Your MLs have scheduled nine official write-ins. Except for the last-day write-in, all official write-ins are Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings. The schedule is below. Please note; there has been a schedule change on Nov. 25 and Nov. 30.

Details of the TGIO (Thank God Its Over!) Party will be announced once they are finalized.

It's exciting to see folks planning unofficial write-ins on your own, and your MLs especially appreciate your scheduling around the official events (Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings). If anything gets set far enough in advance, please be sure to contact us (the link is on the top of the Boston forums page) so we can add it to our Google Calendar.

Folks interested in hosting an event in a specific area (a college, neighborhood, etc.,), please start a new thread for your neighborhood (like the ones above), then contact your MLs to let us know so we can link them to this thread. Posting replies to this thread gives the MLs nothing to link to. Thanks!

Hello all--

Instead of the clunky calendar interface of past years, National Novel Writing Month is now using Google Calendars to track regional events. On the regional forums page, below the tabs, is a link called "Check your official Boston calendar of events"Check your official Boston calendar of events." Clicking this will take you to the Google Calendars website, where you'll see events listed in a calendar format. Clicking on the links will bring up an information bubble with all the information for an event.

In addition, we will continue to make forum posts for upcoming events with the same data (location, map link, MBTA transit options, etc.) in our regional forums as well, and we will try our best to cross-link this information so that everything is as accurate as possible.

If you decide to host an unofficial write-in (I think the Tufts folks are looking at just that option), please e-mail us so we can add your data to the Google Calendar. We want to do all we can to encourage folks to keep writing, and also want to do our best to make your efforts worthwhile. We do request that you not schedule events for Saturdays or Tuesdays, though; those are the official write-in days.

While some events have been put into place on the Google Calendar, all information is tentative until a post is made to the local forums. We'll do our best to have everything confirmed before November starts, though. Anna (QueenOfTheUniverse) and I are doing our best duck imitations (Calm on the surface, but paddling like the dickens underneath) to make this year the best ever.

Fellow Highschoolers Unite!

I understand that most people don't start writing books until they're out of highschool and even out of college. However, I presume that there must be a few like me suffering through the doldrums of Calculus, European History, and Ethics while simultaniously working on their movel. If you are in high school please respond, say anything, complain about the ridiculous non-writing work you're doing, the annoyance of grades, the verbal bashings of teachers, anything to let me know that I am not alone! And, if anyone goes to St. Johns Prep. in Danvers MA, let me know.

Where: 238 Main St., Cambridge, MA 02142 (Google maps link)

Description: The restaurant is located on Main Street, between Kendall Square and the Longfellow Bridge. It is near MIT.

The management and staff at this location has graciously allowed us to use their space for several hours for a write-in. Please show your appreciation by purchasing a little something (soda, snack, sandwich), so that we make it worthwhile and may be able to return in the future.

MBTA: The restaurant is near Kendall Station on the Red Line.

Driving: Follow the map link above for door-to-door directions. On-street parking is scarce in this area. A parking garage is available a few blocks away at Cambridge Center (entrance off Ames St.), but it is pricey.

Write in - Subway restaurant (near Fenway Park) - Nov. 15

Where: Subway, 1315 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02215 Subway Location Map: (Google maps link)

Description: We return to Subway this weekend for a write-in from 2 - 4 pm. The folks at this Subway have always been super-nice (and indulgent) to our band of crazed wrimos taking over the back of the store. Please show them a little love and purchase something while we're there -- even a drink -- to show our appreciation.

MBTA: The Subway is located near the Kenmore stop on the Green Line (B,C,D lines). It is also very near the Route 55 bus (Boylston St. at Jersey St.) and a couple of blocks from the 8, 19, 60, and 65 buses (Boylston St. at Park Drive).

Driving: See the Google Maps link above for driving directions. On-street parking is metered, but can be scarce. Local parking lots (Landmark Center, Trilogy building) are pricey but convenient.

Hey Boston Wrimos,

Sad news in Shelly-land. Due to some medical developments, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to any of our write-ins. I really loved writing with all of you guys and I had a ton of fun. :(

On the positive side, I'm going to keep writing, and I'm hoping to be able to make it to the TGIO party in December. Fingers crossed!

As for me - I answer to Mimi (among other things), I'm a junior, and I've been doing NaNo since 8th grade, and have won every time. I'm also the co-pres of the BLS Writing Club that nobody knows exists.

Description: Please join us for another long write-in at the Au Bon Pain at Copley Place. Au Bon Pain is on the lower level at the Stuart Street entrance to the mall.

MBTA: Copley Place is located near Back Bay Station on the Orange Line and south Commuter Rail lines, and two blocks walking distance from Copley Station on the Green Line.

Driving: Parking is available in Copley Place mall but can be pricey. Ditto the Prudential Center. On-street parking is metered, often requires a parking permit, and is scarce. Parking at 116 Huntington Avenue (Huntington at Garrison St.) is $10 for an indefinite period on weekends -- a great deal.
