Oooooh, I used to play this! Then I went on holiday and lost the habit of checking my account, and by the time I remembered my account had been deleted for inactivity. I recreated my account a few times but was so disheartened by the loss of my ten ascensions' worth of skills that I forgot to play the game, and every recreation followed its predecessor in being deleted for inactivity.

...but seeing this thread reminded me to try again, since I remember enjoying the game so much back when I played it. (That's about two years ago now.) Maybe it'll be different this time. My user name there is Jayeless. Currently I'm a level two Accordion Thief.

As I am here, over there I'm Chyld (#1885211), I've been playng KoL on and off since ascension rolled out (I'm still kicking myself that I didn't donate with all that student loan money, and save my account from being deleted), and now I'm a lvl22 Turtle Tamer hunting slimelings and aiming to be a Tzar of Turtles!

Over here, this is my third attempt at Nanowrimo, last year failed because a temporary job dropped itself right across November and destroyed my flow, and my attempt in 06... was just terrible, less said the better.

This thread made me decide to make another KoL account. :) I played it a little bit a couple of years ago but never got very far before forgetting about it, but I've been getting bored lately and it's still as amusing as it always was. My name there is "LuciDae" if anyone wants to say hello; currently a level three disco bandit. Perhaps I'll join the NaNoWriMo guild.

I'm a level seven Accordian Thief, and my main pastime is smashing all the barrels in the Barrel full of Barrels. My name's WilliamAndWiddershins, and if I figure out how, I shall join a NaNoWriMo guild.

It's certainly what I shall be doing instead of novelling this year. Probably.

I'm currently a recovered KoL addict, but this thread has made me feel nostalgic and now I'm tempted to revive my Seal Clubber.

Hah! I wasn't expecting to see anything KOL related here! This is so great!

The good news for a lot of you would be- there's no more deleting accounts due to inactivity. That feature was removed a few months ago! There’s also been oodles of QOL updates made to the game!

I'm a pretty active Kingdom of Loathing player.. although I usually just do it in the background, having played it a few years now. My mains, Sebastian Dash and Shelly Girl, are in a clan I used to run for a while, "the Kingdom of kol." It's a wonderful clan. If anyone needs one, consider joining, feel free to kmail me! I'm hoping we can get to building it into an even stronger clan someday but obviously I'll be busy with nano next month.

I enjoyed my game so much, I actually built a little writing game around it a couple years ago.

I don't want to hijack or hijinx the thread on it, which'd be easy to do since we're looking for more potential writers for our game! :) But I will say this- it's going to play very heavily into my nano, which is basically going to be a piece I'm going to use for the game itself. Ironically, it'd normally be a fairly short page, I'm thinkin 5-12K words and ideally written in two weeks, preferably less.

This one, obviously, is going to be 50,000 words and written in 30 days.. *Grins*

IF anyone is interested, let me know? I can write up a post here, or on my own forums, and link you, and the game could really use a talent influx.

I'm trying for the Level 30 Trophy with a Disco Bandit. I haven't ascended yet even once. I think I'm scared to do it. I'm Firyafinwe and I run a shop in the Mall. The shop kind of dominates my playing pattern. Our teeny tiny clan just got a dungeon, which I haven't been in, but the boys are all very excited about it.

A novelist is indeed me. :3 Nice to meet you all, I'm thecatenator in KoL as well. Currently in the Your Mum's Face Is In My Pants Like A Fox Clan, we're quite the jolly bunch. But god I haven't been on KoL in forever.

I'm Cyranix in KoL as well as here -- a somewhat lapsed player after going on a trophy binge, but I check in periodically to see content changes. I'm not averse to helping new or creative players and can be persuaded to donate items or meat via Kmail.

If I hadn't just levelled a multi to make a clan for some RL friends, I'd be all over making a NaNo clan. If my procrastination reaches such lofty heights next month -- and I'm definitely not ruling that out -- I may do this. I'd let you all know of course, and whitelist ya.
