Hiya,

If, like me, you've made some new friends this past five weeks or so and would like to keep in touch with one another, this post will interest you. :-)

We're going to have a couple of meets a month between now and next November, so we can generally keep in touch, and hopefully keep encouraging one another to keep writing even in the 'off-season' as t'were.

There will be a lunch time meet on the 1st Saturday of every month from 11am-2pm in CB2 Bistro, on Norfolk Street, Cambridge. These meets will be more writing orientated, kind of a more informal version of the Write-Ins that we had during Nano. The dates of these are:

5th Jan 08
2nd Feb 08
1st Mar 08
5th Apr 08
3rd May 08
7th Jun 08
5th Jul 08
2nd Aug 08
6th Sep 08
4th Oct 08

And here's a map to the venue if you haven't been there before:

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=546106&y=258406&z=0&sv=CB1+2LD&s...

Then, on the third Wednesday of every month, there will be a pub meet in The Cambridge Blue, Gwydir Street, Cambridge; starting at 7pm and going on until at least 9pm. These are basically a chance to get together and natter about anything and everything - there won't be any writing involved, although there will no doubt be lots of talking about it. :-)

The dates for these will be:

19th Dec 07
16th Jan 08
20th Feb 08
19th Mar 08
16th Apr 08
21st May 08
18th Jun 08
16th Jul 08
20th Aug 08
17th Sep 08
15th Oct 08

And the map for The Blue is here:

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=546267&y=258239&z=0&sv=CB1+2LG&s...

We have a table booked; to find it, go in the front door and turn left, walk past the bar on your right and into the conservatory at the back. Turn right immediately, we'll be at that table just outside the kitchen door. If you still can't find it, ask at the bar for the 'nano/book club people', they should be able to direct you to us. :-)

If you want a reminder about the meets, please set up your Nano profile to receive e-mail notifications whenever this thread is updated. I'll post a reminder a few days before each meet.

Any questions? Let me know. If not I'll hope to see some of you soon. :-)

Just wanted to thank the both of you for the dedication, perspiration and perseverance. I shall be popping along as frequently as it happens that I manage to remember to look at my calendar before a meeting rather than after. Still writing, now 21K +

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a great christmas and new year.

Just a quick reminder that there will be an interim meet this coming Saturday from 11am-2pm in CB2 Cafe in Norfolk Street. If you don't know where that is, please see the first post in this thread. :-)

As I'm taking part in a writing challenge on Saturday, I'm hoping to actually get some writing done at this meet, but there'll be more than enough time to catch up with one another too. :-)

Hope to see some of you there.

Hiya,

We are indeed.

It's amazing how you always manage to post the question just as I'm on my way here to post an reminder about the meet! :-)

Yep. Wednesday, from 7pm in the Blue. We'll be there until at least 9pm, probably later. Everyone welcome as usual!

See you there.

So, I waited long enough in the pub until I was sure nobody else was turning up tonight.....

On the plus side, I did get to drink chocolate beer for the first time, and even got some work done on my graphic novel!

We were there, honest! Like sniglet said, we didn't leave until nearly half ten. :o

Did you take a good look around? Our usual table is tucked around the back close to the kitchen (in the first bit of the conservatory). I suppose it would be quite easy to miss if you didn't know there was a table there...

Sorry about that, it would have been great to see you there.

Hope you can make it next time. :)

I arrived at 7 and looked everywhere. I was sitting at a table close to the main door from 7 'til 7.30, I didn't see anyone arrive at all....

Nobody said anything about a "usual table"... I'd never been before :(

I must have walked straight past you then. I was running late and didn't get there 'till ten past seven.

Sorry about the confusion. I'll update the post in time for the next meet to let people who haven't been before know where the table is. Didn't realise that people would miss it. :(

Hiya,

Just a quickie to remind people about the meet on Saturday, 11am-2pm at CB2 on Norfolk Street.

I'll have my laptop and may get some writing done so if anyone else wants to also get some words down on paper/screen (or just wants a coffee, lunch and a chat) feel free to wander along and join in. :-)

I'm bringing my laptop. Might be a bit late. :) Do we have a table? Because I'm horrible at remembering faces...

Great! We don't have a specific table, but we generally sit upstairs - I'll bring the 'No Plot' book and a NaNo table-tent label so you can spot us ;-)

Sorry to have to do this folks, but tomorrow's interim meet is being moved to Sunday 3pm-6pm. Same venue though.

The reason for this is that I'm ill and sniglet can't be there either. If we move it to Sunday, we should both be able to make it.

The meet is also being combined with the first Edmo meet of the month, so we'll be doing some reading and editing as well as the usual catching up, so bring your red pens!

Hope some of you will still be able to make it. :)

Absolutely. Same time, same place - see the first post in this thread for instructions on how to find the table. I'll try and be there well before 7pm, but if not the table is booked for us so look out for a piece of paper saying Nano/book club (or similar).

Look forward to catching up tomorrow. :-)

Hiya,

Due to family commitments I am unable to make the meet this Saturday.

Would anyone be interested in moving it to Sunday afternoon, or should we just give the Saturday meet a miss this month and resume at the pub on the 16th instead?

Either is fine with me. :-)

Is there still a meet this wednesday? Am I still welcome? Do any of you remember me?
