So, may as well repost this, it was a popular thread last year...
Introduce yourselves! We're all in the same age group where our lives are changing. We're going to uni, moving out, getting married, having kids and generally having a pretty stressful time... So lets tell each other a bit about ourselves so that we can see we're not alone!
I'm fairly boring. I'm 23 and I work for local government in the Education Dept. I move teachers to rural parts of the top end of Australia so they can go teach at places close to Ayers Rock, as an example. It's good, a job I could do during the day so I can write at every other time ;)
I still live with my parents, because housing prices are atrocious where I live - way too expensive to move out. I don't have a boyfriend, but I have a few fantastic friends which is enough for me. My best friend, Kane, and I bicker like a married couple anyway, so who needs to get married when I have that? :D
I've been writing almost daily for the past ten years, and I've done and won NaNo since 2004. I've been a municipal liaison and mod for NaNo since 2005 and I adore it here - if it wasn't for NaNo I wouldn't be writing as much as I am now :)
My favourite authors are Jennifer Fallon (and I had lunch with her a week ago!), Sara Douglass and Scott Lynch - The Lies of Locke Lamora is my favourite book of all time.
I live for TV, currently obsessed with Glee, Supernatural, LOST, FlashForward, Chuck, Leverage, Merlin, NCIS, NCIS LA, House MD, Castle, Dexter, Dollhouse, Doctor Who, Torchwood... and the list goes on. I've recently finished Avatar: The last Airbender and Harper's Island and adored them both.
....Well, this has been rambley enough. Come on everyone, introduce yourselves! :D
And let's make this year FANTASTIC :) Let's write more than any other age group!

hi!
i'm 28 (almost out of this section, eh?), and living in philly (used to live in memphis, tn ... quite a change!).
i've been writing since about 5 years old, but i plagarized for most of my childhood ... i'd hear a story i loved and wish i'd written it so badly, that i'd just go ahead and write it. that turned into star trek: the next generation fanfic (i still have those, somewhere ... bad, horrible stuff!), and eventually into my teens, i developed my own style.
i love music and cats and frappuccinos at starbucks (though i'm branching out on my coffee places, too and giving the local businesses a try. there are some really good ones).
*waves* nice to meet you!!

great idea!!
i'm 25, and work in a hospital library - i'm hunting for a "real librarian" (i.e. qualified) job at the moment but until then this pays the bills...i share a house with two other girls and am oh so very single.
i love the 1940's/50's - the rat pack, all that jazz...i've just started taking tap dancing classes (picking up where i left off at 8 years old!) i love reading and writing (durr) and music and films and hanging out with my friends; i knit and make jewellery. oh and i caught the first episode of "flashforward" on tv the other night and it definately looks like it'll be my new tv-obsession (now that the mentalist is off-air and grissom is not in csi, pout.)
aaaaaand yes. there we have it. helloooo!!

Hi all!
I'm 27, working for an academic project at the university, trying to figure out how best to use the publishing certificate I just acquired from another University (because after I finished my MA, I wasn't ready to *not* be a student). I love writing, but I also love editing. I'm also a story addict - books, television, movies, plays, news articles.... I love absorbing it all!
I live with my partner of eight and a half years and fiance of two, our two cats (Lucy and Essay). I've done Nanowrimo six times, four wins and two losses, and this year I am going to embark on my first zombie book as I feel compelled to tip my hat to Nano traditions :)
I strongly believe that Nanowrimo is best as a shared experience and really bonded with the group who turned out in my community last year. And I cannot believe that we only have 4 weeks to go! Woot!

Hi,
I'm 21, first NaNo. I'm from South Africa. Spent my first few years out of school working random jobs, Personal Assistant/Office assistant type stuff. Had a year of that in Canada too. Now I'm back home, unemployed, but starting studies in Fine Arts in Jan 2010. Erm... Married, have two nuisance cats, Looki and Tybalt.
And.... my attempt at NaNo will be of the post apocalyptic kind. :P

Hi!
I'm 23, this will be my third Nano, won the last two years and I'm probably going to be writing Young Adult fiction again this year (I think during uni my brain was too fried to come up with new ideas for novels, so now I'm just using and upgrading and drastically changing ideas I had in my teens when life was still simple!). I just finished my MA and am currently jobless. I'm currently trying to get a job and a new place to live. Hopefully I'll have achieved at least one of these goals by 1 November. :)

