Want to Host a Meeting?

That’s Great! The Denver Metro Area is a big place. Way too big for three ML’s to cover. We encourage others to get together to talk, write and generally have a good time. Here are a few guidelines that we ask for you to follow:

After any discussion on when and where to meet on the boards or on this site…clearly state in one post:

* Place
* Time
* Date
* Rules

It may seem silly but the rules for the meeting is just the general expectations for the meeting…is it a meet and greet? Do you expect everyone that comes to shut up and write? Say so! That way folks can come to meetings of a type they enjoy.

Rule #1: Please respect others.
Rule #2: Please only plan events on this site which are open to all Denver Nanos. You can have space limits (say only 10 for a Perkins meetup for example), but we ask that you don't plan private events in a public forum).

Once we see all the info we will post it on the calendar so other Nano’s can find you. Google Calender connects to Google Maps from the event so everyone can get directions. The calendar can be found on the dennanos.org site under Calendar of Events.

Okay, north area wrimos! Who's up for write-ins? I live in Northglenn. Previously we've had write-ins at the Atlanta Bread Company at 104th and I-25. We also had a year where we wandered about from place to place, like laptop-toting troubadours. Any ideas? Evenings are best for me, as I work full-time. I have another commitment the 2nd and 4th Tuesday in November, but otherwise I'm pretty open.

I'm scouting out a few places. Unfortunately the Panera at 77& Sheridan is extremely hard to work with. They seem to conveniently forget when we schedule. I've already tried a prelim there and before I told anyone about I waited a week and then check with a Panera which again claimed we had never set a meeting.

There is a new gaming store up at 120th & Pierce. I'm trying to see if they'll let us do a write in there.

I like the Atlanta Bread at 104th & I-25. I go there frequently to write all year round so I'm certain I will be there for NaNo action too.

How about 7pm on Mondays at the 104th and I-25 Atlanta Bread Company? I could do other days (aside from the 2nd and 4th Tuesday) if Monday won't work.

Though the area-wide write in is also on a Monday, so depending on weather I may head over there instead that night.

Mondays work but Tuesdays and Wednesday are the best since my wife and son are also out doing things those nights. Heck, I'll probably do all three nights since my wife has dance class on Mondays. She's a busy camper this fall lol. That works out great for Nano. Let me know if anyone else is interested in those days. I'll be there between 6 and 7-Bob

Only two Tuesdays would work for me, and honestly getting there at 6 is a big rough, though doable--I'd be more likely to get there around 6:30. Wednesdays I could go 6:30-8 but would have to leave then as I have a standing phone call with some friends. I may just always show up on Mondays (since even alone I get more writing done if I'm out of my apartment) and come on other nights as I can make it. Looks like there may not be many people showing up, since there hasn't been much reply to this thread.

Six is just the earliest time I'd be there. I too get more done out of the house so that's why I'll be there those three days at least. So hopefully I'll see you there-Bob

Barring schedule changes if I can find a job (which I hope happens!), Mondays at that location are fine with me. I've never really gone to write-ins in the past, but this year I'd like to make an effort to, if just to get out of the house for a while. So I shall hopefully be seeing everyone there! :)

Cool, hope to see you! Honestly I'm lax about "okaying" a group coming in to ABC, but they've never complained. *g*

I agree--it is good to get out. Good luck with the job search!

In case anyone's wondering, these are really write-ins with some intermittent socializing. I'm certainly not adverse to people being more social if they wish; just don't be offended if I just chat as I come in and as I leave and nothing more. I love these evenings for upping my word count. :)

Do you have set days or times yet so we can get you on the calendar?

It's looking like the "official" day will be Mondays. I'm going to say 7pm, though I might get there a bit sooner. So:

Atlanta Bread Company at I-25 and 104th

Mondays, 7pm to whenever (it closes at 9)

Format is generally a write-in with intermittent socializing.

Thanks, friendly neighborhood MLs!

Mondays sound great! I'm up for multiple nights of the week as well since all my classes will be done by November. My husband really likes these write-ins because he gets a lot of homework done while the rest of us write.

So the official nights are Mondays? We could also make Tuesday through Thursday unofficial write-in nights for anyone that wants the extra time.

Tues through Thurs as unofficial nights sounds good to me! I'll likely show up to some, but I have no idea yet which ones.

Just a reminder that we've got our official write in tonight at the Atlanta Bread Company at 104th and I-25. We technically start at 7, but I'll aim to get there at 6:30 or 6:45. I'll be the one with brown curly hair and an aging HP laptop with two of the horned NaNoWriMo logo stickers on its top corners. :)

Just a reminder that one of the Unofficial Write-ins @ the Atlanta Bread Co is tonight @ 7. There is also one on Tuesdays but I forgot to post about that yesterday. Hope to see you there-Bob

Official write-in tonight at the ABC! Hope to see everyone there--Atlanta's gaining on us, folks! Let's get some words in to keep 'em at bay.

Well, I know the area-wide write-in is today, but I think I'll still be heading to the ABC. I finally got caught up to where I'd like to be, but now I'd like to get ahead, and I'd lose close to an hour round trip, I think, driving to the area-wide. So I'll hope to see some of our local crew tonight, but if not, happy writing!

Just a reminder we have our penultimate write-in at the ABC tonight at 7! (Though truthfully I might not make it next week--seems safer to do a final verification at home than at the ABC...)
