An unfamiliar genre for me? Why yes, yes it is. But I wasn't daunted when I started writing a romance story, as much of my fiction has romance, and is heavy on the character interaction, what draws people together and away, and so forth.

However, this story I'm writing feels like it's a bunch of sex scenes strung together and shoved into a plot. Which would be fine, except I would prefer it to be a little more romantic. I want the characters to have feelings for each other besides competitiveness and sexuality. So. I'll figure it out myself, but I also wanted to ask the experts!

She's the alpha female of her werewolf pack. He's the younger male wishing to challenge her. Both fall in lust. Any advice on how I can convey them falling in love?

maybe she wounds him, but not too bad. so he bows to her position of authority. but he's so darn cute, she licks his wounds and one thing leads to another. the next morning, he goes out hunting and brings back breakfast. and he lays it before her, to signify her lead. then they eat together. instead of fighting each other, he embraces his submission to her as a leader. she accepts her handle of leadership but she loves him enough to accept his submission to her. and tells him so. somehow it just works for them