Hello! I'm Erin, I'm 20 years-old, and a sophomore in college.
I go to school in west Michigan, but I live in northwestern Michigan and I love it!
I don't have a job right now, but this summer I had a wonderful job as a teacher's assistant in a preschool for the children of migrant workers.
At the moment I'm an undecided major and a Spanish minor (I've been taking Spanish for almost 6 years), but I'm considering making that a Spanish major or going into education. It's so hard to decide!!
I loved writing short stories when I was in elementary school, and in junior high and high school I wrote Lord of the Rings fanfiction. I still read a lot of it . . . I just haven't written it in a while (*nerd*)
This is my first NaNo! I had intended to do it last year, but I chickened out - this year, I'm determined to at least try :)
I love: dance (I used to take ballet and stuff, though I wasn't too good . . . I also did a lot of Irish dance, which was amazingly fun!), Twitter, YouTube, So You Think You Can Dance, Glee, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model (even though it's become kind of crazy!), Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Trek (the movies), Show Tunes (if you love them too, I'd love to hear some suggestions for more music to put on my iPod!) . . . basically I'm a huge nerd!
Nice to meet you all! :D

Hi! I'm 21 and I am Canadian. My fiance and I have a one month old son and we live with his family temporarily (if we can get his mom to let him go). This is my first year doing NaNo and I hope it will help me keep writing. I usually have a problem with starting stories and getting stuck or losing momentum. I mostly write fantasy. I love mythology and history. In fact, I sometimes dress like a pirate for no reason other than I like it. I know a lot about mental health because of a lot of experience. I don't know what else to say right now.

Hey!
I'm Damian; 24, college grad (for a year and a half already!), lesbian/genderqueer, tragically single and not likely to change that anytime soon at this rate. I live with my mother and have a "temp" government data entry job (getting this job interrupted last year's NaNo, hence the quotes on "temp" - I've been here a while).
My life is defined by trying to break free of the Catholic Church. It hasn't worked yet.
I've been on an anti-TV kick for the last year or two, but then NCIS:LA started - two episodes so far (four if you count the NCIS episodes that started the spinoff) and I'm already hooked.
I write year-round, though not as much as I'd like. NaNo actually gets in the way of my writing sometimes, but I keep trying. Maybe this year I'll actually win. I've been writing all my life (storytelling before I knew how to write), and seriously trying to write fantasy novels since I was 13. What I have to show for over ten years of work is three first drafts, all of them short enough that "novella" is probably a more accurate word, though two of them did at least make it over 50k. I also have so many beginnings and ideas that I mean to get back to someday that I need a database to keep track of them.

I'm Josh, 25, and I work as a web developer for a search company. I graduated a couple years ago with a Computer Science degree and a minor in English. (I like to quip that I'm a programmer who is pro-grammar.)
My company is based in Iowa, but I I live in North Dakota with my lovely wife of two years. I basically spend most of my time in my office, working and writing. Sometimes getting out of the house is a treat instead of a chore, even if all I'm doing is buying groceries, especially as the cold starts to arrive this time of year.
I've been writing since I was in the 6th grade, and was too stubborn to quit when my first stories weren't very good. I wrote my first novel (also not very good) when I was in the 8th grade and have had a love-affair with long-form fiction ever since. Short stories and I get on okay, but novels are where it's at.
I'm a procrastinator and a "starter" but rarely a "finisher", so Nano is perfect for me unless I get overwhelmed, or attacked by clowns. Neither is very conducive to story writing. This year, I've grown attached to the idea of doing a steampunk novel, and when I found out it was "Steampunk Month" over at Tor.com, well, that was the writing on the wall.
I've recently been reading "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell, and it's riveting. I'm looking forward to the end of the month, so I can speed through the most recent Wheel of Time novel before November starts.
When I'm not programming, writing, or being mauled by clowns, I enjoy reading (mostly fantasy), gaming (video and tabletop), and all kinds of music (but I'm a sucker for acoustic). I'm a huge fan of social media, and I Twitter with some regularity. I watch The Office religiously, but I'm also a fan of HIMYM and Castle. I enjoy taking walks probably more than is normal, especially if there's water nearby.
Glad to meet you all!

