Hey! This might be my nano book, so PLEASE don't steal my idea. Thanks!
Okay, I haven't gotten all of the details yet so it's a little rough. Basically, it's in the future that's not very different from now, except for one thing: They have been having a lot of trouble with all the youths of the world. Little kids are starting gangs. They are extremely violent towards each other. School is chaos. The government wants to start changing that.
What they do is take 6-10 babies who otherwise would've gone to foster care. They are raised in complete Amish existence, with no connection to the outside world whatsoever. They are in the middle of the woods in a really big log cabin. Their care takers are a team of professionals certified in phychology, child care, and education. They don't know anything violent, and everything about their lifestyle mimics that of a colonial person down to their clothing. Upstairs in the cabin, there are phones and computers for the researchers to use, but the kids are locked out of there.
Then, when they turn 12, they learn a little about how there is an outside world and they are put into adoption/foster families. From there each kid goes a different path. Some might get swept away in the current of the new world and others might stay true to their upbringing (again, I need to work out the details.) Each kid stays in contact with their caretakers, and the caretakers note how the kid is adjusting. The final chapter would be an analysis of their "experiment" and whether they think it worked or not.
Frankly, I have no idea what genre that would be. Any thoughts?

Well, I'm not completely sure, but I'm guessing teens or adults. I can't imagine this would be for young kids.
It's hard for me to say it's for adults because I have yet to reach adulthood. So yeah, I'll say teens, maybe leaking over a bit to adults.

*bump* lol
I'm starting to think this plot might be futuristic, like dystopia or something, but I'm still not sure...any help would be appreciated.

There's really no need to bump, the forums aren't really all that active this time of the year. ;)
Anyway, I'd personally call it something like soft science fiction.
