'm going to head back down that way for a visit to my tech friends, and then I get busy again, lol.

Gee, I should have waved hi when passing through Socorro this morning ... I'll remember to wave on the way back to ABQ tomorrow as I stop at Socorro Springs to refill my growler.

I collapsed of exhaustion last night well short of where I wanted to be, but doing better than I'd thought given everything that happened this month. If I can write through a new job, family stuff and illness all in the same month, I can write through anything! :)

Gee, maybe next year we should plan write-ins in Socorro, for people to converge on from elsewhere. This could be especially interesting if the offspring, who is interested in majoring in engineering, ends up attending Tech next year.

I'm sorry to hear that, Sybbis, but hopefully things are going better with your family, you're feeling better and you are still writing - that's the important part. Maybe hop on over to nanofimo for support if you want to keep writing.

Glad to hear from you.

hey, I'd be up for it. It's centrally located, and we could hopefully get some interesting turn out. But I think that one would probably be enough. I doubt it could be a weekly thing.

what kind of engineering? I graduated chemE from there.

Hi from Las Cruces. I actually passed the finish line on Wednesday, but the story's not done yet and it won't leave me alone until I do get it finished. However, today I'm cooking for our probably *very small* TGIO party. Then I have to get back to some of my "real" work, and fit the writing in around the edges.

One gathering in Soccorro (sp?) would be fun. Anybody there carry Carizozo cider? I think we found it in Magdalena ....

Well ... I'm actually in Socorro as I type this ...

Yeah, probably just a one-off meeting would be all people could manage, but it probably could be fun.

The offspring is interested in architectural engineering, but he also did a mini-course this past summer on mining engineering, and that was -- literally! -- a blast. He likes the idea of going someplace where people blow things up all the time.

BTW, I heard Warner Brothers is looking at doing a live-action version of the Coyote and Road Runner, and using Tech for resources.

lol, well things blow up in socorro all the time. but the car bombs are the biggest booms

live coyote and RR, jeez. that would be odd. but at least tech has the ability to make big booms!