Hello!
I'm recently 24, with a degree in Creative Writing and Literature that I'm putting to awesome use by...working in advertsing. Not writing copy. So there's that. I want to be a book editor when I grow up, and usually correct bad grammar in my head. I tried doing it out loud for awhile, but all my friends started to hate me.
What else...I live in Baltimore City, I'm currently single, and when I'm not writing I'm doing something crafty- I sew, knit, crochet, needlepoint, you name it. I have an AWESOME rescued pit bull. She was a bait dog in a fighting ring and doesn't have a nose, but she rocks that look like no other. I have 9 tattoos and I'm finally starting a back piece later this month, which I'm totally jazzed about.
This is my first time doing this. Someone told me about it on Thanksgiving last year and I've wanted to try it since then. I'm writing a thriller/supernatural story. I'd like some writing buddies because that sounds fun. I'll probably be in the forums a lot during the day.
That's it!

Hi!
I'm Jenny, 27 yrs old. This is my first time doing Nano. Only heard about it last year and didn't really care.. ;p
This years marks a lot of firsts for me with regards to pursuing my passions like music, learning languages, and writing. Well actually, I learned to play the guitar around July last year (taught myself---pats self on the back). I took Spanish lessons beginning of this year, made some Spanish-speaking friends too over the internet; and of course, writing. Early this year I posted on fanfiction.net my first fanfic that I actually wrote 8 years ago, I think. Planning to make posting there as a regular thing from now on to practice writing fiction.
I've been working as a programmer for about 5 years now. In that time, I've been with three different companies. And now I'm thinking about going back to school and get another (non-technical) degree. Perhaps one that will get me into making a career out of writing. When I was in highschool until I graduated college, I considered programming as a passion. I still love it and I can see myself doing it for another 5 years or so but then I want to see as well where my passion for writing would take me. Life is a journey, living is an adventure =)

Hi!
I'm Sandra, 21 years old, from Sweden. I'm quite boring, I don't have a job as I've had a rough few years, but I am finally getting the help we've been fighting for and I am very happy to say that November 1 I will be moving into my own appartment! So it'll be quite a challange bouncing Nanowrimo with moving out, but to comfort myself I just think that it can hardly go worse than it has the last three years. This year I AM going to win!
I've always known I wanted to be a writer. Even before I learned to write! My mind is filled to bursting point with amazing stories, the only problem is that I've had this nasty writer's block for years.
But I really do believe that things will work themselves out. At some point.
I'm so glad Nanowrimo is closing in! It really is the event of the year! :D

My turn! ^^
So I'm 21 and I'm from Canada, but I'm doing my last year of University in Alicante, Spain (yep in october and I'm still wearing shorts and flip-flop O.o that's pretty weird for the Canadian that I am) in translation (english to french, spanish to french). I'm a chocolate addict (and a coffee addict to) and I love to read and to write. I also have a thing for tidy and shiny notebooks eventhough I'm a mess when taking notes in class. I love hockey and I'm a kind of little sc-fi geek (little, very little ;). It'll be my second year at NaNo and I'm already harrassing people around me about it. Oh and I love rock music.
Current obessions (in general)... please take note that some of them are pemanent : Torchwood (and you can't possibly watch torchwood without developing an obession for Ianto/Jack), Hugh Jackman, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, chocolate, the beach of Alicante, London, l'Auberge Espagnole (movie), True Blood (and Eric XD), Queen, weather and spanish grammar.
I've read all your posts guysand it's very exciting to see are different we all are.
See you around!

Hi,
I'm Kat, a 25 year old native New Yorker. I am currently on break from grad school which allows we the luxury to do Nano again this year. When in school I'm working on my MS in Library and Information science and like seven_swans looking for a librarian position after working for over 9 years as a page at my local library.
I've never considered myself a writer until I won Nano last year. (My friends though like to consider me their online editor :P) Though I have to admit my British lit professor in my undergrad certainly helped me become more comfortable with my writing.
When I'm not working or in school I'm usually online with my friends and listening to music or watching tv. My music tastes are pretty eclectic but my preferences for tv shows tend to hand towards crime dramas or dramas in general such as House, CSI:NY and NCIS.

Hello everyone,
My name is Marissa. I am 25 years old and I am orginially from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, but now currently living in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia by Maryland and Virginia. I am about an hour outside of Washington D.C. I am married to the love of my life, we currently dont have any children unless you count our wonderful doggies. I am a housewife and a online college student.
This is my first year taking part in this and I am excite for November 1st. Sadly I am a little worried since I will have family staying here from November 6th until December 2nd. Thats going to make it hard to write but I warned them before they made plans.

