Dahlonega, GA?

Any NGCSU students out here? Any one from that delightful little "first gold rush town" of Dahlonega? If so, the fudge shop on the square, heaven or weight gain threat? Both. I commute on weekends home to Suwanee, GA but I'm starting to think of Dahlonega as home. Just wondering if I'm the only one in this little town doing NaNoWriMo this year.

Okay!

So last year, the Statesboro area started with 4 Wrimos and ended with just 2 finishers, myself and CrouchingMouse.

Anyone from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, or the surrounding area interested in putting together a bigger writing force? If we get over 5 or so, I'll even buy the little NaNoWriMo chart for 10 novelists and track our progress! This will mark my last NaNoWriMo in Statesboroland, before I graduate and move to A: Jacksonville or B: Chicago.

Yea, big difference in weather on those two. Yike!

So anyway, who's with me!?

Hi everybody, and welcome to NaNoWriMo 2008! I'll be your Deputy ML this year, since Whitney (redcurlkennesaw) is off in Italy being all awesome and scholarly. My name's Allison, this is my fifth NaNo, and I'm hoping for a third win. (Finally got a full-time job, so we'll see how THAT goes.) I'm usually found running around in the Woodstock-Kennesaw-Marietta-Mableton stretch of Georgia, but lemme know where you guys are and I'll try to make a trip.

We should be getting a pretty embedded link to our Regional Event Google Calendar here shortly. That should make finding events a snap for everyone this year...if we use it right! I'm going to go through all our threads and try to find events that everyone's planning, but I am only human, so I might miss something.

Sooooo, if you've got an event that you've finalized, please put a little note in here. It'll make it that much easier for people to find out about your event and join in the NaNo fun. ^_^

So... Who's all back from Albany for another year of NaNo? I didn't get very far last year, I had a lot of personal problems going on with friends, and I'm pretty sure Ragnarok Online was another factor into the story death, but I'm back for another go and a month of pure torture, I mean fun.

I'm up in Ellijay. I've managed to win nano all 4 years I've tried, and I'm hoping to increase the streak. Anyone want to meet up in the area, post here. I was thinking either Starbucks or a buffet would be a good place to hold meetings. I'll check back in later.
