Hello 2009 LocoFoCo WriMos! November is fast approaching, and I am very excited about it starting. Let me introduce myself. I'm Jewels, one of your local MLs, that means I'm here to help you get through November without going too crazy. This will be my second year as an official participant and first year as a ML.

I have to say that participating in NaNo last year was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. A lot of that had to do with the excellent guidance of last years MLs: Traevoli and Shmoo. I hope that all of you will have an amazing time participating this year.

As one of your MLs I will be organizing events for you to come to, sending out pep talks, keeping you motivated, and answering your questions throughout the next couple of months. I'm open to all your comments and suggestions. In fact if there is something you would like to do to help out our region let me know. Help will always be appreciated.

I can't wait to meet everyone. Happy Noveling!

Hello hello hello!!

I go by Tsukasa here, a pleasure to meet you all.

This is my second year participating in Nano with the Ft. Collins crowd, and my fifth year participating overall. My time will be divided between here and Denver, with the majority being here, and I plan to actually make it to more events this year!

Okay, so I'm gonna get up on my soapbox now--doing Nano with the FoCo folks is really fantastic. It's such a warm, supportive community up here that doesn't intimidate. The MLs are great, the people are great, and the writing is great. It's this atmosphere that propelled me to win for the first time last year, which I feel is significant given the amount of stress I was under. I hope that veterans and newcomers alike will get the same support and sense of belonging that I have.

I look forward to meeting everyone! Happy Writing!

NaNoWriMo is single-handedly responsible for turning me from a voracious reader with a large vocabulary into a writer. I may have started a writing club in college and penned a few poems in my day, but it wasn't until a had this vision, this goal set before me by NaNo' that I seriously undertook to craft a novel. The momentum I gathered last November carried me through the present and, God/dess willing, into the future.
Looking forward to 'winning' this year. Last year was my madien voyage and I was <1000 words; so close!
I might even go to a meet-up this time...

I've been doing this every year since my first NaNoWriMo in Florida, in 2003. I've been doing it here in Fort Collins since 2005, and crossed the 50K finish line every time. I once wrote almost 16K on the last day of November in a panicked rush.

I'm still trying to decide whether I'm going to take the bit in my teeth again this year. I need to figure out whether I have the time and inspiration to actually finish a novel this year (and not just "finish" writing 50K words of it). If I don't think I can do that this year, I'll probably spend that time doing something else instead -- like writing a lot of Scheme and Ruby code. Whether I take on NaNoWriMo again or not, I wish you all the best.

So is Loveland grouped in with this crew or is it separate? I will be moving there in November. Writing my novel as we move. Driving through Canada. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Last year was my first NaNoWriMo experience and I loved it! I was able to "win" and finish my novel and am really excited for this year. I live in Loveland and if there are enough of us here, I would be interested in "hosting" a write-in each week here in town. I'm looking forward to seeing ya'll soon:)

Except Greeley. Last time I checked, there has been a long and bitter war between us and Greeley, filled with blood, tears, and various caffeinated beverages.

Anyway, I'm back again for another round! This is my second NaNo, and circumstances have conspired to keep me gainfully unemployed and in Fort Collins, so chances are I'll be here again.

I've got a sweet new hat to wear while writing, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to make it to more events this year! I've also been working on roping my older sibling into joining this year as well, so hopefully we'll both be turning up at some of the get togethers.

Bon Voyage fair civilized world, for it is time to dive into the depths of the page , the pen, and the coffee!!!!! I am back, and could not be more excited about another amazing Nano year. 2008 was my maiden voyage and while the salty spray was in my hair I was invigorated to the finish line by wonderful, fun, and silly people at write ins and parties. So dash away the grey-ness of November, for I am Molly573, page beware, and editor be gone!!!!

Thank you to our amazing MLs last year and our amazing ML this year. Do not forget to check out the LIbrary events as well, should be a lot of fun in the most appropriate place of all. See you all on the 14th of October at Main!!!. Hello one and All.

Okay I will introduce myself then. This is my 4th years doing Nano. The first year I was in a city without an ML, so I drove an hour to a small city with writins. The last two years I have been the ML for Anchorage Alaska. As I am moving I won't get to do that again. I will miss my wrimos, but am looking forward to joining what sounds like a great group. I have won the past three years and am not going to let a little thing like moving stop me from winning this year. As for needing anything (anyone want to help me unload a moving truck. :-) J/k.

I look forward to meeting all of you.

So...I'm obviously very new to this, as I've managed to put my email address as my screen name. How the hell did I do that and how do I undo it?

That little business out of the way...my sister-in-law (JSTN) and I are joining together this year. We're both avid readers and writers. Our genres are totally different, as a general rule. I've been writing my whole life and have recently (in the last year or so) started blogging, which is a whole heap of fun and has stoked my writing fires.

I'm so excited to get started. Have no clue whatsoever what I'm going to write about, but write I will.

I just moved to Fort Collins a few months ago and am looking forward to joining the writing community here. I usually write poetry and short fiction and hope to actually finish a novel this go-round. I've started WriMo several times, but about mid-November, the holiday prep kills me. This time, however, I have neither grad school nor visiting family to slow me down! And I have yet to find a real job, which should help immensely. :-)

Cheers!