Hey, I'm Danielle and I'm an alcho...wait...wrong group.
Anyway, I'm 25 and graduated with a degree in Graphic Design and while that's cool for me, I think it's one of the hardest markets to get into, especially now. Currently unemployed, which sucks, but hopefully I'll find something soon. At the very least NaNo will keep my mind occupied next month.
I live in Knoxville, TN with my wonderful fiance whom I've been with for three years. I moved here from Minnesota to be with him so that was QUITE the change. We also have an Akita puppy (well, 9 years old) and a Bombay cat (who is a little hyper psycho).
I've been writing off and on since I was about 8. The early stuff was mostly ripped off from movies and I'd try and rewrite it. Later in my teen years it was some short stories that I never got around to finishing and really bad poetry about the angst of my teenage life.
I'm a movie nut, but mostly the drama and fantasy genre. Some of the ones I love, love, love and can watch over and over again are Lord of the Rings, Pulp Fiction, The Princess Bride, Gladiator, The Last of the Mohicans, Boondock Saints, The Bourne Trilogy, and the X-Men trilogy.
I mostly write fantasy, which is what I'm doing this year for my first NaNo. I'm not done with my outlines yet, but I've researched the ever-lovin' crap outta it on stuff that may not even make it into the book.
Well, that's enough from me. Nice to meet y'all and good luck.

Name's Andrea, 23, from Florissant, Missouri (north St. Louis county for you non-local peoples) grad student getting my MFA in creative writing at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I work at a local credit union part-time, critique stories for class and read the other part of the time.
I live with my mom and two sisters, one of which is my twin (we're the worst twins ever...we're not even the same skin color) and my oldie but goodie dog Brittany, who turned 13 not too long ago. We are a group of women that probably should not be in the same house anymore, but alas, I have no money to move out since grad school's sucking it all up. Such is life.
I'm not a consistant writer. I'll write in spurts, which is probably why I don't finish most of my non NaNo novels (and why NaNo is refreshing because it forces me to write). But I've wanted to write hardcore for fun since 6th grade and have been pecking at it ever since. I'm a fantasy writer, even in my literary fiction workshop classes (I've been getting positive responses though, which is good). I tend to mix fantasy with literary fiction because I love the world building of fantasy but the real-feeling characters of literary fiction. So why not do both?
My current project outside of NaNo is a four part novel series called The Arcanum, and it's based off of Tarot cards. As in, the cards are the characters (which people think is a cool spin on the use of the Tarot). The two NaNos under my belt are a duet that I came up with my sophomore year of high school and decided to trash the first draft and start again with only my notes. So six novels in the works that will hopefully be published some day. More than anything, that's my goal.
So hopefully I can successfully participate in NaNo this year with stories and projects flying around. Time to get outlining and then get cracking!

WERD UP,
I'm DuraKaN, 22, and I've just begun a degree course in Accounting and Finance at Oxford Brookes University in England! I usually do NaNo along with a full-time job, so it should be interesting to see what happens now that I have all this free time... I've a feeling it might actually be more difficult, without a solid schedule to stick to. Oh, and I also have a part-time job, so it's not all word counts and roses.
When I'm not writing, I'm usually sleeping or working. If I'm not doing those things either, then I'm usually playing Guitar Hero or Final Fantasy or Civilization IV or whiling away my spare time in some other pointless fashion. Erm... what else... my best friend is called Smokey the Pig, I used to make chainmail (for about a week), and I once fainted while giving a presentation in my first stint at university, back when I studied Archaeology.
In NaNoWriMo, I usually try to write humour. This year I will be attempting two novels. The first one is about a man who travels the world studying the way that toilets flush in different countries, and the second one is about a food critic who winds up on some cookery show which is all a big sham designed to make him look like a total arse, because everyone hates him. No, my plots don't make any sense to me either.
Bon chance!

