Essentially if you live near an island or on an island then you're in the right spot. I think right now there's 5 of us... maybe.

Quickly before I forget:
Kick off party details- are we thinking the weekend of the 22nd to the 26th works? Maybe Saturday October 24th? I think that's the time frame we were talking about with Come's anime thing and closeness to November 1st. Halloween is on a Saturday this year, meaning kick off is Sunday. And I think Anacortes was looking like where we were thinking because people are coming from Burlington and Oak Harbor...

That sounds all official despite just waking up!

That day range is good for me. I'm just praying that I don't get scheduled for work the day we choose. *crosses fingers for luck* What time are we looking at?

I have no real time frame. I work nights so days I have off my mental clock is all over the place.

That day range works for me, just fine. Name a time & place, and we'll be there.

Either Saturday or Sunday works for me. I have class Fridays. So during that weekend my only issue is school.

It sounds like folks are nervously circling around, looking at Saturday, Oct. 24 in Anacortes, somewhere at some time that day. Right? Since I'm not burdened with school or work, one of you pounce on this and set a place and time that suits. Time is slipping by. We gotta make a decision here! (grin)

Date: Oct. 24th
Time: 2pm?
Location: Johnny Picasso's? (I will give the address, I just want to walk in first. I've lived here for almost a year and still haven't been in there...). It's in Anacortes, on Commercial.
What to bring: Any pre-writing stuff you're working on, ideas, etc. I'll bring any dorky Nano stuff I have left from MLing years.

Hello, hi, it's me, again. I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong section... there is a teen NaNoWriMo... right? :) Just kidding. You guys (well, you Kimby) are incredibly fun to write with... or just listen to talk. Again, you Kimby. :)

Cheers.

Kimby: anytime you can send that address would be fine. Otherwise, I'll just "mapquest" it.

Elizabeth: welcome! I'm certain that we're an "all ages" group here, from teens to geezers. (I am the geezer.)

:D Elizabeth I'm only fun to write with because I'm one big comic relief happening. Let's recap what happen Script Frenzy:

-I'm Californian. March is typically warm, sunny, awesome for me. So I planned the kick off party at Washington Park (yay! Write in nature, get inspired by the Sound, water, beach! You could hear wood nymphs and like sea fairies call from my vision of this awesomeness!). March in WA is cold. So I planned this party right in one of the cute picnic structures. The day of I had everything ready to go, then when I told my mom I was going to Washington Park she was like "well take Gabe with you." We raise service dogs and Gabe is my giant lab whom at that time was like a year and a couple months old (and mostly muscle and energy). So throw in a wild lab to this, add snow, rain, wind, and OMG cold, and it translates to a quasi-mess on my end. I forgot my internal editor cookies, I spaced out on cups, you name it... Paper was flying. And my dog was just wild. So it was funny now looking at it, but at the time I was in "argh!"

-April was my busy month. First part of the month I went on vacation to see my dog graduate in California, along with just my Q6month trip. So tried to get writing done there. Then I started a new job... It was just Script Frenzy was really hard for me. But I did get a script I enjoy.

Okay moving on:
Johnny Picasso's
501 Commercial Ave
Anacortes, WA 98221
(360) 299-2755

It's on like 5th and Commercial. And if Elizabeth is the young one, Gray is the old one, can I be the perpetually sleepy one? I work this weekend... And have class today. Yay!

Alrighty, sounds good to me. 5th and Commercial. Even a geezer can remember that.

I found a sea fairy washed up in the cove on Patos Island one spring, but the coast guard wanted him back. He was a Bosun 2nd Class. I didn't ask, and they didn't tell.

So, cast of characters: we got Snow White and Sneezy and Sleepy ... I can double for Grumpy some days and Bashful on other days, but there's no way I'll do "Dopey."

So .. what do we bring to this party??

Gray

To reiterate: Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, and Dopey.

Things to bring:
-Yourself
-Any prewriting you have.
-If you want to bring whatever devices you will be using to novel with you (in my case it will be Lyle, my alphasmart, and Big Red, my laptop.)
-If you picked up any awesome gear from the Nanowrimo store. Hint, hint. Or a favorite coffee mug.