Unfortunately you can't change your screen name. The best option to do is change your email address to some other email address (it doesn't even have to exist) and create a new screen name for yourself. You can't have two screen names under the same email, but it's a pretty quick fix. Ish.

Hey, Fort Collins! My name is Skyla, I'm the ML from Greeley! Your friendly rival. Etc., etc. And hey, Loveland! We had events every once in a while last year in Loveland. Because Panera doesn't exist in Greeley. If we do it again this year, feel free to join. That goes for you, too, FoCo - I'll be at some of your events so if you feel like braving Greeley, you're more than welcome to.

Uh, introduction.... I have no idea what I'm going to write about. That's usually the problem all through November, too. I haven't even been reading in my genre recently. I've been reading Psychology books.... so my novel should be very interesting because I'm sure all the Psychology stuff is going to influence what I'm writing this year. Should be interesting.

Hey all!

I'm still not sure if I'll be in Fort Collins for November, but I'll probably come to some of the events in October at least.

I'm looking forward to getting started on writing, this will be my sixth year participating!

Hello everyone!

Some of you may remember me from the past two years, but it's likely you don't since I never could come to the write-ins. now that I (almost) have a wonderful thing called a driver's license, I will be much more involved. Um... I've won the past two years, but it'll be interesting to see how it goes this year with school and everything. I go by zinnia here, but at the write-ins I'll introduce myself as Anne.

Hey everyone! This will be my third year of Nanowrimo. I managed to make it to a meet and greet last year but then completely failed to make it to any of the write ins, hehe. I think I'll be able to make it to more this year though, especially since there are some at the libraries. (Thanks!)

I'm psyched for this year, though I have no idea what I'll be writing.

DAMN, I was hoping that you'd left to a different state, so I could have the coolest hat! Ah well. (Kidding, kidding! I actually saw you at last year's meet and great, and went "...I have to get a hat like that. Or at least something snazzy to wear on my head while writing.")

Haha. I get that a lot. I still suck at dancing. And if I have time, I might totally redo the hat. (different embroidery, new pins and less of them, re-sew the feathers) I think everyone in LocoFoCo needs a flashy writer hat.

Great to see so many familiar faces, err, names! *waves*

Some of you may remember seeing my screenname from years past. I'm the resident hermit - I live in the forest above FoCo within walking distance of Horsetooth rock. Since I tend to get snowed in a lot, and it's a bit of a drive, I don't usually make it to events (although you never know when I might show up and surprise you). I do however lurk around the forum and offer whatever support I can from afar.

I'd like to repeat what has already been said: this is a great group! We have an excellent win rate and a lot of great writing happening here in the Fort, and that's in large part because of the team sprit and general awesomeness of the FoCoNaNoers. I for one am looking forward to trouncing Greeley once again in our annual battle. That's right. You heard me, Greeley. Consider the gauntlet thrown. (*winks at Skyla*)

This will be my fifth year and, with any fortune, my fifth win. I've graduated with my BA, I'm still unemployed (anyone out there looking to hire a crazy poet?), and my guy lives an hour away: nothing spells tons of writing time and a sure win like this autumn! Bring on the madness and the wordcounts!

Are ye happy now? No, really, I'm pretty excited to do it. Should finally give me some incentive to FINISH one of my 132 beginnings.

HELLO!!

Hi everyone! I'm Michelle, and this is my third year doing NaNo, and I won last year. This November is going to be chock-full of insanity for me this year, since I'll be gone the first weekend of the month, and I'll be working and going to school full time. We'll make it work, yes? :)

Not gonna lie to you, I've got some ideas running through my head these last few days and they've been keeping me up at night. It's the first time I've really felt torn between ideas for NaNo, so keep your fingers crossed!

And in response to Skyla, Greeley is very smelly, but the people there are awesome, so if you bring a gas mask, it's totally worth driving out there to write with them. :)

Sorry, all of my adventures are inspired by cartoon water fowl.

And I just realized that I should have actually introduced myself, instead of simply cackling maniacally at the idea that people would actually hand me power, knowing my penchant for world conquest.

I'm Christopher Stuck, originally from Stenchburg, but I defected about 6 years ago to Fort Fun. This is my third year doing NaNoWriMo and my first year as an ML. (Mua ha ha ha!) I won both of the previous years and last year's novel is actually partially edited and coming along toward a presentable piece of fiction.

I accepted the nod as ML in order to help keep Stenchburg from ever beating us in any contest, even though I feel sorry for anyone that has to live in a town with three wind directions of stank. Still, you sometimes have to kick the poor little puppy because it's been sprayed by a skunk and wants some lovin', no matter how big and sad its eyes are. (Skye, I'm looking at you. Don't you give me those eyes.)

I'm one of those people that is actually delusional and crazy enough to attempt to make a career of writing. I'm currently attending FRCC and will graduate with honors in the spring before possibly defecting across the border to Laramie.

Oh, and I'm HONEST when critiquing, so don't hand me your stuff unless you want an honest opinion.