writer_deuce, I think your tarot idea is SO cool. Good luck with it!
Anyway, about me. I'm Lora, 21 years old (but only for the rest of October! My 22nd birthday is halloween and I'm excited to stay up all night celebrating, and then NaNoing once midnight strikes). I live in Nebraska, but I've only been here for the last four years. before that I lived in London, and before that I lived in Seattle (my dad was Navy, so we moved around a lot and ended up in England for twelve years. I think it explains a lot about me).
Right now I'm a college student at UNL, wandering through my senior year as an English Major with minors in History and Classical Studies. I'm probably not going to graduate until December 2010, but that's because I only take the bare minimum credits required to be full time to I can work as well as study (or, you know, I'm just lazy. Whatever.). After I graduate, I'm thinking about going to graduate school for library science. Any excuse to be around books all the time!
Right now I'm taking three classes; History of Fascism in Europe, Theory of Film and Elementary Latin. All of them are reading intensive, but fun. And yeah, I decided to learn Latin on a whim because I had some credit hours left over. For funsies. I also work two jobs; one is a snack bar job, the other is a library job, and I enjoy them both quite a bit. Especially since working at a campus library is like paid study hall (guess where I am now).
My family lives about twenty minutes drive from campus, but I have a tiny apartment about a fifteen minute walk from campus, which I share with my roommates Chris and John (John is my boyfriend of a year and nine months) and Sebastian, a fat black cat with a high-pitched mew. We're also getting a kitten soon, so I'll let you guys know if all hell breaks loose.
When I'm not studying or working, I like videogames (even though I suck at them), playing Dungeons and Dragons, watching movies that are so bad they're good, and catching up on my favorite TV shows. I don't have cable, but I live on the internet, so I catch up with my favorite shows on Hulu and other sites. Current shows I can't stop watching include Castle, Bones, Warehouse 13, True Blood and Dollhouse. I'm also a huge Whedon nerd, so I spend a lot of nights having Firefly, Angel or Buffy marathons. Yeah, I'm a fantasy nerd.
I'm excited for this year's NaNo because I've actually convinced a good half-dozen of my local friends to sign up with me! So I won't be holed up in coffee shops alone... I'll have company!

Morning, I'm Shea and I'm 24. I graduated with a BA in Interactive Arts and Technology in the spring, still live with my parents and currently am working two jobs very part time, which gives me lots of free time for working on projects and not enough money to move out as I'd like to.
I've been writing for years and would like to tell stories in every medium. I'm helping to write a game now with a small group of others and have finished a few novels in the past. I've also done a short video for class and am working with someone on an animation project. I still need to get to work trying out comics, though. I just can't get my head around panelling.
November first is one of the best days of the year for me. It's the start of actually starting a new project beyond notes for me and it's cheap candy day! And I do like candy. And starting new projects.

Hey guys!
I'm Tess, a twenty year old girl from the Netherlands (so that explains the typo's ;)
Currently, I'm working as a sport instructor at a highschool and part-time at the local McD. Last year I graduated from highschool myself.
This is the third time that I'll de NaNo and actually the second attempt for this particulair story. The first time I ended up at 7k, but I still am in love with the characters and story itself, so I deceided to do a totall rewrite. The story is in Dutch and called When Angels fall. The story is about a student called Lieke and her teacher Jared. Lieke just moved from another village and changed school, but can't seem to really fit into the class. There is one boy, called Neill, who starts to talk to her and eventually they start to be some kind of friends.
Because they are quite different from the other kids in class, they get bullied a lot. That, plus the fact that the stepfather of Lieke is molesting her, makes it a very hard time for Jared, who tries to fix things, but fails misserably.
In the end, things really get out of hand and bad things start to happen.
They all know where they're going to, but neither one of them can do anything to stop it.
Ah... it doesn't say a lot, but I love it :)
Hobbies: I play guitar, write, read and draw a lot. Music is my life. Internet keeps me buisy.
If you want to get in contact, hofman_tessa@hotmail.com is my MSN adres and you can find me at LiveJournal (username Bono_Rox). I'd love to meet some new people (though I'm quite a silent kid)!

Hi There!
I'm 25, a freelance writer, ballroom/jazz dancer, and bookseller. I'm in an open marriage, so I have a fantastic husband AND a fantastic boyfriend. Husband and I have an apartment that we share with 12 degus, which are the cutest rodents on the face of the earth. (By the way, we have too many, so if you live in the Austin, TX area and want a pet, message me!). I have a master's degree in English literature and a recovering academic.
I've been writing since I was 12, mostly poetry. Recently, though, I've developed an interest in writing erotic flash fiction. I've been doing NaNo since 2005, although last year was my first win. Hopefully this year will be my second!

