Alright, I like to plan ahead of time so here's my question:
I'm writing a fanfiction for the Fantasy movie Labyrinth. Now, because I'm writing Fanfiction am I automatically in 'other genres'? My story is going to end up as a bit of a crossover with Phantom of the Opera, but is Fantasy with some Mytstery and romance.
Any help would be great! Thanks! -Kore

No. You can hang out wherever you want. If you're writing fantasy and want to be there I'm sure you'll find others who are writing fanfic too. Some may post in Other also, I can't remember, so after the boards are cleaned you might want to look around both areas and see who shows up.

You can't edit what you haven't written.

Most of the fanficcers I think posted here, simply because of the nature of the writing - using characters already existing in film, TV, etc. However, if you were writing say a "Star Wars" fic, I'd imagine you would find the plot and genre details to be better discussed maybe in the Sci Fi forum. If it's about limitations of planets, time travel etc., then you'd need genre. If it was about choices or challenges in writing with fanfic characters, you'd find more people here - it's the place where all fanficcers can come, regardless of their genre (so you wouldn't have to go to romance, sci fi, historical fic, etc. and find a fanfic thread in each, if your question was specifically about fanfic challenges).
If that made sense lol - you know what I mean, right?

You're welcome to post in as many forums as apply; fanfic is such a far-reaching genre that it can literally be almost anything! You're welcome to post fantasy questions in fantasy, mystery questions in mystery, and Labyrinth specific questions either here or anywhere else that applies! The forums aren't exclusive clubs... as long as it's at least close to on topic, it's all good!
