Okay, this is really really confusing....
All right. Here we go.
My two FMC's are going to have their house taken away. First it was by a banker, but that doesn't actually, um, work. Then it was by a buyer, but that is FAR too cliche and yeah. I need to know any reasons that someone would have to forfeit their house in modern day Canada, and how they could stop said person. Also, just throwing this in, the person is old, briefcased, suited, and veryvery short.
Help me? I would be done my stupidrotten story if not for him.

If it's in the forum, and it doesn't make sence, then I probably posted it.

He's an evil business man who has somehow convinced the local government to condemn the property and allow him to buy it at a cheap price because he has inside information about a huge project in the works - dam, new highway, public school whatever.

I don't know what would make them need to forfeit his house, but someone (or a company) could really like the land his house is on and want to buy him off of it. Can the Canadian government buy land from its citizens, because if the gov't wanted the land couldn't they just kick him off? I know it has happened in the US.

Wow, fast replies! Erm...Yeah, that'd work. It's more that I need to figure out how they could keep it without making the story a huge amount longer (I'm ready to be finished. The characters are all sick of me and ready for me to leave them alone.)

In the future, you'll find you get better/faster responses if you use a descriptive subject line, as per the stickied guidelines at the top of the forum. :)