Hey, I'm Liz, I'll turn 25 right before Nanowrimo starts, and I live in Des Moines, Iowa.
I'm a pretty boring person: I grew up in western Illinois, moved to Des Moines for college, where I got a degree in Graphic Design and English. I moved to Nashville briefly, but moved back to Des Moines.
I live in an old house with two roommates. We don't have any pets, but there are a ton of cats the run around outdoors in our neighborhood, so that's enough for us right now.
I'm big in to travel; after graduating I drove around the US for three weeks because I had nothing else to do. I've been to Africa. It's a life goal of mine to visit every state in the US. Also, I color in the counties when I visit them. (OCD much?)
I also love being outdoors. If it'd be closer to my family, I'd live on a secluded mountain. But, there aren't many mountains in the midwest.
I wrote a lot from the ages of, oh, 11-15 (they were angsty years for me.) But I never really did much on my own after that. In college I focused on Creative Non-Fiction, so this will be a nice change back to fiction for me. I considered doing the first story I wrote (never finished) but it was historical fiction, and I'm pretty it's 90% inaccurate for the time period, so I chose to do something a little easier, at least in the research department.

Hello everyone!!
I'm currently 20 years old and a junior at Michigan State University. I'm studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in mathematics (and a potential double major with computer engineering, I haven't decided for sure yet!!). I've been trying very hard to get some friends of mine to do this, but they all think I'm insane and/or crazy for even trying this. This will be my second year, but last year was kind of a joke since I had to 'drop' out because life got way too complicated too quickly for me to handle everything.
As any writer (I'd think) I love reading, some of my favorite authors are Sara Douglass, Terry Goodkind, and Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. As an engineer, I think it's pretty much natural for me to be a geek of sorts. I love messing around with computers, either by trying to design software for a processor (currently I'm trying to design a low-power plant watering system for the plants in my dorm room) or with hardware by building and repairing computers for myself, friends, and family.
I can't wait for NaNo this year! I have a really good idea I think, and I can't wait to see what it turns into. Let's make this NaNo memorable!!

Hi everyone!
I'm Rae, and I'm 22, in undergrad, finishing my degree in December, and generally attempting life. Lora_Hex - I'm with you on the birthdays; I'll be 23 on Halloween, so cheers to us! And might as well shout-out to any other Halloweeners out there who plan to celebrate first, write later.
I'm from Tennessee and have lived here all my life. I joined NaNo last year, wrote most of November for catharsis and didn't win the contest. I'm okay with that, though, because winning really wasn't my objective. This year, however, I plan to write a fantasy that's been brewing in my head for ages, and I look forward to the challenge of making it work.
Right now I'm a student majoring in Management (sort of) and planning to graduate in December. I'm lucky enough to have only 12 hours of classes to contend with, an amazing class schedule of classes only Tues-Thurs, and no job. I'm single, of course, and living at home until I decide to do something else.
Hmm... I consider myself a writer and have written everything from journals to poems to sermon notes to newspaper articles (front-page at that!) to fanfiction, and I adore the written language. Here's hoping I'll finish NaNo well AND manage to keep my grades up in the month of November!
Nice to meet everyone, and feel free to add me as a buddy if you're so inclined.

Hi there! I'm Kimberly. I'm 28 and I live in Durham, NC with my husband of a little over two months and his cat.
I'm currently in library school pursuing certification to be a school librarian. I also work with an educational organization, lining up lesson plans with the NC school curriculum. I was a Latin teacher from July 2004-June 2009 and taught in rural and suburban settings.
My hobbies (sorely neglected right now!) include theatre, crochet, and video games. But mostly now I go to class, go to work, do my homework (lots of reading!), go to bed, and start all over again. I eat somewhere in there, too.

Hello! I'm Katy, I'm 29 and I live in Hertfordshire in England, but really come from North Wales.
I'm married with an eight month old daughter, and have been doing Nano on and off since 2004.
I don't get as much time to read since Holly was born, but I work hard at making time to write. Since I'm no longer working full time, or travelling the world for work, I manage to fit it in well enough.
This year, I'm planning to write a YA supernatural mystery, although I have to finish my current romance/women's fiction novel first... The idea is to let the first draft of that rest while I do Nano, then go back and edit the romance in December and get it off to my agent before Christmas!
Since Holly objects to me reading, writing, or using the computer when I could be playing with her, most of my writing is done when she's asleep. I also make jewellery and greetings cards to sell online.
Hopefully my husband is going to be as supportive this year as he always is, and take over some of the cooking when my word count is falling behind!
Looking forward to writing with you all...

Hello. I'm newly 20 (literally, 5 days ago). I'm not in college and I've had issues finding work (have an interview tomorrow, however). I've gone to college for culinary and for teaching and didn't complete either as it wasn't where I wanted to be.
I live with mom still, hard to get out when there's no job market to save money with. I've a boyfriend who lives here with me.
I haven't been writing so much because I've been blocked for a long time. I'm hoping NaNo can help me break the block. ^^