That's about it. I'm baking, because it's fall that's what I do, so I'm going to bring something I do every pre-write kick off shindig (pending I don't forget). And you know... I should actually go see this Johnny Picasso's sometime this week.

I'm pro Dopey. :) Whose Ms. White? Now I'd say I'm excited for NaNo, but seeing how I don't have a smidge of a clue what I'm going to write (school crushes creativity) ..... I'm a bit more nervous than excited.

And Kimby, yes, you should definitely hit up Picasso's sometime this week. Early (or late) night coffee run or a cookie the size of your head. :)

He buys those cookies from my bakery every morning~ (Kukuku) But yes, JP's coffee is wonderful and yummy, and you can always paint something if you get stuck in your story.

Cookies as big as my head sound good. Problem I have is my work/sleep schedule is always odd. Maybe when I go to the yarn store to spend my required fiber money, I will hit up JP. Plus I heard they have fused glass making and Red Snapper looks like it has cute stuff. I'm just... seriously I work nights and sleep during the day.

Now I'm all curious about where you work Atcha. Cookies?!

Sadly enough, just the Safeway bakery. I wish it were someplace cooler, but no luck.

I go to Safeway's bakery all the time. They have good cookies!

All right just a reminder:

Johnny Picasso's
Saturday the 24th.
2pm.

Hopefully I will be wearing my new cranberry Nano top (I'm hoping it comes in by this week) and the brown Nano mug, if not I'll have my giant red lap top. Should I make a sign?

Want to start then at 1?

Seriously this is my weekend:
Work Thursday into Friday, class on Friday, go to bed at 6pm, sleep, eat, go to Kick off Party, and then maybe go to church, don't go back to work until Tuesday. So whatever time is good for me. First weekend off in three weeks! Yay!

So fabulous amazing Kimby who I practically worship and adore (you put up with me, that makes you a saint)... I might not be able to come to your equally fabulous and amazing (but nowhere near as cool as Frenzy) kick-off party dohickamajig on Saturday. Why? Because I failed to study with my Spanish "tutor" four times this week which results painfully in a couple hours of yard work. Ugh. And because I'm trying to catch up and work ahead in school before NaNo starts so I can... you know... hole up in my room all day long and write endlessly on my computer and have people think I'm an absolute anti-social human who would melt at sunlight and cringe at the thought of human contact.

Wait...

I already do that... and people already think that.

I guess NaNo is just the excuse I get to use for a month to get people to lay off.

Hmmmm....

But yeah. I may or may not come, so don't expect me.

Loves. :)

If anyone from Sedro-Wooley wants to come, come! Yay!

Brit- why didn't you study?! Okay try to come. Can't you justify this under "Young Writers"? Or you could do what I do, have nightmares, can't sleep, do homework. Either way try to get everything done so you can meet up sometime this month. And no worshipping. I have to put up with myself, so if I can do that... :D

Come- Yay! The more the merrier.

Okay to reiterate:

Who: Anyone/everyone
Where: Johnny Picasso's in Anacortes
When: Saturday 1pm.
What to bring:
-Any pre-writing
-If you want to bring any Nano goodies you picked up...
-Anything you want to show off (within reason. I don't want anyone showing off a giant elephant).

Okay I will be in a red/cranberry Nano shirt (it came! And Elizabeth/Britney said "you don't want blue in November! Get red!" Love the color!), I'm thinking my comfy jeans, with my red laptop (have a little obsession with red), and my brown Nano mug. I'll bring my "No Plot! No Problem!" book too so people can spot me...

I'm living in Woolley. Also, I'm trying to see if I can make it to that Johnny Picasso place tomorrow , but like last month everything is hitting me at once for it's attention.

And a hootin' good time was had by all ! (Painting the mug and writing down crazy "get unstuck" ideas was fun.)

Next time I'll turn the Palm camera on myself.

We'll see you at the Nov. 3 write-in.
